Survivor Holidays: All Stars Episode IX “No Other Path, No Other Way”
Saint Patrick’s Day: Christopher, JoJo
Independence Day: Missie
Halloween: Ashley, Isaac, Jake, Jon
Valentine’s Day: Elisabeth, Jenne, Taylor That was the way Jake felt leading into the ninth tribal council of the game. Fairly sure that with Christopher and Elisabeth’s rewards, Kyle was more or less gone despite what Missie and Isaac planned to do. When Jake had seated himself at the stone bench, he had watched the infamous duo come in as content as ever. A pang of nostalgia swept through him as he remembered the team that was AJ and Zach in Halloween. So much had changed since then, and Jake found him pitted against his old friend. Still there was too much else to deal with rather than worry about his former ties to Isaac Miller. Kyle was his premier boot choice, but JoJo and Christopher had waffled over their votes between Kyle and Taylor for no other reason but to appease Missie Right before the council, Christopher had deliberated a bit more with a very resolute Jenne Lotz. Christopher: Taylor wants me out. Jenne: We knew that didn’t we? Christopher: He will use any angle, I’m sure. Jenne had rolled her eyes. Jenne: He’s inconsequential…always is. But Christopher had eyed her for a moment, aware something could be pulled off. Christopher: I’m not so sure. I can never tell what is happening around here. He could be used to vote me and you off and then discarded. Jenne smirked. Jenne: Only way is if JoJo turned on us. Taylor don’t matter. If there is no Kyle, then Tay will be latched on to me, and we can dump him whenever. There would be no one else for him to turn to, and as much as I loathe him, I’m being real nice to him. Christopher: I really, really prefer Kyle, but if Taylor doesn’t have immunity, I think we need to vote him to keep the natives appeased. Jenne huffed angrily. Jenne: The votes are there! Why would we change! Christopher: Missie, Isaac, Jon, and Ash want Taylor gone bad…more than Kyle. Taylor has just run up so much blood it isn’t funny. Jenne: Who cares what they want! They want me gone too! There is no reason to not take Kyle out now! Christopher: Strategically we need them to be down with the vote so they don’t rally Taylor. Jenne: No we don’t! We are way better off with Tay who will stick with us! Christopher: But, Jenne…Taylor is campaigning against me! Don’t you see? He is not a lock! Jenne could feel herself getting angry all over again. She could never understand why the plans always changed where Kyle was concerned. Jenne: The natives can be pissed…they won’t have a chance! Christopher: I don’t know what to think. I really hope Taylor gets immunity so they have to vote Kyle. Jenne: If Kyle survives another tribal council, you have no idea how pissed off I’m going to be. Fair warning now. Seems every time y’all are on board, it get’s messed up, and I’m sick of being toyed with! Christopher: Jenne… Jenne: It’s frustrating, Chris! Christopher: I know… Jenne: Either don’t say you’ll vote him out or just do it! Christopher: Jenne, I am the one on the block! Yelling at me isn’t going to help anything! Jenne: I can’t wait to vote Taylor out, and I would do it now, but Kyle needs to go! Christopher: I know he does! I’m not in disagreement about that, but easily is not a given. Missie and Isaac think they have a thing with me. So when I betray it, fur will fly! Jenne: If you think they will vote Kyle after Tay, then you are delusional. So Christopher had much to think about walking into that tribal council. JoJo and Elisabeth had helped him decide just as they were entering the council. Elisabeth: In my opinion, I think Kyle should go. He’s a bigger threat, and I think I’m gone if he stays around. I have the most votes of anyone! JoJo nodded. JoJo: And your auction items need to be used on a big vote. Christopher: Taylor is after me this vote, trying to get me out, and Kyle is on the bandwagon. Elisabeth: Kyle will always be a vote against us. I’m just worried that appeasing Missie and Isaac leaves me out. I just don’t agree. So don’t get me wrong… Christopher: No, no, Lizzie…that is why we are talking. Elisabeth: Here is my side of it…Kyle is never going to vote with us. He holds that group together because he keeps his ducks in a row. Taylor’s alliance has turned on him…where is he going to go? Obviously to either me or Jenne. JoJo nodded quickly. JoJo: Right. That is completely true. Elisabeth: Kyle, if Taylor gets voted out, will not do the same. JoJo: He will have big numbers. Man, Lis is all smart! Christopher smiled. The choice was clear. Kyle needed to go. So to the tribal council they advanced. But looking toward Missie, Christopher was still worried in the back of his mind. Taylor could do anything, and Missie would soon be irate. The numbers were still tied up with Taylor. Going into that tribal council, Taylor Napier was certain his number was up. There was no way Christopher Collins would be there to support him, nor Missie, nor Isaac. If Kyle voted for him, he would be surprised, shocked, horrified. Hurt. Jenne met him just walking through the entrance of the council area. Taylor had seen better days, and he looked it. Taylor: Is it me? Jenne: Not that I know of. Who are people voting for? Taylor: You’re asking me? The prime target? It’s either Chris or I…Chris said so himself. Jenne: I’m not voting either of you. If you can steal immunity tonight, Tay…steal it! Have faith. She paused and squeezed his arm affectionately. Jenne: I’m not ready to let you go. Taylor: Why can’t Missie go? Why is everyone protecting a known backstabber? Jenne shrugged. Jenne: She has a good strategy. Anything bad a person says about another person, she goes straight to them and tells them. That way, everyone trusts her and not each other. It’s rather brilliant. Taylor: Campaign for me! Jenne: I will do anything I can. One could have heard a pin drop as they watched Kyle disappear into the night. To say the least, Missie’s and Isaac’s jaws hit the floor. Christopher and JoJo had sworn loyalty and yet again retracted their votes. Missie was fuming. Ashley and Jon, used to being on the wrong side of the vote, thought nothing much different. Ashley turned to Isaac. Isaac: Well, there goes Kyle. I didn’t know he would leave. Ashley looked around sadly. Ashley: I guess we were blindsided by the people