Survivor Holidays: All Stars Episode X “The Devil You Know”
Saint Patrick’s Day: Christopher, JoJo
Halloween: Ashley, Isaac, Jake, Jon
Valentine’s Day: Elisabeth, Taylor Isaac stood glaring, his temperature rising within him. Ashley regarded him for a moment. When he looked at her, there was a new determination on his face, a rigid set to his jaw that Ashley had yet to see. Isaac: I’m gonna get these guys back. Ashley nodded, but somehow she wasn’t as confident. The numbers were completely gone and lines as clear as borders. Isaac: They will pay for this. But as Isaac stormed off and out of the tribal council, Ashley merely shook her head. Jake was in a hurry alongside the beach. Getting to the aisle of huts before any confrontation was a premier goal. However, he hadn’t made it half way before he heard Isaac calling after him. No speed in his gait would save him, and Isaac was bound to catch up with him. Ignoring him outright would not sweep it under the rug, so Jake stopped in his tracks and whirled around to face him head on. Jake: Ok…I know you aren’t going to like that I lied to you, and you have every right not to. He held his hands out toward Isaac to ward him off, but Isaac slowed his pace and softened. Isaac: I’m not mad at you, Jake. Jake: Well, if you were, then you’d be entitled. Thing is…Missie was so, so dangerous, and I had no idea what would happen if I told you. I had no security that it wouldn’t end up being me if you told her. Isaac nodded. It was a valid argument. It was a rule he had lived by in Halloween, so it made a lot of sense. Isaac: I understand. Jake sighed and looked down at his feet guiltily. Jake: I hate as much as you that Jon is still in this. But I don’t feel like… He paused, groping for the right words. He hated these awkward moments of the game. Jake: Missie just wasn’t on my side. She was dangerous to my well-being here. Isaac opened his mouth to say something, but Jake cut him off. Jake: I really have to go. Clamping his mouth shut, Isaac frowned at him, but Jake shook his head and turned to go. Jake: Sorry, we’ll talk later. Isaac: I really do understand! But Jake wasn’t hearing it. He had turned and darted off toward the huts before Isaac could even spit it out. Sighing, Isaac dropped his hands at his sides and sauntered back to the huts. Christopher Collins couldn’t help but beam as he walked alone down the beach. The numbers advantage was now completely on his side, and he was sure there was no way the tides would turn again. That was to say unless Jake Erickson wisened up and turned them on his own. Christopher couldn’t help but to acknowledge that everything that had happened in the game had been his lead with a few morsels of input along the way. It satisfied him. It puffed him up. He laughed out loud as he bent over to pick up a rock and toss it into the surf. Then Missie popped into his mind. Her exit had been quite colorful, and it amused him. He laughed out loud again and skipped another rock. This was, perhaps, the most fulfilled he had felt the entire game. There were virtually no threats to him remaining in the game, with the exception of Jake, but even Jake was one Christopher Collins would be honored to place second or third to. He thought back over all the people that had left the game—by his hand, no doubt—and it made him want to dance. He and JoJo had been behind them all, without a spoken alliance. JoJo: Talk about playing into your hand… Christopher whirled around, his musings shattered, and found JoJo approaching him. He slowed his pace to let her catch up to him, all the while smiling broadly. JoJo: Did you hear what Taylor answered at tribal council? He squinted as he recalled Taylor’s statement. If only Taylor knew what was really going on behind the scenes. Christopher and JoJo grinned at each other before Christopher tilted his head back and laughed ominously. JoJo: I dig you! I hereby crown you Sole Survivor…king of the world! Christopher waved her off. Christopher: Oh come now, it was an easy set up. You would’ve done it, too. JoJo: Hot-tay extroadanaire! Christopher: And can Beth get a d**n life? To just sit and watch us like that. JoJo: She didn’t say anything, did she? Christopher: Jury. She isn’t allowed. Once again they glowed at each other. Christopher laughed again. Christopher: I think we might just be safe for the future, Mama! JoJo: ‘Cause of you! You rock my world! Christopher did a little dance, shaking his hips for JoJo, and she laughed as she slithered her arm in his. He escorted her the rest of the way to the huts before parting ways. Isaac Miller was there to catch JoJo as soon as she was alone. He emerged suddenly from the shadows, startling her. Isaac: So, am I next? She paused to catch her breath. JoJo: How could I possibly know such a thing? We are both still in this game, Isaac, and nothing has been predictable. Isaac: I’ve lost everyone I can trust now. JoJo bowed her head. JoJo: I’m sorry. There was an awkward silence for a moment, Isaac looking to JoJo for some support, hoping that she would offer anything by way of his own safety. She looked up at him. JoJo: Go get immunity, Isaac. That is true Survivor. I would much rather inactives go. That phrase had been tossed out since the beginning of the game and never acted upon, and Isaac arched his brow at her. Nodding, she dropped her eyes again. JoJo: How could you believe me now? I’ll shut up. Isaac: Oh please, JoJo, don’t let me go next. I beg of you… Her eyes remained trained at her feet. Isaac: Well, then, if I am going, tell me, ok? JoJo: It should be Ashley or Jon. It really should, Isaac. She paused, grew serious, and took Isaac by the shoulders. JoJo: I’m looking you in the face and swearing…if you go, I will tell you. Isaac nodded sadly. Isaac: Thank you. JoJo: If it’s me, please do the same. Anything can happen, honey. You know that. Isaac smirked. Isaac: Well, I’ve seen the pattern. Everyone I trusted is leaving. JoJo: That sucks. I can’t imagine how that feels. Isaac: I know you guys know that I would never vote against Missie, and she would never vote against me. JoJo nodded. JoJo: You were lucky to have her. She is an amazing lady. Isaac: I’m just shocked that all five of you guys lied to us. JoJo: I was very careful not too, Isaac— Isaac: But I do thank you for picking her over me. As much as I love Missie, I’d rather I’d be here than her. JoJo sighed and touched his arm. JoJo: Oh, Isaac. You are a great kid. I, too, felt like Missie was ready to go. She said a few times in the past few days that she was hating this, and I don’t blame her. I am part of the reason she hated it. Isaac: Just let inactives go next. Don’t let this game turn out like those where we let people self-vote and stay in—especially over someone who wants to stay in and has put his heart in this game. JoJo: I agree. There was another silence between them. Isaac wasn’t sure if anything was sinking in to her. It appeared as though she was trying her hardest to guard against him. Saying too much was only going to prove counterproductive, and Isaac knew it. Isaac: Ok, I’m done now. JoJo looked up quickly. JoJo: I agree, Isaac. I’m one person, but I agree. Isaac: Then use your voice! JoJo: I absolutely will. You have my word. Isaac: I have nowhere else to go, and you are my last option. JoJo: I can’t make any promises, but I will tell you the truth. Isaac bit his lip thoughtfully. Isaac: I just want to know if there is another alliance out there or not. Is it more than just you and Chris? JoJo: Why does everyone assume it is me and Chris? Isaac chuckled aloud. Isaac: It certainly appears that way, and until I’m told differently, I will assume that. JoJo grew indignant at that. JoJo: When I came to you to vote Jenne off, do you think I was working with Chris? I was doing that against him! We haven’t done everything together in this game. We played in our season just like you and Missie. We are playing the game, too, Isaac! Isaac: Ok. JoJo: And…we really did want to work with you and Missie. Sorry, I changed my mind… Isaac cocked his head, but JoJo looked away. JoJo: And I can’t speak for Chris. I need to go, Isaac. Everyone had places they needed to be that night, it seemed. Isaac nodded at her, disappointment etching his features. Everyone was trying to get away from him. Isaac: Ok. Take care. JoJo: Please hang in there. Isaac shrugged, and JoJo took a step toward him, arms extended. JoJo: Hug? She reached out to put her arms around him, but he stood rigidly. Slowly he wrapped his arms around her and patted her back softly. Pulling away, JoJo looked at him and tried to smile. JoJo: Good night. And she turned to go. Isaac rubbed his head quickly. It all seemed like such a hopeless cause. This huge, looming alliance was going to break for nothing. When he made his way back to his hut, he found Taylor standing out on the porch of his own hut, gazing out into the night. Isaac put on his most pleasant expression and approached him. Isaac: Can I borrow your immunity for next tribal council, please? Taylor tossed him a courtesy laugh. Isaac: I’m so toast. Taylor: You never know. Isaac: You guys had every right to vote Missie out. She did completely lie to you. Taylor snickered. Taylor: Oh, I know. Isaac: I never have, though. Taylor eyed him for a moment. Taylor: Oh, I know you haven’t. Things aren’t as bad as you think they are. I wouldn’t worry much. Isaac: I just hope people realize we can’t sit around and let these inactives win. Taylor: I think people know that. I think they realized that tonight, but Missie has caused problems for everyone, and that’s why she left tonight. Isaac: Well, not for me. Taylor: Most everyone. Isaac: The only reason I’m here out of my three-person alliance is because I didn’t purposely cross anyone. Taylor narrowed his eyes and looked at him questioningly. Isaac: It was me, Kyle, and Missie, but that’s been pretty obvious. Again, Isaac felt himself getting nowhere. Taylor was in a good position for the first time in the game and knew it. Nodding, Isaac turned to go. Isaac: Well, I’m going to bed. Taylor: Bye. He headed across the aisle, pausing at Jon’s hut. There was his door, nameplate still signifying his place in the game. Isaac rapped on the door and waited momentarily, but no one came. Jon had virtually disappeared. Heaving a sigh, Isaac turned around to his own hut, noticing Christopher in the distance. He called out to him, but Christopher continued on his way and disappeared into the darkness toward the main resort. Isaac: So I guess you’re ignoring me now… Back at his hut, Taylor continued staring off into the sea. Like Christopher, the night had been fulfilling. There was nothing like having a game enemy or rival leave. He had reached quite the turn around in his game. He took in a deep breath and disappeard into his hut for a pleasant night’s sleep—one of the first in a long time. But Isaac Miller wasn’t prepared for sleep. When he was finally locked away in his hut, he did some pacing and some thinking and more pacing. Just like he had told Ashley earlier, Jake was his only key to survival. Nobody else was going to budge. Presently, he sat down at a table, ripped some paper from his journal, then paused while he thought of words to put into a note. If no one was going to give him chance enough to talk before running away, he was going to write a note. Tapping the table with his pen, he thought quickly, then began writing. Isaac: Jakester… He read it over quickly. It looked good. If Jake Erickson would read every word, he would have much to think about. Slipping outside, Isaac made his way to Jake’s hut. The evening had grown late, and Isaac was sure everyone had turned in for the night, but he looked around quickly to be quite sure. No one was watching. Isaac took a deep breath before slipping the note under Jake’s door and returning to his own hut for the night. It was his last shot. He fell asleep hoping that Jake would read every word…

Day 28
Christopher: And taking the award of most hated player is…Christopher!