with power. Isaac glanced around at Christopher and JoJo and Jenne. Jenne was almost giddy. Isaac: Looks like it. Ashley: Who do you talk to the most? Isaac: Everyone really but Missie is the main person. Ashley sighed and looked around. She was, frankly, tired of being on the wrong side of the vote, or a target. Ashley: Well, a few days ago, Taylor told me he was voting for Chris and asked me would I vote for him, too. Chris was saying he would vote for Taylor. I don’t think Kyle getting voted out was by accident. Isaac: No, it was certainly not by accident. She squeezed his arm. There was a worried twinkle in her eye. Ashley: Keep that to yourself. Isaac: Of course. Taylor on the other hand was at his emotional wits end. The vote had ended up being seven to four and his true friends had proven true—just as he knew he should have believed all along. Christopher, Jenne, Elisabeth, JoJo—all of them had been there for them just like they promised. Just like they had been all along. Just like he knew they would be. Looking over at Jenne, Taylor got a tear in the corner of his eye, and he couldn’t help but let it slide down the side of his nose. Jenne noticed him right off and approached him at once. Jenne: Why are you crying? Embarrassed, Taylor flicked the tear away and smiled brightly, taking her by the shoulders. Taylor: Because tonight reaffirmed my faith in a few people. Not that I never believed you, but it made me trust you all over again. Jenne: Taylor, all I’ve done this whole game is work with you. Why on earth would you not have faith in that? Taylor: I’ve had faith in you. I just didn’t know how hard people would fight for me. Now I do. He paused, overcome. Taylor: I love you. Jenne felt a twinge of guilt while blushing at the same time. Jenne: Tay, stop it. You’ll make me cry too! Taylor: I owe my life to you and Lizzie. Jenne looked around quickly, watching others file out. Missie was notably upset. Jon seemed a bit lost, and that amused her. Jenne: Look at Jon…his daddy is gone. Poor kid. Taylor laughed and escorted Jenne out of the council area and along the beach. Jenne: I want to tell you the full story of what’s happened lately, but you have to keep this to yourself. Taylor nodded vigorously. If anything, he had learned his lesson in saying too much. He had told Kyle everything and just like others had told him he would, Kyle turned on him. He would definitely be listening to Jenne from then on. Taylor: I swear I won’t say anything to anyone. She eyed him skeptically. Jenne: The whole reason I couldn’t say anything to you before is because you have loose lips! Taylor raised his right hand in the air before Jenne went on. Jenne: After the challenge, Missie went to JoJo and Chris wanting to get rid of Kyle. Everyone was on board, all sick of Kyle’s crap. I told you because I tell you everything…but you ran your mouth off to Missie who ran her mouth off to everyone. I got in trouble for telling you because they all thought you were telling Kyle everything. That’s when the vote switched to you. Missie went back on her Kyle vote and was pushing you hard. JoJo and Chris waffled because they were scared of pissing Missie off, and to be honest, Chris had been hearing that you were targeting him. Taylor ducked his head. Taylor: I feel bad now. Jenne nodded. Jenne: Lizzie and I campaigned hard for you. Chris was just worried that you would run to the other side if we voted Kyle now. I pretty much promised him you wouldn’t. She stopped and turned him to face her! Jenne: So I hope you don’t! I pretty much promised him my first born child, and my first son is going to be cute. Taylor: I won’t. I’m in no position to bargain. But can Missie go sometime soon? Jenne grinned at him. Jenne: Well, she will be freakin’ on them so they’ll probably want her gone now. Taylor nodded. It would work. Surely Missie would be the next to go as long as he was steadfast with the group he should have trusted from the beginning. He and Jenne reached the aisle of huts and departed with a hug. Taylor was drained, but the game was suddenly looking up for him. He turned and watched Jenne disappear into her hut before he went to his own. And with that, he returned to his hut and crawled in bed with a new exuberance. He was saved and now looked to be good for the long run. Jenne returned to her hut with almost the same zeal as Taylor, only this time she knew she was destined for the end. Taylor possibly had only a few more legs in the game to go. But now that Kyle was gone, Jenne didn’t care what happened. Her worst game enemy was gone and she was up on Taylor’s secret and they were in control once again. What could be better? Christopher was just as ecstatic, not for Taylor but for Kyle leaving the game. On the other side of things Missie Bird wasn’t sharing the same positivity as the rest. She did nothing but spew vinegar as she and Isaac walked along the beach and retreated to the pier. Missie: I’m done! I want out next! Isaac paced angrily. Isaac: They had no reason to do it! Missie: No they did not…they did-freaking-not! Isaac: Sorry, Missie. I know how much you wanted Taylor gone. Isaac paused and thought about it for a moment. Isaac: I think I can understand where they were coming from though. Kyle was a bigger threat, and they couldn’t fully trust us with Kyle still in. Now they can. Missie: No. Lis, Jenne, and Jake would not budge, and Taylor would sell his soul. Whatever…I don’t care anymore. My opinion does not count! I’ve totally lied to Kyle all day and feel sick about it. Isaac nodded. Isaac: I know, I feel bad for Kyle. But look on the bright side…we won’t ever have to vote him out now. Missie huffed and shook her head, before a slight smile graced her face. Missie: I guess you are right there. But she wasn’t completely better. She would still confront JoJo and Christopher. As sick of them as she was, she still hoped to maintain a trust with them. They departed from the pier and Missie went straight after JoJo upon finding her sauntering into the aisle of huts. She wasted not time in calling her out. JoJo was taken aback by the ferocity with which Missie jumped her. Missie: You hurt me more than anything else! Just so you know! I’m not being a drama queen or anything…just plain and simple. JoJo nodded sadly, fully expecting such a confrontation. JoJo: Missie, why? I’m still with you!