Taylor whirled around to find Christopher approaching him on the pier early the next morning. He didn’t know where exactly it had happened, but he and Christopher had made a one-eighty in their relationship in the game.
Normally Taylor would have rolled his eyes or desired to ward Christopher off, but this morning he welcomed him.
Taylor: No, Isaac takes that award now. He’s so d**n desparate.
Taylor shook his head.
Taylor: And Missie showed her true colors last night.
Christopher: I wonder what Karen makes of all this.
Taylor: Who knows.
Christopher clapped him on the back.
Christopher: Well, congrats on immunity and getting your nemesis out. Impressive episode for you.
Taylor chuckled.
Taylor: I know…what do I have to live for now? You really don’t have a nemesis.
Christopher considered momentarily. That might be a true statement…
Taylor: Everyone hates you.
But that hit home and Christopher’s smile faded. Sure it looked that way, and the people that had left the game probably had bitter feelings more so toward him than anyone else. He found that stinging a bit.
Christopher: I know. But Kyle, and Ryan…mine were a wee bit earlier.
He looked down thoughtfully.
Taylor: It was so funny last night when Isaac was so desparate. ‘Please don’t let me be booted, Taylor, please! I have no one to trust anymore! You were right to vote Missie out!’
Taylor laughed.
Christopher: He said you were right?
Taylor: Yeah, he did. He said she was rude and had lied to me.
Christopher: She was certainly rude last night.
Taylor continued to laugh, but Christopher suddenly had something to think about. Just how hated was he?
As Isaac had hoped, Jake awakened that morning and the last thing he did before leaving his hut was find the note slipped under his door. He picked it up quickly, noted the auther, was overwhelmed by the length, but read it nonetheless.
His first instinct was to crumple the paper and toss it as fast as he could, but something in the note rang in his mind and that was Isaac’s prediction on Christopher’s boot order: Jake out fifth, Taylor out fourth, and JoJo and Elisabeth to the final three with Christopher.
He paused for a moment. It was no secret to anyone in the game by that point that Christopher and JoJo were inseparable. But Jake had always considered himself as part of the trio. But then there was Elisabeth.
Jake scanned the note briefly again.
Elisabeth, who virtually only talked to Christopher and who had made a few padded executive decisions had been kept firmly in the game by Christopher’s iron fist. It would come as no surprise if she was higher up the ladder of Chrisotpher’s standards than Jake.
Then there was Taylor out at fourth after Jake’s dimissal at fifth. Why not? Taylor posed as no challenge threat—that much was obvious to everyone. Jake remembered boasting to both Christopher and JoJo that he could turn on the challenge skills toward the end of the game—even claim the final challenge as his own.
Jake sat down quietly, realizing the harsh validity to Isaac’s claims.
He had to do something.
Christopher and JoJo met for a late breakfast that morning before heading to the beach for tree-mail. JoJo had noticed him to be a lot more quiet than usual, and she wondered but said nothing as they chatted idly while waiting for their food.
Finally she could hold off no longer.
JoJo: Are you down in the dumpies?
Christopher shook his head quickly.
Christopher: Not at all. Just like…wow. This whole thing has been so dramatic.
JoJo: It sure has. I can’t believe Missie said those things last night. Although, one of the things I love is how she puts it out there.
Christopher: Yeah, she’s fun. As I said, I knew it would fall on me with her, and that is ok. I accept her feelings about it.
JoJo smiled and squeezed his arm.
JoJo: You really are the best player in the game, so be with me in the final two, and I would love you to win.
Christopher: I won’t win, but you will. And yes, I hope we get there.
JoJo: Poor Isaac. Kid was pleading with me Jon and Ashley first.
Christopher: Before we hit Isaac, I have to say…you do realize that we have dominated this game.
JoJo: You have.
Christopher: No, no…I wanted to toot our horns. WE have!
JoJo: You are smart.
Christopher: As are you. We have totally owned.
JoJo: We are a good team, baby.
Christopher: The only vote we didn’t do was Lisa, and that’s because we tried a last ditch “Get Tenz” which almost happened.
He sat back, ignoring the claims against his own character and reveling in his accomplishments. He sighed and clasped his hands over his chest.
Christopher: I don’t think anyone else has our record. And the Lisa thing…it wasn’t like it happened without our knowledge. We just opted to see if we could pull something else off.
JoJo: Chris, your questions last night for Tay were nothing short of genius.
Christopher: Oh stop. Granted I was trying to set him up. Isaac and Missie, too.
JoJo nodded then looked down thoughtfully.
JoJo: You know, I felt lectured to last night? When Karen said it is important to be good to everyone in the game and not just jury members…it was more than Karen usually says in tribal councils.
Taylor’s claims once again came heavily to Christopher’s mind.
Christopher: Well, I don’t know who I’ve supposedly been bad to. I mean, I have blindsided people. Nothing more, though. Have you been bad to people, Mama?
She considered him for a moment.
JoJo: I guess so. I totally made fun of Shaun when he was trying to form an alliance. I lied to Tenzil about voting for him.
Christopher: That isn’t anything that anyone else hasn’t done in Survivor—including Karen.
JoJo: Oh, Karen is good at it. Beth was apparently loyal to me, and I screwed her. When Kyle left I was kind. I wanted to tell Missie, but she hadn’t initiated conversation with me in days, so I don’t think I was mean to her. I’ve never been voted out like that. Literally, my only vote out was in St. Patrick’s Day. My favorite game, by the way.
Christopher nodded.
Christopher: I actually did the right thing in that game for once.
JoJo cocked her head and scowled at him.
JoJo: Wasn’t for once. You are good people, mister!
Christopher shrugged. Others didn’t think so.
JoJo: In St. Patrick’s Day I was half in love with you already.
Christopher: I adored you, and the game was a terrible ending.
He cringed.
Christopher: Oh, and our fights!
JoJo groaned.
JoJo: Our fight…oh gosh! You were so hating me for days!
Christopher: Such a wench!
JoJo: ‘Tis I!
Christopher: Oh, I was a bitch and a half in that game.
Christopher couldn’t bring himself to express to JoJo that what Taylor had said had bothered him, so he left it there. They enjoyed breakfast together, reminiscing until it was time to head to the beach for tree-mail reading.
Like clockwork, seven remaining hopefuls congregated at the beach around Karen. It wasn’t with shock but with much disappointment that everyone looked around and noticed that Jon Kennedy was still absent. Had he returned home unbeknownst to anyone? Would he be back for tribal council?
The Holidays rule threatened the dismissal of any player who missed two tribal councils in a row. If he missed the next one, he would be dismissed from the game.
Karen was not eager to realize that Jon was still missing, so she pressed right into the tree-mail.
Christopher came to stand next to Jake and whispered softly before Karen began her reading.
Christopher: Question. You are the first person I am bringing this up to.
Jake looked up at him quickly.
Christopher: I really feel not so cool about keeping Jon over Isaac.
Jake: I never really wanted to vote for anyone but Ashley and Jon.
Christopher: I know Isaac is the biggest threat of the three, but he would have to win immunity twice in order to make us eat ourselves.
Jake nodded, hopeful for the opportunity to delay a vote for Isaac. The proposal still weighed heavily on his mind.
Jake: Yeah, we still have a buffer.
Christopher: I would much rather vote Jon and wanted to see what you thought.
Jake: I would way rather vote Jon or Ashley.
Christopher: I had a feeling we would be on the same page.
The note from Isaac flashed in Jake’s mind, and he grumbled.
Jake: Even though Isaac’s insane.
Christopher: I know, but I don’t think he can do anything.
And so it seemed they could be safe enough keeping Isaac around for another few days. Besides, Christopher had taken a liking to the boy since they had been on All Star Island.
They both faced front when Karen cleared her throat for their attention.
Karen: Confessions, confessions, getting it all off your chest. You must know your tribemates well for this immunity to be the best.
She looked around at the remaining castaways.
Karen: Your tenth challenge will be in your huts by seven o’clock this evening and will be due tomorrow night at seven.
With that she left, and the others talked among themselves. The challenge was a complete mystery. But for some, the challenge was the least of their worries.
Jake Erickson was struggling with the proposal Isaac had made. Isaac knew it, and JoJo had quickly caught on that his wheels were turning. She waited for others to trickle away before she approached her little friend.
JoJo: What’s going on, sugar?
Jake snapped out of his thoughts and consciously smiled.
Jake: Not much. Just zoning.
Wrapping an arm around his shoulder, she led him away, and they headed toward the beach.
JoJo: Oh my gosh, Isaac was so pitiful last night.
Jake: As usual.
JoJo: He begged and pleaded with me. It was so sad.
Jake rubbed his eyes for a moment as they walked. Pitiful maybe, but Isaac was smart. Jake had been fully prepared to keep everything to himself and make his own educated, executive decision, but he had to tell JoJo. She and Christopher had been so good to him all game, he had to know they were solid.
Jake: JoJo…I’ve gotta tell you something.
JoJo slowed and looked at him tragically. Just like she knew, Jake was going to turn on them.
JoJo: Ok.
Jake: Isaac sent me this long letter this morning…
JoJo: Mmmhmmm…
Jake: Basically spelling out and pleading his case as to how he’s going to take me to the final two.
He paused and looked at her seriously.
Jake: He wants to vote Chris out.
JoJo bit her lip.
JoJo: I’m sure it was a good argument. He told me he was desparate.
Jake: Well, he is. I can’t lie and tell you I didn’t think about it for half a second.
JoJo: The thing is, he was begging me to get rid of inactives first—which made sense to me.
She frowned.
JoJo: That’s stupid to go targeting someone if you want to stay around. Also, that’s Missie talking a bit and not just Isaac.
She noted that Jake was still struggling with it.
JoJo: Talk to me.
Jake: He’s under the impression it’s going to be Isaac, Ashley, Jon, Jake voting for Chris. And, um…here’s what he said about you…that you can’t be ruled out because your emotions can be manipulated.
JoJo put her hands on her hips and glowered for a moment before laughing.
Jake: Honestly, I would have given it way more thought if that hadn’t been included.
JoJo: I know Chris appears to be unbeatable and all that crap, but he is also pissing off the entire jury.
Jake shook his head vigorously.
Jake: I don’t care if I lose to Chris. I would majorly care if I brought Isaac to final two again—and lost. I have wanted you, Chris, and me since day one.
JoJo: You are right. Isaac has many brownie points right now. Missie means Beth means everyone else.
They paused and stared at each other for a moment.
JoJo: Jake you have every right to think about what is best for you. I mean, this is the time it gets hard.
Jake: I know, but voting Chris is absolutely not it.
JoJo: Of course not, and I actually felt for Isaac last night.
Jake: I will feel horrible when I have to vote for him. Even though we haven’t been close, he hasn’t been after me for a second.
JoJo narrowed her eyes.
JoJo: Maybe, but he hasn’t exactly been singing your praises either—until last night.
Jake: No, but he was influenced by Missie the entire game.
Jake paused. What he was about to ask her was going to hit home, and he knew it.
Jake: He said one more thing. That Chris wants JoJo and Lizzie in the final three and Taylor in the final four.
JoJo flinched on the inside and hoped that her face didn’t betray her. She and Christopher had just had a conversation about letting go of Jake before he ran away with challenges—even before Taylor. That much was true.
JoJo: You and I both know that is a bunch of crap! You know that, don’t you, Jake? As if Isaac knows what Chris wants!
Jake exhaled but wasn’t entirely sure.
Jake: Yeah…I should know that. I don’t want to end up number four or five…that’s all.
JoJo: Oh, Jakie, I understand. Hell, I don’t either. But Chris has no loyalty to Taylor! Please! Having Jenne out helped matters!
Jake: It did.
JoJo stopped and took him by the shoulders.
JoJo: Jake, what do you feel is best for you?
Jake: I’ve always wanted Chris, me, and you in the final three. I’ve never deviated from that.
JoJo: Me either.
JoJo looked around quickly before turning to him again.
JoJo: Do you want to talk to Chris?
Jake: Yeah, soon. I wanted to run everything by you first.
JoJo: Jake, I understand the struggle. I’ve been listening to the other side a lot throughtout this game, too. You and Chris is where I belong. But I care about you and support whatever you think is best. Personally, I think Isaac is a goner but that Jon and Ashley should go next.
He nodded sadly and looked down.
Jake: I hope so.
JoJo: Don’t stress. You don’t look so good.
Jake: I don’t feel that great.
JoJo: Physically or just all this?
Jake: All of it. Isaac put something on me I didn’t need on my shoulders.
JoJo: Did you answer him?
Jake shook his head.
JoJo: You have several days to answer him. Just keep thinking about it, and talk to Chris. I have never seen you so down.
Jake: I’m just worn by everything, and I didn’t get much sleep last night.
JoJo was concerned for her friend and worried that he would turn all at the same time. She had never seen him waver, and it was most unsettling.
Back at the beach, Isaac was taken aback when Christopher approached.
Isaac: So you’re not ignoring me?
Christopher looked at him oddly.
Christopher: No, I just went off by myself last night.
Isaac: Well, I’m assuming I’m next to leave.
Christopher: I don’t know. I talked to someone today about seeing if it could be Jon. I don’t know if it will fly.
Isaac: Why would it not fly?
Christopher shrugged.
Christopher: I don’t know.
Isaac rolled his eyes.
Isaac: Yes you do. Don’t play like that…I’m not stupid. I know you’re making all the decisions.
Christopher bristled immediately. He could talk down to people all day long, but it was most definitely not allowed to happen to him.
Christopher: You know, Isaac, if you want to talk to me like that we’re not going to get anywhere.
Isaac: Well, I’m not exactly in the best of moods. I’ve had a lot of crap happen to me.

Christopher: My best friend got booted—without discussion! You don’t need to tell me about being in a bad place! So please don’t act like this has been my favorite week!
Isaac: I’m not, but it sure hasn’t been mine.
Christopher: Look, I don’t want to get into a pissing match about who had the worse week. I like you, and I think you like me, and it’s been tough. We haven’t always been of the same mind.
Isaac: There was no reason to lead me on. I was led on so much.
Christopher: I really wasn’t. I thought we were sticking with you guys.
Isaac jammed his hands on his hips and glowered.
Isaac: So what happened?
Christopher: Missie started working on Taylor. That told us, whether a friend or not, that she was dangerous.
Isaac shrugged, still not buying it.
Isaac: Very well.
Christopher: She played a good game, a lot of “he said, she said”, and you know that. She did a good job of setting people against each other—a lot! I freaking love her…she is the girl me.
Isaac: I know it was smart to vote her out, especially since we would never vote each other out. But now, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I wish I could trust you or JoJo, but I can’t.
Christopher: You should do whatever you have to do. I told you I would not vote for you last night, and I didn’t.
Isaac: Well, I’ve been blindsided twice in a row.
Christopher chuckled.
` Christopher: Well, if all was true you and Missie wanted Kyle gone. So when that went down, it wasn’t so much of a slap.
Isaac: We did want him gone, but not that vote.
Christopher: We just didn’t know if you guys were being honest. I can tell you what I told Missie—win immunity.
Isaac: Fine, I will. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled to be in the final eight. I just don’t want to be seventh or eighth place with Jon, Ashley, and Lis still in this game.
Christopher shrugged.
Christopher: Of course. I know how you feel about that.
Isaac: And please don’t give me a Lis speech.
Christopher: I respect your feelings on that which is why I approached the person I approached today…to see how they would react if it isn’t you.
Isaac laughed.
Isaac: Well, then this person must be set on getting me out. I have a feeling that person could be Jake.
Christopher paused and looked at him for a moment.
Christopher: I’m going to leave that one alone right now.
Isaac: Well, yeah. I knew you would.
Christopher: Do you blame me? I’m trying to keep this low drama. I truly believe that with Missie gone, the drama is officially gone. She was the last of the big shit stirrers.
Isaac disagreed. He was possibly looking at one of the biggest stirrers, but he said nothing more. He knew Christopher should have gone a long time ago when the chance was there. Then later, the auction screwed everything up.
They parted ways, and Christopher watched him go with slight disgust.
Christopher had no sooner entertained the thought before JoJo came up behind him and took him be the hand, startling him. He was immediately concerned by her urgency. JoJo had initially thought to let Jake confront Christopher himself but as was her nature, everything through JoJo was to go back to Christopher. She would not change now, so late in the game. And Christopher needed to know.
JoJo: I don’t know all the details, but Isaac wrote Jake some long thing, and while he is our Jakey and still has his head on…
She hesistated as she led him away toward the pier.
JoJo: Well, I can’t say straight, but I think Isaac got him thinking.
Christopher’s eyes widened.
Christopher: What does Isaac have him thinking?
JoJo: Evidently Isaac was asking Jake to help him vote you off. Of course, Jake told me he doesn’t want to.
Christopher braced himself and put a hand to his mouth.
Christopher: Wow.
JoJo looked around quickly before turning to him again.
JoJo: Isaac told him that you want me and Lis in the final three and Taylor in the final four!
Christopher: I have never said that to him! Ever!
JoJo: Well, I said to Jake how in the hell would Isaac know what Chris wants.
Christopher: Exactly!
Christopher jerked his head over his shoulder to the huts where Isaac had disappeared, no doubt smearing his name to whomever would listen.
Christopher: The first time I was ever even willing to bring that up was with you!
JoJo: I know, and Jake looked horrible today.
Christopher: How dare Isaac pretend to know me—as if I’ve told him squat!
JoJo: What was amazing was that Jake said he didn’t want to be fourth or fifth. Evidently Isaac promised him some final two. He told Jake that my emotions could be manipulated.
Christopher scoffed.
Christopher: Well. Fun times. What is weird is I approached Jakey today about not voting Isaac because I felt we should off Jon first.
He grumbled to himself and spat.
Christopher: This tells me that Isaac is going to the ugly place.
JoJo: He sure is—which is idiotic in my opinion. But, man was Jake shaken up! The final four/five thing…you never said anything like that to Taylor? To Missie?
Christopher shook his head.
Christopher: Not a word, because I haven’t felt set! Nobody!
JoJo: That is spooky.
Christopher: It would have to be Isaac randomly grasping, or…
Christopher frowned and took an agitated breath.
Christopher: Or sadly, someone behind the scenes not being cool—which I don’t even want to entertain!
JoJo: Ahhhh, now you’re thinking. I won’t entertain it either. Well, Isaac is playing now, and good for him, but Jake is gonna need reassurance.
Christophre: And I was gonna give Isaac a get out of jail free card and offer to let him pass Jon.
JoJo scoffed.
JoJo: My emotions can be manipulated. Ha!
Christopher: But now Isaac is effing with Jakey. I don’t know, maybe he thinks he has nothing to lose, probably doesn’t know how close we are to Jake.
JoJo: I guess.
Christopher: I will play dumb if Jake approaches me.
JoJo: I’m shocked Jake was shaken up by it.
Christopher: Well, they were final two buddies last time.
JoJo: But Isaac has dogged Jake to me in this game.
Christopher looked off toward the huts again. Suddenly he wasn’t feeling as secure as he had after he watched Missie disappear into the darkness.
Christopher: Maybe Isaac has gotten to Taylor, too.
JoJo: I highly doubt it. Taylor seemed disgusted with Isaac last night.
Christopher didn’t see Taylor straying after all that was done for him when Kyle was voted out. Still he needed to keep his options open.
Christopher: Jon might be the safe vote no matter what, but I hate keeping a troublemaker around.
The more he thought about it, the more dangerous it sounded to keep Isaac around.
Christopher: If we offed Jon, Isaac could grab Tay and Ash and Jake and trump you, me and Lizzie.
JoJo: And Jake is saying it will be hard to vote Isaac. Just something to think about.
Christopher nodded and hugged her gently.
Christopher: Thank you for keeping me in the loop.
JoJo: I think you will definitely win Jake back with a discussion. He adores you.
Christopher: Hopefully, he comes to me.
Either way, Christopher was no longer sure what to do whether Jake confronted him or not. This situation could potentially be a dire situation, Christopher in the middle of all these ravenous teenagers. It was shocking how dangerous Isaac Miller had become.
Then there was Jake. Christopher had decided that nothing was going to stand in the way of himself and JoJo making it to the final two. Jake could potentially be there—an obstacle.
Christopher sighed and returned to his hut. Not much happened for the remainder of the afternoon. Isaac had spoken his peace for all he wanted to hear. Christopher waited patiently for that knock on the door to find Jake on the other side, ready for a discussion. To his disappointment, that never came.
As for the others, Taylor basked in the turnaround that had been to his benefit in the game, and JoJo spent the afternoon in her hut worrying about Jake. Elisabeth slept most of the afternoon while Ashley and Isaac enjoyed the entertainment up at the main resort until time for the challenge.
If it was to be his last three days, he wanted to spend them with Ashley, and they greatly enjoyed themselves.
Promptly at seven o’clock, the survivors found envelopes by their doors—the tenth challenge of the game.