Missie: You saw how pissed I got at Kyle for his last minute crap to get Beth out! You and Chris both could not expect me to be all happy about this decision!
JoJo: We deserve you to friggin’ hate us.
Missie shook her head and sighed.
Missie: I don’t hate you. I hate that Taylor is still here, and that’s the thing. Not that Kyle is gone. But see now, maybe you have something I don’t know about with Chris. Now, Chris, Lis, Jenne, and Taylor are still here.
JoJo scoffed and shook her head.
JoJo: Nah, they talk about Taylor so horrifically.
Missie: Good. Good, good, good!
JoJo: I don’t see anyone keeping that boy around.
Missie: Whatever. I’m going to hide. If you and Chris need to find me, you know where I am.
Missie left her promptly, and JoJo could only stare after her. Missie passed Chris on her way back to her own hut.
Missie: We still good here?
Christopher: We will always be good. I heart you!
Missie smirked.
Missie: You know what I mean, Senor Boo Boo.
Christopher nodded. Like JoJo, he fully expected to hear it from Missie.
Christopher: I do, and we are good.
Missie: Why do I feel like I have been kidney punched?
Christopher: I don’t know, but I feel so gross. I have for hours.
Missie only rolled her eyes and headed on her way. But before she turned in, she had one more stop to make. She paused at Kyle’s hut where his name had already been removed from the door then marched on to Taylor’s.
Taylor answered groggily to her pounding.
Missie: Done talking smack about me yet?
Taylor groaned.
Taylor: Please, Missie. I know you told Chris about our deal—he told me you did! Don’t play innocent with me, now…I know what you’ve been doing.
Missie pointed to herself incredulously with wide, wild eyes.
Missie: Me? ME ? Whatever !
Taylor : Missie, please. I’ve been truthful with you, always coming to you with my concerns. You just keep running everything I say to you about anyone back to them.
Missie: You’ve talked smack about me to everyone!
Taylor nodded.
Taylor: When you were talking about me.
Missie: I really thought that you, me, Kyle, and Isaac could work something out.
Taylor: I hoped we could have, too.
Missie: Well, then you were quick to say I was spearheading a Kyle campaign. Whatever!
Taylor chuckled.
Taylor: I didn’t start that.
Missie: It was fine and quiet! Kyle runs and tells JoJo, the world busts open, and it’s my problem? It is not mine!
Taylor: Jenne started that.
Missie: Jenne is a condescending bitch to me all game, and it’s pretty obvious that she and I are never going to get along. She has you on a little leash and Chris and whoever else! Her words to me about you were, “he’s fun to screw with.” Nice, hey?
Taylor: I am not saying Jenne is nice. I wanted this to work. I even campaigned for it! But when Chris and Jenne and others tell me to watch out for you, I get suspicious. Missie, I have to know the truth. One way or another, give it to me.
Missie: One way or another? If you would shut up and just go with things, this would not be a problem! You shuffle from me to Jenne to Kyle to Chris to whomever and then everyone gets all suspicious and things get out!
Missie made her point emphatically, and Taylor just nodded. It didn’t matter what Missie thought of him anymore, because he had his side, and he was now firmly attached. Missie left him with that. Taylor only shrugged and returned to bed.
Before the night could end, JoJo Treadwell knew she needed to set things straight or else stare at the ceiling all night and get no sleep. The confrontation with Missie had done nothing to ease her mind.
JoJo: Maybe we should just fight with Missie so we would feel better now that she hates us.
Christopher: We may have to. We are in so much trouble.
JoJo looked around nervously.
JoJo: Maybe she goes next. Taylor loves us now.
Christopher: Let’s go talk with her.
Whether she wanted them there or not, Missie opened the door to a hopeful duo of Christopher and JoJo. She had had enough confrontations for the night, but still they marched in.
Missie: Oh yes…this will make me feel tons freaking better!
She snarled as they made their way around her and into her hut.
Christopher: You will see when the show airs how much we adore you.
JoJo: Missie, please…
Missie: My ass!
JoJo: We are losing our minds…
Missie: My freaking ass!
JoJo: It’s true, Missie, please…
Christopher: We went around and around today—
Missie turned on them voraciously and spat.
Missie: The one thing I asked of both of you—the one thing—was to get rid of Taylor! I was willing to get rid of Kyle next!
JoJo: We were too, Missie—
Missie turned away from them as she mocked them.
Missie: Oh, Missie, we want you to feel included! Poor, Missie, what do you want!
JoJo: I would be saying the same exact thing…
Missie: So now I get Taylor harassing me for the rest of the game!
JoJo: It’s not what you think…
JoJo ventured delicately, but Missie turned on her rabidly.
Missie: It’s not, hey?
JoJo: It’s not.
Christopher stepped in between them.
Christopher: No. We got caught in the middle—
Missie: Of what?!
Christopher: Everyone.
Missie: There is no middle to the three of us!
JoJo sighed and looked down.
JoJo: Missie, you have no idea…
Christopher: Missie, when you said Kyle would go—
Missie: The one thing I asked was Taylor go. Then to the last minute neither one of you had the balls to say anything to me!
Christopher: Wait! Can I just say this for a sec? When you said Kyle should go, when the three of us came together, we pulled in other people. JoJo got Jake, I got Lizzie and Jenne.
Missie rolled her eyes and walked away, setting off a spark in Christopher. He reached out and took her by the arm.
Christopher: Missie! Just listen to me for a minute! Walk out later if you want!
JoJo: Those people we pulled together went off on us when they heard there was a change from Kyle to Taylor.
Christopher: They refused to change. They said it was set up! JoJo and I tried to sway them up until tribal council! It didn’t fly! I totally undersand why you are upset!
Missie: Me, Jon, Ashley, Isaac, and Kyle all had Taylor votes. You could have blocked one of Lis’ this one time!
Christopher: I just wanted you to know why.
Missie gaped at that.
Missie: Oh? Well why not tell my why like…oh and hour ago? Instead of pulling Kyle on me and doing this? You both know how upset I was last time! Now—‘cause Lizzie and Jenne wanted it—Missie doesn’t matter?
JoJo and Christopher both shook their heads.
Missie: I really feel that way!
Christopher: No. It would have been big drama, and Jake is in that too—
Missie: Jake told me he was good either way, just so you know!
Christopher nodded and chuckled.
Christopher: Jake is a good kid, and he is playing his game, but he wanted Kyle too.
JoJo: Jake has no idea about half this drama and he had a major Kyle issue.
There was a long silence, and JoJo and Christopher thought that Missie might be coming into a place of understanding. At any rate, she seemed to be calming down considerably.
Christopher: I don’t want you to think that we plotted against you or tried to dupe you. It has been a terrible day.
Missie: Kyle could have very easily gone next tribal council, but whatever! It’s not about what I want—never has been! I’ll sit along for the ride ‘cause I’m not making any more moves. So, tell me who to vote and fine!
Christopher: If we wanted to screw you, it would’ve been Jon or Isaac…or you! We went for somebody that everybody supposedly wants!
Missie: It’s not that. It’s how you did it! To me…again…knowing how hard it was for me when Kyle did it.
Christopher: You have to know it’s not all about what Jenne wants. She has said this exact same thing to me, and I fought with her for three tribal councils to keep you. You have no clue!
JoJo: Believe me, Missie, it’s so true, and you do count.
Missie crossed her arms indignantly.
Missie: Ok, so Jenne and Lis don’t want Taylor gone, so what the hell? Does he stay and stir shit?
Christopher shook his head vigorously.
Christopher: Just tonight. The numbers scared them.
Missie: I just hate it that Taylor used some lie to get Kyle voted out.
Christopher: My stance has not changed on Taylor. Missie…you matter to me.
JoJo: You matter to me, too. You will see in the episodes, dammit!
Christopher: You will.
At that, Missie did soften, but her heart still raced.
Missie: I would love to go with you two all the way. I would love that! It would seem the best result, but does Taylor ever get to freaking go? He is driving me mad!
JoJo: He drives everyone mad, honey.
Missie: No…not like me.
JoJo: The people he calls his best friends are driven mad!
Christopher: Missie, I want to honor your wishes—
Missie: Then why do they matter so much? Why don’t you try hard to sway me, Isaac, Jon, or Ashley? I think that’s a fair question.
And it was a tough question. Christopher and JoJo exchanged glances at a loss for how to answer. Missie motioned toward the door.
Missie: You two can go confer and when you are done you can bring me back an answer.
Christopher frowned at her.
Christopher: We don’t confer everything privately, thank you!
Missie rolled her eyes and huffed.
Missie: I was joking. Maybe I should give you some Vicadin, you freak.
JoJo sighed and stepped up to her, taking her by the shoulders.
JoJo: Missie, look at me. I’m sorry…I’m truly sorry.
Missie: Had you needed my vote for Kyle tonight, I’d have been in. But it’s like a little game within the game. Missie votes…Taylor! Yay !
Missie sighed heavily and looked over to Christopher who was now glowering at her.
Missie: Chris, give me my twenty minutes of rough time. I’m on my upswing so I’m almost over it. Chill out.
Christopher shrugged coolly.
Christopher: I’m just talked out. I’m watching.
JoJo: It’s been a weird day, hasn’t it?
Christopher: Hideous.
Missie managed a smile.
Missie: Ah, you knew this would suck but that I would be a lot less bitchy than Jenne.
Christopher: You two are about the same, frankly. Look, I don’t want to take away from your time with us, Missie, but I need to go get some sleep.
Missie: It’s ok, Chris, I’m good. I’m still in.
Christopher: I do know that this sucked for you tonight.
She smiled.
Missie: I’m just gonna need Xanax.
Christopher looked at both of them fondly.
Christopher: You are both great.
JoJo: I love you both, too. Thanks, Missie, for hearing all this.
Missie: Yuppers…love you guys.
They exchanged hugs and pats and goodbyes, and Missie maintained her smile until they were out the door but it disappeared immediately. She didn’t buy the love fest for one moment as she turned and leaned against the door.
Christopher was absolutely spent when he made his way back to his hut for the night, but Jenne caught him, all aglow.
Jenne: Mission accomplished!
Christopher groaned as she fell in stride with him.
Jenne: Taylor loves us now, and he feels bad for targeting you. He wants Missie out and would never vote against Lizzie for a tie.
Christopher: I’m exhausted. Missie really gave it to JoJo and I tonight.
Jenne: I know this sucks for you guys, but I think we are all better off. And if Missie is too big of a problem—
Christopher held up his hand to stifle her.
Christopher: I need to go! I’m exhausted by all this. Let other people plot for a night and see if it unties the knots in my stomach.
He walked away and Jenne watched him curiously. For a moment, if she thought about too intricately she could get worried. But Jenne knew that Christopher would never side with Missie. Never. How could he? She pushed it out of her mind and returned to her bed for some real sleep.