Elisabeth Marie stirred in just enough time to find her envelope and open it hurriedly. She read the instructions quickly.
Elisabeth: Let’s see how well you’ve been paying attention to those around you, how they speak, how they carry themselves…what they are most likely to say. We have compiled fifty quotables from you final eight as well as your fallen twelve. Match those quotes up with the person who said them. The one who has correctly matched the most quotes will win immunity. Do not help each other.
Elisabeth unfolded all the contents of the envelope and found her list of quotes. Just as instructed, there were fifty of them, and she gaped at the difficulty of most of them. The challenge was most definitely anyone’s game.
The challenge was met with a plethora of feelings. Isaac, perhaps, fretted the most.
They all began at once, some of them well into the night.
However, Christopher found himself in the hotel lobby working on his challenge in the wee hours of the morning. Taylor happened upon him, fully expecting himself to be the only castway awake at such an odd hour.
Taylor: What are you doing up?
Christopher looked over at him groggily then trained his eyes back on the quotes before him.
Christopher: I couldn’t sleep.
Taylor: Me too.
Christopher: Well, here we are.
They grew quiet as Taylor sat down next to him, and they both quietly scanned the quotations.
Christopher: Isaac came at me hard today. He told me how hard the past tribal council was for him and only him. I reminded him Jenne left right before.
Taylor: He was pretty sad, wasn’t he?
Christopher: Yeah, it was definitely a different look for him. The Jon thing is weird, huh? That he isn’t showing up for anything.
Taylor put his pen down and looked up quickly.
Taylor: Where are you going with this? Do you want to keep Isaac over Jon?
Christopher: It does seem crappy to dump anyone before Jon at this point. What do you think?
Taylor shrugged.
Taylor: We’ve dumped twelve people before him. Isaac is dangerous, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Karen pulls Jon anyway.
Christopher looked down and nodded.
Taylor: Let’s just wait and see what happens.
Christopher: I am very much open to what you guys want.
Taylor chuckled aloud.
Taylor: This is the dilemma I like…trying to figure out who to boot rather than trying to figure out how not to get booted.
Christopher laughed at that.
Christopher: Well, Isaac is working so d**n hard that it is insane. He sees you as the most likely boot from our group since people were after you before. He…um…isn’t exactly a fan. Anyway, eff him.
Taylor: I’m not an Isaac fan either.
Christopher smiled as Taylor put his head down and went back to work figuring out quotes. It was exactly where he wanted Taylor to be—firmly on their side and firmly against Isaac should they choose to swing in that direction.
Nodding, Christopher looked down at his own piece of paper and began studying the quotes. Some of them were obvious, some of them were more secure. Many of them could have gone twenty different ways, and that was the most frustrating.
Isaac Miller stayed up a good while doing the challenge, determined to walk away with the win. He worked on it down to the last minute until he fell sleep over his paper and pen in the bed. It had been a most exhausting day.

Day 29
Yet as soon as the sun peeked its way over the horizon, Isaac was up working on the challenge once again. He was finished by midmorning, leaving himself ample time to check, doublecheck, and triplecheck his answers until he was confident he had them right.
Just as planned, he met Ashley Miller at the main resort for an early lunch.
Ashley: Did you do the challenge?
Just like the rest, Ashley had been hard at work since receiving the instructions, but found it more frustrating than perhaps the others did.
Isaac: Yes, it was hard.
She groaned.
Ashley: I know, it was really hard.
Isaac: I finished it, though.
Ashley: Yeah, I did too.
She cringed at the difficulty of it.
Ashley: Good luck with that. I hope one of us wins it.
Isaac nodded solemnly.
Isaac: I think we’re in trouble.
Ashley: I don’t think we’re in trouble…I know it.
Isaac: I may be voted out next.
Ashley: Hopefully one of us wins, but I’m sure the others helped each other.
Isaac: Well, they weren’t allowed to.
Ashley shrugged and looked at her nails.
Ashley: I’m sure they did anyway.
Isaac didn’t know and didn’t want to accuse them of anything. That would accomplish nothing.
Isaac: I hope they vote out Jon next. He is not even here.
Ashley cocked her head and looked at Isaac as if a revelation had come to her.
Ashley: Maybe Jon’s gone because they took out Missie and Kyle.
Isaac: Possibly. I was good friends with Kyle and Missie, and they took them both out from me. I just feel like I could be next.
He looked up at her hopefully.
Isaac: It’s not over yet. I could maybe get Jake and JoJo to help us, but you can’t say antying about it.
Ashley nodded quickly.
Ashley: If it works, I’m down for it.
Isaac: I think that Chris and Taylor need to leave—Chris especially.
She looked at him with question.
Ashley: Why Chris?
Isaac: He holds all the power.
Ashley: I know, but I don’t think you should tell that to JoJo or Jake.
Isaac: Oh I won’t.
Ashley regarded him for a moment. She had to admire his determination, but she wasn’t feeling the same confidence. Simply put, it didn’t look good for them. It would take nothing short of a miracle and Ashley wasn’t feeling that miracle.
In all actuality, Ashley decided it was time to start adjusting her outlook if she was soon to be voted out. From now on, she would be grateful for how far she had made it in the game. No more, no less.
Midmorning quickly turned into early afternoon. Christopher still hadn’t received a confrontation with Jake. By two o’clock, he was wondering if Jake was going to hold all the Isaac information to himself. Would that mean he was planning on turning?
Christopher paced within his hut. At the moment, Jake Erickson held more power than anyone could imagine.
Stopping to look out the window, Christopher sighed and blew a lock of blonde hair from his forehead. He could wait all day and accomplish nothing.
Meanwhile, JoJo ventured out to make sure all their ducks were a firm set against Isaac. Her heart wanted Jon to go first, but her head was saying that Isaac had suddenly become dangerous.
Her prime target was Taylor, and his ears were open and eager.
JoJo: Do you wish Isaac to go next or Jon? Or someone else?
Taylor: Isaac.
He arched his brow as he looked at her, as if to question her sanity. JoJo nodded in return.
JoJo: I thought Jon originally, but I think Isaac is trying too hard.
Taylor: Isaac is trying way too hard.
JoJo: He will be able to swing someone if he has enough time.
Taylor: I think Isaac is the person that needs to go. Jon and Ashley can’t do anything.
JoJo: He should have just stayed quiet.
Taylor: If Isaac wins this challenge then we go for Jon.
JoJo: Right, and it is annoying that Jon is not even here.
Taylor grinned.
Taylor: But Isaac is even more annoying.
JoJo looked up thoughtfully.
JoJo: If we vote Isaac, Karen might say that Jon is gone too…
Taylor: And we kill two birds with one stone. You know what would be great? Isaac gets voted out, Jon is removed, then Ashley is voted out the following tribal council. That means we have like a week before the five of us kill each other. You, me, Chris, Lizzie, and Jake.
JoJo managed a weak smile. That wasn’t anything she was looking forward to. Many feelings were going to get hurt, and she knew it.
JoJo: That’s a great five though.
Taylor: Agreed.
JoJo: Every season represented. I thought season four would dominate just having all those numbers.
Taylor: I knew we wouldn’t. We did exactly what I thought we would do—kill each other.
He paused and grinned at JoJo.
Taylor: And I think it’s funny that Lizzie and I are the only two still here. The two that can’t win immunity.
JoJo: You know, after all this, I’ll be happy if any of you guys win. It sounds like bull, but I know it’s true.
Taylor shrugged and eyed her carefully.
Taylor: Well, I’m pretty sure I’m fifth in this alliance, so…
JoJo: Funny you would say that.
And it was ironic, especially after she and Christopher had recently discussed it. Then there was the whole thing with Isaac’s new scheme.
JoJo: I wouldn’t say you are fifth.
She looked at him fondly and covered his hand with her own.
JoJo: You’ve been a good friend to your friends. They are lucky to have you.
Taylor sighed in disappointment.
Taylor: I really wish I could say the same for them. Only thing is, yeah I wanted to take Chris out for a while because I didn’t want to give Jenne the option of taking Chris over me.
JoJo: I understand greatly.
Taylor: After what happened in season four…
JoJo: You got hurt, and you were smart to help get Tenzil out. As an outsider, I was very suspicious when they wouldn’t vote for him.
Taylor nodded, not really wanting to remember too much from that time. It definitely hurt when Jenne and Beth both dropped him for Tenzil at the final two. He never saw it coming. He changed the subject, and they chattered on for a good while.
Christopher still waited patiently. When there was a gentle knock on his door, he bounded to his feet and jerked the door open. Only he found Elisabeth Marie on the other side. He was slightly disappointed but tried not to show it as she stood there smiling cutely at him.
Elisabeth: Hey, Chris!
He reached out and hugged her, pulling her into the hut.
Christopher: Hey, you!
Elisabeth: I have a question. Who are we voting for tomorrow?
Christopher: I think it’s between Isaac and Jon. Isaac is stirring up some big trouble, trying to sway Jake. Sadly, it apparently almost worked. On the one hand, it kind of sucks to keep Jon over Isaac, but it almost feels like the Kyle scenario. We should boot the stronger player and play it safe. What do you think?
She bit her lip thoughtfully.
Elisabeth: That’s a hard one because I do believe that Isaac deserves to stay in the game longer. But obviously, someone working their butt off is harder to beat than someone not there.
She giggled, and Christopher nodded.
Elisabeth: Pro’s and con’s.
She thought about it once more.
Elisabeth: I would say Isaac just because it will be pretty clear cut that we all are the final five. But if the majority swings toward Jon, then I don’t see a problem with it.
Christopher: Then we’ll vote Isaac, and I will pass that on.
Elisabeth: I just think it’s in our best interest.
She sighed happily and hugged Christopher tightly.
Elisabeth: Alright, I’m finishing up this immunity then taking a nap. See you later.
He smiled at her as she left. He closed the door and leaned against it. He was decided that Jake was never going to discuss Isaac with him.
Meanwhile, Jake was caught in his own discussion with Isaac.
Jake: I have to say, you gave me a lot to think about.
Isaac: Really? I hoped I would. I need you, Jake—badly. I know you probably have plans, but I think you may need me too.
Jake put up a hand.
Jake: Ok, I understand all that. Because right now, you are dead meat, honestly.
Isaac’s face dropped.
Isaac: Yes, I am.
Jake: It might be Jon, Ashley, then you, but the way things stand, you are sixth place without an immunity win.
Isaac: So, you’re saying that Jon and Ashley will go before me?
Jake: It’s possible.
Isaac: Oh please let it happen!
Jake studied him for a moment.
Jake: Taylor may be pushing to vote you out now, though.