That evening Jon Kennedy had taken his time returning from the tribal council, questioning his reasoning behind agreeing to this game. He had virtually made no impact, been the target at numerous tribal councils, and watched his allies leave one by one by one. He even questioned himself if the whole experience was worth it. He had a life back at home, friends, school, student council. Why leave all that for a silly game where people went at each other’s throats and lied and cheated?
He sighed as he came to the aisle of huts. There were twenty huts, half of which had been vacated. His was sure to come soon.
He started for his hut but then stopped. Shaking his head, he headed over to the main resort.
Day 25
The next morning before the remaining ten gathered at the beach for another tree-mail reading, Isaac was prepared to adapt with the people he was left with. Though he was nervous about his current position, he knew he had to play along. Besides, he felt pretty certain that JoJo and Christopher were true to their word with him and Missie.
They had to be or he would be in trouble.
Isaac: I want the next immunity really bad.
JoJo smiled at him as they made their way toward the beach.
JoJo: Go, go, Isaac! I’m certainly no competition for you.
Isaac: I just don’t want Taylor winning it…or Jenne. I want to keep them open as possible votes.
He looked at JoJo hopefully.
Isaac: I hope you guys will finally vote Taylor.
JoJo cast him a sidelong glance.
JoJo: Did I hear correctly that you and Jenne argued this week?
Isaac: You did. It wasn’t much. She was just telling me how I was screwed and was being rough on me.
He sighed heavily.
Isaac: Well, she was right. I find out that Kyle had been lying to me a lot, and I realized that I was in trouble if I stuck with him.
JoJo: I heard some Kyle things, too. I keep hoping they weren’t true. I loved Kyle. I didn’t want him lying to me. That’s why I voted him, but I hated it.
Isaac: I didn’t think he’d really do that, but I realized everything I said to him leaked out.
JoJo: Who did he tell? Taylor?
Isaac: Apparently he told you and Chris that he had Missie and I in the bag.
JoJo nodded.
JoJo: He did lead me to believe that you guys were close. I don’t know about “in the bag”.
Isaac: Chris told me that.
JoJo: It’s a bit cocky.
Isaac: That’s why I told Missie we should trust Chris over Kyle.
JoJo: I’m glad you do. I’m sorry everything got so screwy these last votes.
Isaac: Don’t be. I understand. I’m relieved honestly.
JoJo: I know Missie wants Taylor gone, but I’m not overly concerned about him. Whenever he goes is fine, but I don’t see him as a threat.
Isaac: He’s just a pain. He spreads rumors.
He drew in a breath as they walked along. JoJo cringed inside, hoping he would not ask her any specifics. In all honesty, JoJo knew no specifics. Working with Missie was high on her priority, but not if Missie was going to spend the next three days angry.
Isaac: I don’t know who to vote out next.
He looked over at JoJo.
Isaac: I would guess Jenne, wouldn’t you?
There was a direct question JoJo hoped against. She smiled crookedly. JoJo: All I know is I always wait to see who has immunity.
Isaac: Who worries you in this game? I mean, there are only ten people left.
JoJo: The inactive thing bugs me the most.
Isaac nodded.
Isaac: With Kyle gone, things are more relaxed. If us four stick together, we can take this game.

JoJo: I would love it if we stuck together. But I predict more drama.
Isaac: I’m always fully committed to my deals. I don’t backstab unless you backstab me first.
He looked at her for a moment.
Isaac: Do you think that you would vote Jenne or Taylor if they are not immuned?
JoJo cringed once more.
Isaac: If not, I’m willing to vote inactives too. I don’t know about Missie though.
JoJo: I’m listening to all angles. I know Missie wants Taylor. If it were completely up to me, it would be inactives.
Isaac: Jake bothers me, too.
JoJo looked at him full on at that.
JoJo: I assumed you guys were tight because he has always spoken so well of you.
Isaac: Easy assumption. We haven’t been well at all, and I can see him wanting to get me out…which is why I wouldn’t mind voting him out sooner rather than later.
JoJo: I do like Jake, but I wouldn’t say he and I are close. I don’t know if he’s close to anyone.
Isaac: He puzzles me. He’s got to be up to something this season, but it seems he’s not.
JoJo nodded, but it was nothing she wanted to hear. When they reached the beachside where Karen was waiting with her tree-mail, she made her way toward Christopher who was standing there looking slightly amused.
Christopher was watching as Taylor came into the group all smiles, fawning over Jenne and Elisabeth. It was cute, actually. JoJo stood next to him, ready to share her information, but Christopher cut her off.
Christopher: I have a secret.
JoJo smiled.
JoJo: You love me?
Christopher: That ain’t no secret.
He nodded toward Taylor.
Christopher: Taylor is a liar. He is sixteen.
JoJo slapped his arm.
JoJo: Come on…
Christopher: He was thirteen when he played in Tonga.
JoJo’s smile faded.
JoJo: Come on!
Christopher: That is why he is so immature. Kyle find out and told me in secret.
JoJo: Are you sure though?
JoJo shot a glance at Taylor who was tall and looked enough like a twenty-year old. It was baffling.
Christopher: I told Taylor I wouldn’t tell anyone until post-game. But I thought I’d tell you. I confronted him.
JoJo: You just found out about this?
Christopher nodded.
Christopher: He has maintained he was in his twenties for three years.
JoJo: Jenne and Beth know?
Christopher: I told Jenne. So you, me, Jenne, and Kyle are all that know. Kyle thinks only I know.
It was more information than JoJo could handle at the moment, so she shook her head.
Christopher: Only Isaac and Jake are younger than Taylor.
JoJo wanted to change the subject quickly.
JoJo: Either Isaac is completely naïve or very smart.