Isaac: Of course. I just can’t stand to see Jon beat me.
Jake: Well, Jon beat Missie, Kyle, and Beth—how fair is that?
Isaac: I know, but when is enough enough? It can’t continue that much longer.
Jake: If it goes on much longer, Karen will kick him out. I’ve been pushing for Jon though.
Isaac paused and put a hand on Jake’s shoulder.
Isaac: I just want you to know that if you will work with me, I will be one hundred percent loyal to you.
Jake pulled away and paced.
Jake: My hands are tied, though. We don’t have four solid votes, you and I.
Isaac: In my opinion, you can’t fully trust the people you are working with. I don’t think you are going to the final two if you stick with them. They will never let the jury vote for you because you will win for sure.
Jake regarded him for a moment. The words rang in his head, almost causing an ache.
Isaac: You guys who are left have a bunch of tangled alliances and messyness.
Jake bristled at that, but Isaac held up his hand.
Isaac: I, on the other hand, have lost all my alliances.
Jake: Ok, true. But I’m just saying. What do you honestly want me to do?
Isaac looked around quickly, took Jake by the shoulder and led him to a nondescript corner of the hotel lobby.
Isaac: Here’s what I’m saying. You will have me who will take you to the final two, and you know that I will. I am loyal to my alliances, and I can have Ash. All we need to do is maneuver one person.
Jake: Um, who? Taylor hates you.
Isaac: JoJo. She’ll vote for Lis.
Isaac noted his hesitation and sighed.
Isaac: Ok, well, I am just giving you an idea. Just sit on it.
Jake: I will think.
Isaac: You have a good shot at winning this game if you keep me in.
Jake: Honestly, just win immunity. Go on…run. You’re capable.
Isaac: I’ll try, but there is tough competition.
Jake shrugged.
Jake: Otherwise, things are beyond my control. I’m only one vote. But if you are right…I will need an immunity run of my own toward the end.
Isaac: Yes, you will.
It was quite possible. Jake wasn’t for sure just how close Christopher and JoJo were, and just how far Christopher would drag Elisabeth along.
The reality was…Isaac Miller made a lot of sense.
Christopher had just about given up before a knock came at his door, and he was given just what he had been waiting for. Jake stood there with an ashen face, looking up to Christopher as if he had been caught doing something terribly wrong. Christopher greeted him warmly at once and welcomed him in.
Jake sighed as he came in and spilled at once.
Jake: Ok, so Isaac wrote me a note. He basically told me he was going to bring me to the final two. His original plan was to vote you out this round.
Christopher crossed his arms as he listened, trying to act surprised and ignorant.
Jake: He was already counting me as one of the four votes which also contained Ashley, Jon, and “maybe” JoJo. He said her feelings could be manipulated.
Christopher: He is nuts.
Jake nodded quickly.
Jake: Well, now he’s changed his tune and has said he will vote Jon out.
Christopher: Well, I’ve always liked Isaac. I mean, I just went to you today to see if we could keep him, but whatever.
Jake: He has said a crapload of bad things about you.
Christopher flinched.
Christopher: Wow! I suppose I should be less inclined to push to keep him then?
Jake: He told me he had an alliance with you twice and that you are dominating the game, dominating people’s emotions, blah blah blah.
Christopher: That is a lot of credit.
Jake: I suppose to get me into his plan, he said the final four was going to be you, JoJo, Lis, and Taylor.
Jake narrowed his eyes at that and watched Christopher carefully for his response.
Christopher: I have no final four with anybody, and I certainly wouldn’t tell Isaac if I did! How dumb would that be?
Christopher shook his head incredulously.
Christopher: Wow, he hit you up pretty hard.
Jake: Well, I wouldn’t be able to do it, so it is not an issue.
Christopher pressed his lips together.
Christopher: I’m not sure I know how to respond to that.
Jake: I don’t know. I’m just saying there’s no need to worry.
Christopher: What don’t you know?
Jake: I have been with you guys since day one.
Christopher: Then you should know.
Jake: Well, he dumped a lot on me at once.
Christopher: I don’t think it’s my time to go. Not with Ash and Jon and even a few others here.
Jake: At the same time, I don’t know if Isaac deserves to go yet, either.
Jake stood up to him, almost challenging.
Christopher: But I approached you about that.
Jake: So I am just supposed to lead him on? It just seems like such a mean thing to do to him.
Christopher: Leading him on is sort of pointless. I don’t see why anyone would.
Jake crossed his arms.
Jake: Then what do I say?
Christopher chuckled aloud and clapped him on the back.
Christopher: Oh you are in for a fun few days.
Jake: It hasn’t happened to me yet. Person voted out has never really been on my case. So, my turn I guess.
Christopher: Thank God! I have enough of them hating my guts and telling me to eff off as they leave.
Jake managed a laugh, but he didn’t find it at all humorous. He really wanted to keep Isaac over the other two, but it looked like Christopher was no longer going to budge from taking Isaac out.
Still, Jake had a lot to think about.
Christopher had a new resolve once Jake left him. It was time for Isaac Miller to go once and for all.
Jake: I’m all better now.
JoJo beamed at him as he stood at the front door.
Jake: I talked to Chris, and JoJo…Isaac is banking on me getting you to vote for Lis at the next vote.
JoJo frowned.
JoJo: “Getting me”. Mama doesn’t like that phrase a darned bit.
Still she shook it off.
JoJo: I know you think Lis should go. I will consider things as we get closer, but I want to vote Jon this time…I really do.
Jake: I do too.
JoJo: Jake, I want you to do what’s best for you. I want you to stick with Chris over Isaac, but I’ll never say it again. I’ll always support your decision.

Jake: JoJo, I’ve never wavered. I want us to fight it out at final three.
She smiled at him.
JoJo: I want us three there too. I’d love whoever wins with certainty.
Jake sighed and turned away momentarily.
Jake: I don’t even know why I care about all this. Isaac hasn’t given a crap for me all game, and now I suddenly care what happens to him? But now, he’s making me mad enough.
JoJo: He banked on that, sweetie. He knew you were a good guy.
It was true enough. Isaac had gotten into his head. Still Jake felt for who was once his strong ally.
The day went on, and seven of the final eight slaved madly over the challenge, choosing any of the original twenty castaways for the fifty quotes before them. JoJo, having Beth’s journal from her previous auction award felt a slight edge, but any quotes other than Beth’s were guesses.
They all worked on their own time as individuals, abiding by the “no help” rule, but each wondered if the others were breaking it.
After a while, closer to the end of the challenge, Jake grew tired of working and threw in names for his final quotes. He either had it or he didn’t so he put the finishing touches on his work and ambled around the resort.
He found JoJo in the coffee shop sipping on coffee and making her last guesses.
Jake: How do you think you’re doing on that challenge?
JoJo looked up and smiled.
JoJo: Well, I’m finished. Many guesses.
He took a seat next to her.
Jake: Yeah, same here.
JoJo: As long as we all did it without help, I think it will be fair, and we have equal chances.
She grinned at him.
JoJo: I found one in Beth’s journal. I’ve been reading her journal for hours.
Jake: You have an advantage then.
JoJo shrugged.
JoJo: I suppose. In hindsight it was obvious, though.
Jake: Beth has a distinct way of talking.
JoJo: The only way Isaac will win this challenge is if he has help—which I can see happening.
Jake: From who?
JoJo: Jon, Ashley…you?
Jake shook his head quickly.
Jake: Not me.
JoJo: Nah, not my Jakey.
A silence fell over them for a moment. The struggle was between Jon and Isaac. Jake really wanted to keep Isaac for a while; JoJo really wanted to play it safe. Neither of them particularly wanted to broach the subject, but it needed to be done.
JoJo: So tomorrow, Jakey, whatever you want. But just like you’re not interested in fourth or fifth—I’m not either. I’m not in the teenage coalition, and I know this.
Jake: I have a question to ask you…
JoJo arched her eyebrows and waited, but Jake hesitated.
Jake: But after the challenge.
JoJo: You should ask me now, ‘cause you really want to.
Jake: Yes, I do, but it’s about the challenge, and I’m so not a cheater, JoJo.
JoJo felt a flush of relief in the pit of her stomach.
JoJo: I thought you were getting ready to ask me to vote off Chris or something.
Jake: No!
JoJo: I know Isaac got all up in your head.
Jake: He got nowhere with me. If anything, Isaac coming after me just confirmed that I wanted to stick with you guys.
JoJo smiled at him and patted his hand on the table.
Jake: He’s too whiney.
JoJo: I appreciate that he’s working hard.
Jake nodded thoughtfully.
Jake: I will say that for the longest time I was going to attempt to finagle him into the final four. I really don’t know why.
JoJo: You are a good friend.
Jake: But I had no better friends that I would have wanted their other than you and Chris.
JoJo: I like Isaac. He is likeable and I feel like I respect him more than Ashley or Jon because he is playing.
Jake: He is, but he wasn’t playing hard for the longest time.
JoJo narrowed her eyes at him.
JoJo: He has said that about you, too.
He considered that for a moment. He could let it sting, but Jake couldn’t care less about such petty matters.
Jake: Suddenly, now I’m his best friend. Now that his dear, dear Missie is gone.
JoJo nodded, and for the first time felt completely safe in the game. Jake had more or less solidified himself on their side. Elisabeth was a solid vote with Christopher, and once Isaac was gone, Taylor would have no say.
JoJo sat back to relish the moment with her young friend.
Hours before the deadline, quote sheets were submitted, and seven hopefuls returned to the lobby of the main resort for the final tally. All but Jon Kennedy gathered around as Kyle and Karen stood side by side, both grinning.
Karen raised an evelope before her.
Karen: Ok, the tally is in. This was a very difficult challenge, but many of you are very insightful to what your fellow castaways were thinking and how they talked. Out of fifty possible correct answers…
JoJo looked at Christopher and gave him a light pinch. Elisabeth Marie clasped her hands before her hopefully. Isaac looked down nervously.
Karen: In last place with no submission…Jon Kennedy.
That came as no surprise and many scowled at Jon’s abandonment—especially Isaac.
Karen: In seventh place with nine correct answers…Elisabeth Marie!
Despite her placement, Elisabeth smiled graciously and curtseyed. Christopher squeezed her arm.
Karen: In sixth place with eleven correct answers…Ashley Miller!
Ashley pressed her lips together and forced a smile. The disappointment was evident. She exchanged glances with Isaac, but when Karen announced Isaac in fifth place with thirteen correct answers, both of them frowned. Isaac’s heart sank.
Karen: In fourth place with fifteen correct answers…Taylor Napier!
Taylor nodded, not particularly worried about his loss, but disappointed coming down from the high of his previous win. Christopher and JoJo looked at each, both attentive to his impressive showing in challenges of late.
Jake took a deep breath and looked down.
Karen: In third place with nineteen correct answers…Jake Erickson!
Still Jake smiled and received the applause graciously. JoJo and Christopher looked at each other and held hands.
Karen: Which brings us to the final two…
Karen grinned slyly as she looked around them.
Karen: And it looks like we have a tie, and please note that JoJo and Christopher did not work on this challenge together. Their answers were completely different. Both JoJo and Christopher completed this challenge with twenty-four—almost half—correct answers!
Applause went around. Christopher and JoJo smiled at each other but each knew the scoring looked suspicious, and their impressive scoring could possibly put targets on both of them. Nevertheless, they accepted the praise greatfully.
Karen: We will inform you of a tiebreaker as soon as possible.
With that, Karen and Kyle were gone, and the others were left to wonder after them.
Taylor: You lucky bitch, you!
Christopher smiled as Taylor approached him, and the others dispersed to mingle.
Christopher: Well, I didn’t win yet!
Taylor: So what are we going to do about Jon?
Christopher looked around, noting the absence of Jon. He also noted Isaac already hounding JoJo. He watched them for a quick moment.
Christopher: I think Karen will remove Jon. I say we worry about Isaac and let them worry about Jon.
Taylor followed his gaze.
Taylor: That’s what I told Jake. He doesn’t want to get rid of Isaac before Jon. Neither do I, but I think we have to.
Christopher: I think Lizzie is all down for voting Isaac, just going off the Missie thing.
Taylor: Then we should go Isaac.
They continued to watch Isaac in the distance for a moment. The answers to the quotes had been passed out, and after briefly scanning all the correct match-ups, Taylor couldn’t help but notice one quote from Christopher’s mouth.
The curiousity ate at him, so after a bit of hesitation, he ventured a question.
Taylor: So…who were you referring to in quote number forty-five, Chris?
Without even looking, Christopher knew exactly which quote he referred to. However, he shrugged, gave Taylor a pat, and walked away.
Taylor considered for a moment, but Jake passed and caught his attention.
Taylor: I still think think we have to get rid of Isaac over Jon.
Jake: I know what you mean, but I don’t think it’s fair in the slightest to let Jon go on.
Taylor: I agree.
He motioned toward JoJo and Isaac in the distance.
Taylor: But then again, Isaac can cause so much trouble.
Jake: He can cause trouble, but there is no one that will listen to him. See ya around.
Jake grinned crookedly and left the ballroom after Christopher.
Isaac pressed JoJo hard that evening. JoJo was highly uncomfortable with the whole discussion, but Isaac was merciless.
Isaac: JoJo, you know you want to vote for Jon. Just do it, please. Don’t keep someone in who is self-voting. You know how bad that will look to the jury.
JoJo: People think Karen will remove him.
Isaac rolled his eyes.
Isaac: Gah! Don’t give me that! Please.
JoJo cocked her head indignantly and frowned at him.
JoJo: Umm…I think she will.
Isaac: It will look so bad if you guys don’t vote him out! And you don’t want to vote for me…I’m still supporting you, meaning you can use me.
JoJo looked around, all around for any place of escape. She then dropped her eyes to the ground, and Isaac sighed in defeat.
Isaac: I guess if it fits your game plan, then go ahead and vote me out.
JoJo: Isaac, you sound mad at me, but I assure you I’m not thinking about status or hurting you at all.
Isaac: I’m not mad at all. I’m just letting you know that I care for you, and if you have no alliance then you will get eaten up. I wouldn’t necessarily trust the rest of the people in this game.
JoJo: I don’t trust everyone, Isaac, but it has changed with every tribal council. It’s just not as big of a deal to me. I know when you all decide it’s time for me to go, I’ll just have to respect that.
Isaac knew JoJo’s time was not going to be up, but he was going to be forced to accept his fate.
Isaac: All I’m saying is if you vote Jon out you keep someone around who will help you the next vote if things get crazy. That’s all I’m saying, and I’m done.
But he knew well enough that JoJo didn’t need his vote. JoJo nodded.
JoJo: It is something to think about.
Isaac nodded but was not hopeful. Jake had not bitten; JoJo was not biting. Christopher and Taylor were a lost cause. Isaac couldn’t even bring himself to approach Elisabeth.
It was completely out of his hands. The only place of comfort he would find was with Ashley and as he headed toward her he passed Taylor with one last campaign.
Isaac: I hope you guys vote Jon.
Taylor: I think we are.
Isaac: Thank you.
Taylor: There’s no way we couldn’t vote him off.
Isaac: You guys would look like complete jerks to the jury if you didn’t.
Taylor smiled and nodded.
Taylor: I know we are. I think you are good.
He gave Isaac a pat and headed away.
Before anyone could get away from the lobby, Karen returned and corralled everyone again for Christopher and JoJo’s tie-breaker.
Karen: We will do a quick tie-breaker!
The seven of them gathered around quickly.
Christopher: Quick is good.
Karen: Are you ready?
JoJo and Christopher nodded.
Karen: The tie will be broken by a quick trivia question. The first to answer correctly will win the immunity.
Christopher: Mama will win.
Karen: Here is your question: it is modern tradition in many places to break and eat what on New Year’s Eve?
They both looked down thoughfully. Christopher glanced up with a grin.
Christopher: Champaign glasses?
All around laughed.
JoJo: Good one…I have no idear. Black-eyed peas?
Christopher: Grapes…bread!
Karen shook her head.
Karen: Here’s a small clue: it started in Saratoga, New York. Once broken, each person eats a piece to ensure good fortune for the coming year.
Christopher: Fortun cookie?
JoJo: Donuts.
Karen: It is made of hard, pink, flavored candy.
JoJo: Cotton candy…
Christopher: Candy canes!
Karen: I will accept Chris’ answer.
JoJo laughed and patted his arm.
JoJo: Nice job, toots!
Karen: The correct answer is peppermint pig.
JoJo: What in the world?
Christopher: Karen, that is insane. I have never heard this.
Karen: Congratulations, Chris, you have won immunity!
All the rest gathered around to congratulate him. Isaac was less enthused to join in on the celebration, but he did so graciously. Then he and Ashley quickly slipped out.
The rest of the evening was uneventful as Isaac had been more or less out of breath. There was nothing left to say or argue. He and Ashley spent the evening enjoying the entertainment and the island.
For many, bedtime came early, and sleep came quickly.

Day 30
Though when the sun rose for the thirtieth time in their stay on All Star Island, the question on everyone’s mind was who would Jake be voting for? It was common knowledge he wasn’t keen on voting for Isaac over Jon, particularly before a potential removal.
Christopher and JoJo had discussed the matter at length and felt that Jake needed some firming up to be on board.
JoJo met her little buddy for a late breakfast. They talked about menial things and ate for a while before JoJo took the dive.
JoJo: So who ya votin’ for?
Jake chewed for a moment, swallowed, hesitated.
Jake: As of right now…Jon.
JoJo: If Isaac goes tonight, Jon gets removed. If Jon goes tonight, Isaac stays. You get me?
Jake: Not entirely.
JoJo: If we vote Isaac tonight, it will be a double elimination. Jon will be removed for not attending his second tribal council in a row.
Jake sighed heavily.
Jake: Ok, I will vote Isaac.
The expression on his face was unmistakeable. Jake was not all on board with the ethics of the vote.
JoJo: Talk to me. What are you thinking, Jakey?
Jake: I don’t know. I’m not exactly conflicted about voting Isaac anymore…
JoJo: What are you conflicted about?
Jake: I don’t like that Ashley is staying.
JoJo: She won’t be here for long, I’d guess.
She put a hand on his.
JoJo: I do believe Isaac would help us turn the game upside down…I’m just not convinced I want the game turned.
Jake: Exactly. I’m fine with the way it’s going.
JoJo: Are you sure?
Jake nodded quietly, then scrutinized JoJo carefully.
Jake: I’m still not crazy about Taylor and Lizzie.
JoJo: Me either. I’m crazy about you and Chris.
Jake: I would not be happy if one of them made the final three.
JoJo: Then you would regret not working with Isaac.
Jake looked deep into JoJo’s eyes.
Jake: No. I feel secure.
JoJo nodded. After her discussion with Christopher about the threat Jake posed at the final five, she knew she couldn’t offer the security he wanted, or said he felt. She felt a slight pang of guilt, but the bridge had yet to be crossed.
Needless to say, Jake was approached the entire length of the day. The ball seemed to be in his court, and it wasn’t a position he enjoyed.
Taylor: Isaac is selling us the same story.
Taylor was sure to put his two cents in before the tribal council. What he had was good information, and he hoped Jake would grasp it.
Taylor: He told me that JoJo is emotional.
Jake: He told me the same.
Taylor: He told me that I’m out at five if I don’t go with him.
Jake: He told me…actually, exactly the same thing. I guess we’re both trying for fifth. Did he tell you that Chris is going to backstab you?
Taylor: Yep and not to let Chris run with the game.
That sad reality set in. Jake knew what he had to do.
Jake: I almost feel sorry for him.
Taylor snickered.
Taylor: Almost.
Christopher also came to him for more reassurance as tribal council approached.
Christopher: My instinct says Isaac after the drama. I think he has a better chance at immunity, too.
Jake: Ashley isn’t going to pull an upset.
Christopher: We would finally have an easy boot if it was just Ashley, and we could all relax.
Christopher looked at him for a moment and came back a different route.
Christopher: Are you sure you’re ok with Isaac? I know you have been conflicted, and I don’t want us to do anything that makes you feel bad.
Jake: Obviously Ashley doesn’t deserve it nearly as much, but we don’t want to make a mistake and have Isaac beat us all.
Christopher: I just want you to be ok with it.
Jake nodded. If he wanted to advance and win the game, he would have to be ok with it.
On the other side of things, Taylor Napier had no qualms getting rid of Isaac. Isaac would be the last of his game “enemies.”
In all actuality the whole thing was amusing for Taylor. He came from being the next one to go, to the one with power, to a good standing position. It had been fun watching Isaac scramble.
Christopher made it a point to walk with Taylor on his way to tribal council that evening. His work with Jake was finished, and Taylor was the next loose end he wanted tied—even though they were certain Taylor was firmly against Isaac. The trick was keeping Taylor firmly with them for the final five scenario. Christopher needed Taylor to feel safe enough to not rally with his fellow teenagers against himself and JoJo. What better way to secure him than to praise him?
No last minute efforts were fruitless.
Taylor: Ready for tribal council?
Christopher: Sure. How about you?
Taylor: I am.
They walked along in silence for a moment before Christopher looked up, affectionately as it seemed.