Christopher looked at her quickly.
JoJo: He just told me all kinds of crap, saying it’s you, me, Missie, and him to the final four.
Christopher: I think that is their angle. We are gonna be so hated.
Christopher laughed aloud and gave JoJo a side hug.
Christopher: Hated, hated, hated! I’m so glad you will be there with me.
JoJo: He dogged Jake, said he wanted Jenne or Taylor next, and is desparate for immunity. I told him I was more for inactives, then he was suddenly for inactives too. It was slightly entertaining.
Christopher: How cute. Well, he need not fret; he’s safe in my book.
JoJo followed his gaze to Taylor.
JoJo: I’m just blown away about this thing with Taylor.
Christopher: You and I will have to have a big talk down the road.
At that moment Karen garnered all their attention by clearing her voice. She swept them over with her eyes, noted that Jon Kennedy had not joined them, then proceeded on with the reading.
Karen: A race like none before, you must play to open the door. Immune is what you want to be, but first you have to get the key. Challenge will be tonight at seven o’clock in the great ballroom.
Yet at seven o’clock when the remaing survivors sans Jon Kennedy joined at the great ballroom for the next challenge, Karen was nowhere to be seen. As they mingled no one really noticed that she was a few minutes late, but a half hour later, people began to question and talk among themselves.
Jenne made her way to Christopher.
Jenne: Did Karen fall off the face of the planet or what?
Christopher: I have no clue.
At the same time they looked over at Taylor who was waiting anxiously, no doubt hungering for that immunity necklace.
Christopher: You know what is funny? Taylor asked me not to tell anyone his age stuff so it wouldn’t become a storyline in the episodes.
He put a hand to his mouth.
Christopher: Oops.
Jenne: Taylor knows you know?
Christopher nodded.
Jenne: Woah! Rewind! What?
Christopher: I can’t believe I forgot to tell you! I must’ve been too excited just to tell you about him. I confronted Taylor, thinking Kyle might have made it up because I wouldn’t put it past him. Anyways he knows I know but he doesn’t know you or Kyle know. And Kyle doesn’t know I’ve told anyone. If Kyle finds out…
Christopher whistled.
Christopher: Hoo boy! Hell breaks loose. When the game ends, Taylor is going to approach you.
Jenne: And then I get to let him have it?
Christopher: Absolutely. I’d rather keep it post game because Kyle is petty and wants to be the one to confront him. And honestly, if I somehow ended up in the final two, I don’t want this stupid thing costing me a vote.
JoJo approached them at that time.
JoJo: What’s the haps?
Jenne: Strip poker time?
Christopher: JoJo didn’t believe me when I told her about Taylor.
Jenne rolled her eyes and grunted.
Jenne: It’s why I’ve been nastier about the kid lately. Every day for three years he has lied to me.
Christopher: Who do we wanna boot next?
Jenne: A teenager other than ones that vote with us.
Christopher: Jon? How effing long is he going to last?
Jenne: If I vote for Jon then he won’t go.
JoJo: Jon or Ashley.
Jenne: Here is my thing, we want someone in the sixth spot who won’t win immunity. Missie can share immunity if she wins it. I’m scared to let her past the eighth.
JoJo nodded.
JoJo: That is scary.
Christopher: I’d lay fifty percent odds that she’d share it with me or JoJo.
Jenne sighed.
Jenne: I’m not suggesting booting her now. Just keeping her past a certain point presents a risk.
Christopher: I think JoJo and I have resigned ourselves to screwing her over. So whenever it happens, it happens.
JoJo: It would have been easier if she stayed mad at us.
Jenne shrugged nonchalantly
Jenne: Well, I know Taylor wants Missie gone bad, and Missie wants Taylor gone bad, and that’s always nice for the rest of us.
JoJo: Even Isaac has said he’d rather see Ashley or Jon go first.
Christopher nodded vigorously as Jenne rolled her eyes.
Jenne: Isaac started kissing my ass the second Kyle went.
Christopher: He mentioned to me wanting inactives to leave.
JoJo: I thought Jon and Ashley first, but Missie is more of a threat.
Jenne grinned.
Jenne: I’m good with Jon goin’. I just think that if it’s Missie versus Taylor at this vote, you assure that Taylor will vote on our side.
Christopher considered her for a moment.
Christopher: The only thing that is bad about booting Missie right now is that Jon and Ashley keep sliding by on nothing.
Jenne smirked.
Jenne: Um, I said this to you all already, right?
Christopher: You did.
Jenne: Best way to cement Taylor’s vote is to go for Missie. We need to play it safe this round.
Christopher: It just feels a little mean to keep Jon and Ashley over her.
It was definitely something for all of them to consider. Ashley and Jon had been quietly slipping by while the higher profile players fought among themselves. But if Christopher and JoJo were to make the final two, Missie would have to go at some point or another.
The castaways waited for Karen for an hour and when she never showed, they ventured away, wondering, confused, some of them worried. It was not like Karen to completely miss a challenge.
Though, it had been noticeable that Karen had not been as passionate in her hosting as she had in the past. Something was up.
Day 26
When the sun rose the next morning, those that awakened early congregated in the aisle of huts, wondering what had become of their game. Tribal council was the following evening, so an immunity challenge needed to be held soon.
JoJo, Christopher, and Jenne were the first to gather outside on the sand. Isaac joined them shortly, and while they discussed, Karen approached them. Isaac was the first to notice and jumped with a start.
Isaac: Woah!
The rest whirled around quickly to find her joining the small group.
Christopher: Well, hey!
Karen: Hi.
She didn’t greet them as enthusiastically as normal. Christopher and JoJo exchanged glances. Jenne simply crossed her arms and looked at her. Jenne: Glad to see you’re alive, Karen.