Christopher: I really appreciate that you have given me space on the whole final five thing. I am guessing you are going insane—just knowing you. I can tell you are just trying to let things be.
Taylor: I am. I’m not gonna push you.
Christopher: I am just trying not to deal with it. Just so you know, and I really ask that you keep this to yourself. I don’t want to see it used against me. I am not thinking you at final five.
Taylor looked over at him quickly.
Christopher: I don’t know what I’m thinking, but I figure you would like some reassurance.
Taylor: I’m not thinking you, either—just so you know.
Christopher shrugged.
Christopher: If I go, I go. I just worry over you stressing. I just thought I’d say that little bit, then start ignoring it again.
Taylor: We have to get through Isaac and Ashley first.
The walked on quietly.
Taylor: Isaac told me you were taking Lizzie to the final two.
Christopher: JoJo told me that. I have no final two with anyone. What is funny is that Isaac has voted for you yet has tried to get you to believe that I am the one who is out to get you.
Taylor chuckled.
Taylor: Trust me, Chris. Better to be with the devil you know than the devil you don’t.
Christopher grew silent as they walked. Had Taylor just said that about him? Had he just called him the game devil?
Taylor: You get my drift?
Of course he did, and Christopher didn’t like it one bit.
Christopher: Yeah. No jokes please.
He let Taylor go on ahead of him to the council area and ambled thoughfully. JoJo had informed him of an interesting discussion with Isaac earlier about how heartless Christopher was. Now Taylor calls him the devil.
Looking out across the ocean, Christopher finally felt the sting.
There was no doubt the jury was going to think that. It hurt him to think people looked at him that way.
Sighing, he continued on to the council area.

Tribal council 10
Karen and Kyle stood at the podium and waited while seven castaways seated themselves at the stone benches. It was noticed by all that Jon, yet again, didn’t show up. Karen’s disdain was quite visible.
She turned to her left and waved a hand toward the corner.
Karen: Let’s bring in our jury…
Drew was the first to enter, followed by Beth and Missie. They came in quietly and took their seats adjacent to the castways. Drew and Beth sat gently, but Missie sat hard and crossed her arms, glaring at her former opponents.
Karen: Missie…voted out at our last tribal council.
Missie smirked.
Karen: Welcome, Tribe Feste to tribal council number ten. Unfortunately, one of you will be leaving the game tonight.
Without further hesitation, Karen nodded toward Ashley.
Karen: Ashley, what has been your strategy in this game thus far?
She looked around quickly and shrugged. All eyes went to her.
Ashley: I don’t really have a strategy. I just play the game.
The three jurors looked at each other disgustedly.
Karen: Do you feel you deserve to win this game?
Ashley: Well, I think others that have put more into it should win, but if I do, that’s not a problem.
Beth Sowles was particularly irritated by such a response, and her face showed it.
Karen: Is there anything you would’ve done differently?
She looked to Isaac for help and whispered.
Ashley: What’s with all the questions?
He merely shrugged. Ashley returned to Karen.
Ashley: I guess do more.
Karen nodded.
Karen: Isaac, how hard was it to see people turn on and vote Missie out?
Isaac threw a glance across the arena to Missie, and she smiled at him. It was nice to see the jury smiling at someone, and if he thought he would survive the tribal council it would do well for him.
Isaac: It was hard to see Missie voted out. She was my friend and alliance. I wasn’t surprised to see people turn.
He turned and scanned his opponents briefly.
Isaac: Not with this group.
Karen: Have you played honestly? Have you blindsided or attempted to blindside anyone who trusted you?
Isaac: I have never blindsided anyone who trusted me. But…if you break my trust, I break yours. I’m not a fool, and I have probably played this game about ninety-nine percent honestly. A few times I have been a bit vague. When I need to be real, I am, and people know when I am.
Karen: Do you have any loyalty to anyone left in this game?
Isaac smiled and looked around. Missie leaned forward with interest. Isaac: Do I?
At that Missie smiled once again.
Karen nodded and looked at Jake.
Karen: Jake, what strategy if any are you using compared to your previous seasons?
Jake: Well, first off, in season one my strategy, from seeing the episodes, was play crappily—which I did to a great extent. I think in season three I had my head on a little straighter and figured out what I was doing. I think I’m more or less using the same strategy. It’s really who I am and so far is working for me.
Drew frowned visibly and nodded. Jake caught him out of the corner of his eye but ignored him.
Karen: Did you feel as if you needed immunity tonight? Jake: I tried hard for immunity. I don’t feel extremely secure tonight, but I haven’t gotten an inkling that I’m going. If so—these guys have hid it well.
Karen: Christopher…
Christopher took his eyes from Jake and looked up to Karen with a smile.
Karen: You’ve been very vocal about drama in this game. Do you think you’ve removed all the drama, or do you think you may add to the drama yourself?
He shrugged.
Christopher: I think both. We’ve been pretty much drama-free this cycle, and it has been nice. But both…it takes twenty to tango, and I am one of the twenty. I’ve definitely had my moments.
Karen: Do you ever wonder that what you say is going to come back and haunt you at the next tribal council?
Christopher: Sure…because it has. It has haunted other people, too.
He swept the jury with his eyes.
Christopher: This game hasn’t exactly been about keeping secrets, so I definitely think that things I say here could haunt me, too.
Missie rolled her eyes exaggeratedly and sat back. Drew followed in suit, but Beth sat quietly, taking it all in.
Karen: What were your thoughts about Missie’s parting words at the last tribal council?
Christopher looked at Missie directly. Missie arched her brow and engaged his gaze, almost challenging him.
Christopher: I’m not sure what to make of it. Missie is a firecracker. I know she knows the game, and I know she has voted out friends before. It could’ve been in jest.
He turned to Karen.
Christopher: She could’ve meant it. We became friends, and leaving sucks.
Karen: Do you think you needed immunity tonight?
Christopher: Yes. It is the only thing that guarantees safety. I know Isaac campaigned against me for a bit, so having this…
He patted the necklace around his neck.
Christopher: This definitely makes me feel better.
Missie and Drew looked at each other quickly and simultaneously simulated gagging themselves. Karen saw it. The entire remaining cast saw it. Christopher stewed.
Karen: Why are you voting the person you are voting tonight and who made the decision?
Christopher looked over at Isaac.
Christopher: The person I am voting knows why. We talked about it today. It’s a game of keeping yourself safe. The weird part is…while I was being campaigned against, I was trying to secure three more days for that person.
Missie and Drew portrayed vomiting once again. Isaac laughed.
Isaac: Wow, that’s a lot of puke. Don’t know if I want to walk through that when I leave.
No one else found it amusing, so no laughs ensued.
Karen: Anything else, Chris?
He only glared at the jury.
Christopher: No, I’m done.
Karen: Taylor…
Taylor took a deep breath.
Taylor: Oh, boy.
Karen: What would you do if you were in the jury, and at the final two it was revealed that someone had lied about their identity the entire game? Would it affect your vote?
Taylor gaped and immediately shot a glance at Christopher. Christopher shrugged in return. Taylor stammered.
Taylor: No, actually, it wouldn’t. If they were able to make it to the final two, it was because of how they played—not who they were outside.
Still he looked at Christopher, but Christopher held up clean hands.
Karen: Do you think you would be a worthy winner?
Taylor: I think so. Some players in this game mistakenly believe that it is not a good thing to have friends while playing Survivor. You have to have friends to win. It’s a physical and mental game, but above that it’s a social one. If you don’t have friends, then you don’t have a social game. I think my friendships are what has led me to the final eight.
Missie smirked and nodded.
Karen: Who do you trust most and least?
Taylor: Umm…myself, and…you!
Everyone laughed at that. Even Karen laughed, and Taylor was proud of his mood-lightener.
Taylor: I have no idea what you’re going to pull. At least I can trust some of these guys to backstab me.
Karen laughed as some more as nods went around.
Karen: Good answer.
Christopher: Agreed.
Karen: JoJo…
At that Beth straightened and trained her attention on JoJo. JoJo was slightly distracted but put her focus on Karen.
Karen: There are obviously many types of strategy in play here. If you were on the jury, would you vote for someone who used the “I don’t have a choice” strategy or the “In your face, I’m voting you strategy?”
JoJo frowned and balked in answering. She looked down thoughtfully for a moment.
JoJo: It would depend on other factors—not solely on those two choices. People might have good reasons for both strategies, and I would need more information before giving my final vote.
Missie shook her head. Beth remained expressionless as she watched JoJo’s every move.
Karen: Name one thing you’ve done in the game that you’re most proud of.
JoJo: Making genuine connections with a wide range of people.
There was noise from the jury as Missie and Drew shifted in their seats, all the while rolling their eyes. They received many frowns and glares from the cast, but Karen pressed on.
Karen: Name one thing you’ve done in the game that you’re most disgusted with.
JoJo looked at Beth for a moment then at the ground. Beth crossed her arms as she waited for an answer.
JoJo: Early, early in the game when I voted Tenzil, and he remained in the game…he came to me upset about the votes, and I pretended I hadn’t voted for him.
Beth sighed audibly, and looked down. It was obviously not the answer she had hoped for.
Karen: Final question, JoJo…how do you feel about Jon still being in the game?
JoJo: I really would like to see him around. I thought he was really motivated to play the game hard.
Drew covered his mouth to stifle a laugh. Isaac raised his hand.
Karen: Yes, Isaac?
He nodded and scanned the other six castaways around him.
Isaac: I just wanted everyone to know that I have really enjoyed playing this game with you final eight. Honestly, I really have. I have been honored and have loved getting to know all of you. I just wanted you all to know that if I go tonight. Good luck to you all.
JoJo looked up to him and smiled. JoJo: You are a class act, Isaac.
Christopher: He rocks.
Taylor: That was very nice, Isaac.
Jake threw a glance at the jury.
Jake: Nicer than others, certainly.
Karen: I have a couple of group discussions before we vote. The last challenge revealed several quotes made throughout the game. Were there any that surprised you?
Taylor and Christopher both raised their hands.
Christopher: I was surprised by how funny and sarcastic Jamie was. I didn’t see that side of her. And I still wonder what Drew meant by the sympathy card thing. Those were the two that stuck out for me.
Taylor: There was one that stuck out for me that I disagreed with—the statement that there are no friends in Survivor. I think it is something you must have to win. Also, I was surprised at Drew’s quotes. I didn’t know they were so good!
Drew grinned, bearing his teeth.
Karen waited, but no one else responded, so she went on to her next question.
Karen: I have one last question that I’d like you all to respond to.
Her eyes were serious as she scanned the castways.
Taylor: Ruh roh.