Isaac: Is everything alright?
She nodded quickly and pressed on.
Karen: I won’t keep y’all long, I just wanted to tell you something. I’m about to make the announcement official.
Jenne frowned and looked over at Christopher. It was all too bizaar. Was the game canceling half way through?
Karen: But since you are here, I’ll let you know in person.
JoJo: Is this negotiable?
Karen smiled at that.
Karen: We’ll see.
She looked around gravely before she began.
Karen: For quite some time now I’ve been hearing about how stressful and horrible this game has been due to the intense drama, and how it has ruined real friendships. For a while I thought it would blow over, but it has increased to the point where even I am not having any fun reading the journals and hosting in general.
She glanced around at the wide eyes surrounding her.
Karen: And I’m the evil one who likes drama. So for me to think this…it’s bad.
JoJo: I would bet the journals aren’t saying those things now. It’s been ok lately.
Isaac: After the Kyle vote, I think things are getting better.
Karen: I have been contemplating for the past couple of weeks about whether to just bear it and go on or put an end to it all…
A silent protest went around the group. Eyes said it all. Jenne shifted on her feet.
Jenne: So our pain, tears, and lost friendship were for nothing?
Karen shot her a look.
Karen: That’s the thing, Jenne. It’s supposed to be a game, and people are really losing friendships over this! That is crazy to me!
Christopher sighed.
Christopher: Ok…
Isaac: It’s a pity that so many people got so emotionally involved—myself included—but I would never let this ruin friendships.
Christopher: I’m gonna butt in…anybody who is not my friend over this game, isn’t my friend. Their problem. Karen, you don’t need to be bearing the brunt of people’s whining. Tell them to put up or shut up and leave! They need to grow up!
Isaac: Seriously.
Christopher: Honestly, Karen, I would be pretty pissed off at you if I just wasted a month.
He looked around quickly.
Christopher: I don’t want to be negative, but as a host, I think you have responsibility to those of us who committed to your game.
JoJo: We waited so long for this game, and you did too, Karen. We were all so excited. What if you saw some things different from now on? This game was the hottest game around, Karen. Season one people waited over a year and half for this game.
Isaac: I played in season three so I could play this.
Christopher: Bottom line, you are a solid host. You have done your part. You don’t have to take their crap! Give ‘em the ol’ Christian finger—whichever one that is.
Jenne: Seeing as I’m the person who’s gone through the most in this game, it would just kill me to have it end now. I feel like that’s so not the solution.
JoJo took Karen’s hands in her own.
JoJo: What can we do to make you keep the game going?
Karen considered her for a moment.
Karen: Give me until noon, and I will have a decision made. Meet at the beach as if we were having tree-mail, and I will inform you all.
She left promptly, leaving the others to glance around at each other incredulously. Not one of them could understand what had been so wrong with the dynamics of the game that could cause Karen to have such a meltdown.
Immediately they went around knocking on hut doors and dragging people out. This meeting out on the beach was not one to be missed. By noon all had gathered at the beach except Jon Kennedy who had been missing since the previous tribal council. Yet, in the heat of the matter at hand, no one had noticed.
Karen addressed them all as promptly as she had said. All gathered around her, watching intently.
Karen: I have a new co-host.
Christopher arched his eyebrows.
Christopher: Oh! How exciting!
Karen: Your new co-host is Kyle.
The world froze and jaws dropped. Everyone had expected to hear Rob Rollins, the former host of the previous games, or someone else capable of helping Karen out. But Kyle of all people? Gasps went around the group.
Missie put a hand to her mouth.
Christopher and JoJo looked at each other.
Jenne huffed and jammed her fists on her hips.
Jenne: Excuse me?
Karen : Yes.
Jenne : Isn’t he on the jury ?
Karen: He is no longer on the jury, meaning that Beth has been bumped up and is now the first jury member.
Jenne gaped at that. Even Christopher and JoJo frowned.
Jenne: How is that fair considering she’s talked to everyone about game stuff!
Karen: It’s all been addressed and handled, and that’s all I have to say about that. The way I see it, these are minor changes…
She looked around sternly.
Karen: If you all want to continue in the game, that’s the way it will be. I needed help; I got help.
Christopher stepped up and put a hand on Jenne’s shoulder.
Christopher: I don’t think she is attacking you, Karen. Just concerned.
Karen: I don’t think anyone is attacking me. I’m just letting you know these are the changes, and there is no negotiating.
She looked at Christopher firmly.
Christopher: Just trying to keep the peace between two of my favorite ladies…
Karen: So, that’s it. I just wanted to tell you in person, so good luck with the rest of the game. Challenge tonight at seven in the great ballroom. And we will have a challenge tonight.
Nodding, Karen turned to walk away. Chatter arose among the castaways, but Jenne wasn’t satisfied. Ignoring Christopher’s hand on her shoulder she marched after Karen and cut her off, facing her.
Jenne: I protest! This isn’t right, Karen! It’s so wrong, it’s not even funny! This game has no integrity left whatsoever!
Karen: I’m sorry you feel that way. I’m not trying to blast anyone or make it unfair.
Jenne: Having a player cohost half way through the game?
Karen: He’s been voted out.
Jenne: Bumping a lodge member up to jury?
Karen: What’s the difference?
Jenne: Integrity!
Karen frowned and looked Jenne in the eye.
Karen: For all you knew at that point, the jury wasn’t going to start until seven people instead of nine. Part of the game is to roll with and deal with the twists.
Jenne: This isn’t a twist, Karen. Twists are planned ahead of time! Asking a cast member to host the game is not right!
Karen: He is no longer playing! You all wanted to continue playing, this is the only way it will happen.