Karen: Jon was not at the last tribal council. He didn’t participate in the last two challenges. He is not here tonight. None of you have seen nor heard from him for six days. How do you justify keeping him in the game and voting out active players?
The jury was especially interested in this topic and they sat deathly still.
Isaac: I don’t justify it.
He looked around quickly.
Isaac: But that could be because I am the one leaving tonight if Jon doesn’t go. Obviously, my vote is for Jon. I understand why Chris would vote for me, but the rest puzzle me.
JoJo: I have no reason to justify keeping Jon in this game if he self-votes.
Taylor: If keeping Jon benefits me in the long run…I’m keeping Jon. It may sound like the easy way out, but is the easy way so bad?
There was a murmur of movement from the jury as they looked at each other and rolled their eyes.
Jake: This is the way I see it…if Jon is here, that’s one person in the game that I know will not win. I’m sorry but if voting out the competition keeps me in the game, I’m going to do it.
He looked directly at the jury.
Jake: It’s annoying, it looks bad, but I’m going to do it.
There was a lull in the discussion. Nobody else moved to talk, and Karen eyed them.
Karen: I’m still waiting to hear from Ashley and Christopher.
Christopher: I got word that Isaac was trying to vote me out. I don’t see why anyone would think I would not vote against a person who wants me out. Isaac is an amazing player. If I vote Jon and keep him, he could get me out. I have to vote this way.
Karen: Ashley, what do you have to say about this?
She looked around briefly and shrugged.
Ashley: I really don’t have much to say about this.
Karen nodded, disappointed.
Karen: Ok, now that I’ve heard from all of you, I want to say something.
This was met with many exchanged glances. In all of Holidays history, Karen had refrained from making her opinion known on matters, and this was new to everyone. Some of the jury grinned at each other.
Karen: I have never and will never influence this game for any outcome I may want to see. It is your game to play. However, I do want you to know that your answers to the last question really disappoint me. This is all stars!
She looked around at them.
Karen: You were asked to play because of your outstanding ability. I am disappointed in Jon for disappearing without even an explanation. The fact that you all want to keep him around because he’s not here and not a threat…
Isaac: Is disgusting.
The jury nodded in agreement.
Karen: This makes me question if you are really deserving of the title “All Star Sole Survivor”. I reiterate that this is your game to play, but I hope you can prove at the end how much you deserve the all star title.
The council area grew deathly quiet.
Karen: Does anyone have anything they want to say about this?
Jake crossed his arms indignantly.
Jake: Yes. I understand this is All Stars. You say this is our game, but you removed Nick from season three. Are the situations different?
Karen: No, they aren’t, but I’m trying to give you all the benefit of the doubt since you are supposedly the best of the best.
She challenged him with stern eyes.
Karen: Anything else, Jake?
Sighing, he looked down.
Jake: I guess not.
Taylor: I know this will sound awful, but I disgree, Karen. I think it’s the mark of a better player to know what will help them and what will hurt them. That is what makes us decide to keep or vote out Jon.
Karen: Well, I disagree.
Taylor: I’m not looking to get into a fight with you but you just—
Karen: I’m not fighting. I’m just stating my opinion, same as you.
Christopher: The whole Jon thing is a mystery to me. The guy was playing the whole game until recently. He pretty much disappeared. So, I don’t know…talking about the kid like he hasn’t been here the whole game isn’t really fair. I just want that out there. He did play for most of the game. It isn’t like he’s been carried for ten tribal councils.
Karen: I know that—
Christopher: It isn’t really an argument for or against him, I just would like to see it characterized a little bit more reasonably. The speech was pretty intense.
Karen: But you all are here, and he hasn’t been for some time. It’s not like I made my statement the moment he disappeared.
Christopher nodded.
Christopher: Understood.
She clapped her hands and addressed all of them uniformly. The jury was visibly agitated by their responses.
Karen: I didn’t want to start an argument or contraversy, I simply wanted to state my take on the situation.
She looked around once more briefly. The discussion was apparently over.
Karen: Ok, Christopher has immunity; everyone else is vulnerable. With that said, it’s time to vote. Christopher, you’re up.
Isaac watched him make his way to the voting booth, knowing full well he was receiving his first vote of the game. JoJo followed him and returned. One by one from Elisabeth to Isaac to Taylor to Jake to Ashley, they voted and returned to their seats.
Kyle went at once to retrieve the urn and brought the votes by to Karen.
Karen: I’ll read the votes. Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave the tribal council area immediately.
She pulled the first parchment and revealed Jon’s name. Isaac knew Jon would at least be getting three votes so it came as no comfort to him.
Karen: Second vote…Jon.
Ashley looked over at Isaac hopefully.
Karen: Third vote…Isaac.
Beth sighed and shook her head. Missie massaged her temples and looked down. Drew merely nodded.
Karen: Fourth vote…Jon.
Isaac’s name was revealed two more times. Isaac had been hopeful that Jake or JoJo would have voted with him by a slight chance, but all hope was gone now. He squeezed Ashley’s hand softly.
Karen: That’s three votes Jon, three votes Isaac. Seventh vote…Isaac.
Isaac nodded and reached down to grab his bag, slinging it over his shoulder.
Karen: Eighth vote, and the thirteenth out of Survivor: Holidays All Stars, fourth member of the jury…Isaac.
Ashley reached over and hugged him tightly. The jury frowned and scolwed worse than they had all night, throwing daggers at the remaining survivors. Isaac arose and grabbed his torch and took it to Karen.
Once again a flame was doused.
Karen: Isaac, your tribe has spoken.
Missie simulated vomiting once again. Isaac stared at his dead flame for a moment before he turned to the castaways and offered a nod. He then saluted to the jury, turned and left.
A tear gleamed in Ashley Miller’s eye as she watched him disappear over the bridge and into the darkness. Jon was soon to be removed. Ashley had no allies left.
Karen glowered at the remaining survivors, as did Kyle. The jury sat shaking their heads.
Karen: You guys can head back to camp.
And they did. Six of the final seven returned to their huts for the night.
Jon Kennedy was still missing in action...

Isaac's Final Words Well, what can I say. I thought the possibility of me leaving tonight was very high, and I was thankfully not blindsided. I told JoJo that if I was going to be voted out, she better tell me. She did, and if she had not, there would have been no way she would have won my jury vote. Where did I go wrong? Well, I could have stayed another round if I had sucked up to all of them. My mistake was asking Jake for an alliance and to vote out Chris. I sent him one the night that Missie was voted out because I thought Chris was igorning. He would not respond to me on aim. Unfortunately, my rash actions cost me the game. Chris was not igorning me, and he was actually going to try and save me. Jake told Chris about what I offered him, and from there, things went down hill. I realized that Jake and Chris must have a pretty tight alliance. With this information, I worked JoJo and Taylor to the death to save me. I only needed one vote to survive TC. Jon was going to self-vote, Ashley would vote for Jon, and I would vote for Jon, meaning only one more vote was needed. I could not get either JoJo nor Taylor to swing. They wanted to keep their 5th and 4th places I suppose. I do not blame them, though, there was no gurantee that I would have been able to pull anything the next round. However, I still think they should have kept me around for one more round to keep their option opens. I guess they think that they still have a shot at advancing, or they are just complacent with 5th and 4th place. Chris will merely use Lis & Jake to go to the final 3, and then Jake and Chris will easily beat out at Lis at final 3. I have feeling that they will then vote out Lis, however. Taylor & JoJo may turn it around, though, but I doubt it. I could be wrong about what's going too. I'm still sorta sick, though, that Jon beat me in this game, Lis too. They did nothing to deserve to be here. I suppose Lis is playing an ok startegy but please, at least try to socialize with people. Then I would give her some respect for her game play. Am I upset about leaving? No, I am not. I beat 12 other people. TWELVE! That's huge, and I expected to go early. I beat out players such as Tenzil, Jamie, Beth, Angie, Kyle, and Missie. I did not want to beat out Missie, though. I wanted us in the final two, but things just didn't go the way they were suppose to. Information leaked out via Kyle, and people knew we were aligned. It should have been JoJo we worked with from the start. Kyle was not all that bad, though. He was a great guy, honestly. I like him a lot. He just didn't play the game the way that I play it. My alliance with him cracked the trbial council that he was voted out after I heard that he suggested voting out Ashley to some people. It probably would not have, though, if Chris & his side would not have won all of those "prizes." They would probably be in the jury, and I would still be in the game if they had not. I suppose, though, that I do not know all the information. I think Kyle really was with me, but I was just uneasy about his game play. It didn't matter, though, because he was gone that tc no matter what happened. One thing about this season is that I did not play with as much intensity. This game did not mean my life to me. I have other important things to worry about, so that is one reason why I was not so upset while voted out. This game was incredibly emotional, though. Some people took it to the extreme. I cannot believe at some of the attitudes and actions some people took. I guess that was their choice. I guess this game meant everything to some people. At the same time, I made a lot of friends in this game. I honestly liked everyone, minus a few exceptions. Some people who didn't know me thought they could not relate to me because of my age. I think they changed their minds, however. They learned that I could be a fun friend and competitor in this game. I truly did enjoy everyone's company, especially those such as JoJo, Chris, Beth, Missie, Ashley, Kyle, Jenne, and Jake. Despite what the episodes and some of my actions may show, I truly did respect all of them. I only wanted Chris gone because I knew he was a huge threat and I knew that I had no chance of winning with him still in the game. My odds were tough this round, and I was put into a different position having to scramble. I tried my best, though, and I was gone next round anyway if I did not win immunity the next round. I suppose it was better for me to try and make my move now then just sucking up this round. To be honest, 8th, 7th, and 6th place are all the same to me. I am just glad that I made the jury, and I now have a chance at deciding who will win this game. I was indeed impressed with this game. Karen did an amazing job, despite what some people may think or say. I totally respect her and thank her for what she did for us. I also thank Kyle for writing the episodes and for helping towards the end. I thank everyone who played and that gave a great game. I truly did enjoy it. I did learn one thing from this. I will never play survivor again. Honestly!!! It was fun, but I have more important better things to worry about. There were so many nights where I should have done my homework instead of talking to people about the game. My grades didn't suffer, though, for the most part. I still managed. I am still glad that I played, though, and I do wish I could have gone farther. I will take 8th place, though, and I will walk out with my head held high and my dignity still intact. This truly was a great experience. Thank you to everyone who supported me and respected me. And that concludes Isaac's story in Survivor: Holidays. Isaac out..... Signed, Isaac Miller 9th place Survivor Holidays: Indepence Day 2nd place Survivor Holidays: Halloween 8th place Survivor Holidays: All Star Thank you survivor Holidays....