Jenne: I’d rather you have quit honestly. I think you found the wrong solution. I feel this game is an utter joke; you shouldn’t have fired Rob! You obviously need him, and he would have been a better choice!
Karen stiffened and widened her eyes at Jenne.

Jenne: I don’t want to ream you…I like you Karen.
Karen: It’s not like Kyle is going to sway anyone one way or the other.
Jenne: You bit off more than you could chew and are turning to the wrong people for help! This game is a crock of shit!
Karen: And I didn’t “fire” Rob. He told me he couldn’t help me this time.
Jenne: It’s just wrong, Karen.
Karen: I’m sorry you feel that way.
Jenne: So now Kyle will have access to our journals and conversations? If he helps with the episodes, who’s gonna be the star? Who’s gonna look good? He’s not impartial.
Karen: I will not go into this with you. He’s been informed of how this will work.
Jenne: Sure, right, fine! Good luck with your game!
Jenne stormed away as Karen looked after her.
Karen: Are you quitting? I do wish you’d take some time to cool off and think about it later.
But Jenne continued to march away where she slammed herself in her hut. Karen turned to go, but a gut feeling caused her to turn back toward the huts. In a fluid motion she hurried toward Jenne’s hut, ignoring the other castaways mingling about. She burst into the hut, and just as expected found Jenne ripping pages out of her journal, crucial pieces needed for the airing of the episodes. A struggle ensued, and the last thing castmembers saw was Jenne trudging away, bags in her hands, and she disappeared to the main resort.
Karen approached them red-faced, but collected none the less.
Karen: Jenne was destroying her journal. Because of her actions she has been removed from the game and will not be allowed to be a member of the jury. Therefore, Drew has been bumped up as the next juror.
Many heads shook. Many hands went to faces and temples. JoJo put a hand on Christopher’s arm. Elisabeth looked down at the ground sadly. Jake only scowled quietly, and Taylor was snarling. Only Missie and Isaac exchanged smiles, and Ashley merely looked on, seemingly unaffected.
Karen: There are nine of you left in the game at this moment. We will still have a challenge tonight and tribal council tomorrow.
She nodded to them after that firm statement and left them alone.
The castaways were speechless. The game had been too much. Taylor growled to himself. His best friend in the game had just been removed, and now he was going to have to rely on Christopher, JoJo, and Elisabeth. Elisabeth reached out and squeezed his hand.
Looking at Elisabeth quickly, Taylor managed a meager smile and returned to his hut.
Jake could only look around at everyone. The changes didn’t necessarily affect him. Jenne had never really been a part of his plans except to get him where he needed to be. Kyle—it would just all depend on how fairly he would co-host.
He looked around at the others remaining, sharing reactions to the changes.
Christopher finally left JoJo’s side and headed to his own hut for the afternoon. There was nothing more to negotiate, strategize, or decide. Jenne leaving the game just might change everything, and he wasn’t in the mood to figure it out now. With Taylor they held a five-person majority over the final nine. Securing a vote for Missie was the only way to secure Taylor’s vote. Missie would have to go.
He turned and looked out into the distance where Jenne was but a speck, waiting on the bus to pick her up and return her to the airport. It was true. She was gone. Christopher wouldn’t be able to see her until he returned home in roughly thirteen days. He retreated to his hut sadly.
A knock at his front door brought him out of the bed, and he wasn’t necessarily excited to see Isaac Miller. He had wanted to relax and take a break from the insane strategizing until challenge time.
Isaac seemed to glow.
Isaac: What do you think of the two changes to the game?
Christopher: Um, not so fond of them.
Isaac: I don’t care about Kyle being a co-host. I think he will be fair.
Christopher: No. Beth being on jury bothers me more. I think they should’ve shortened the jury. People voted out pre-jury are voted out for a reason. Someone didn’t want them on jury for some reason or another.
Isaac: At least we still have a game. So what happens now?
Christopher: Haven’t thought about it much. Where’s your head at?
Isaac: I would like to see us at final four.
Christopher eyed him for a moment.
Christopher: You, me, Missie, and JoJo?
Isaac nodded.
Isaac: I’d like to see Taylor go and then the three inactives.
Regarding him for a moment, Christopher didn’t say anything.
Isaac: What do you think about Jenne being gone? I am relieved.
Christopher shrugged.
Christopher: I never had to vote her out, so I kept my promise, and this certainly made my endgame easier.
Isaac: It gives me a lot of relief! Jenne was going to be a big problem for me, and now we get ninth place instead of tenth.
Christopher: Man, these past few days…crazy.
Isaac beamed.
Isaac: But exciting! It’s only going to get better! I’m just glad the emotional assaults will be over, I’m guessing for the rest of the game unless Taylor makes them. I can’t see anyone left being emotionally abusive anymore.
Christopher nodded but could not share the same excitement as Isaac. Jenne leaving was not good for him. Now he knew he was going to have to vote Missie to secure Taylor, and that alone was going to stir the pot again. Nevertheless, he agreed with Isaac surfacely.
Christopher: I think it will be mellow from here on out…
Isaac left him alone, left him to grumble after him as he went back to his nap. Isaac couldn’t help but to share his joy—even as he passed JoJo.
Isaac: Jenne is out of the game!
JoJo smiled weakly.
JoJo: This is wild, all these changes.
Isaac: I’m psyched for ‘em. Not too fond of the new jury members, but that is ok. We are final nine!
JoJo nodded and tried her best to smile along with him, but her smile faded quickly when he marched away. She knew she was not in a good spot. She barged into Christopher’s at once. Christopher groaned as he had been just about to fall off to sleep.
JoJo: This is so messed up! Couldn’t Karen have talked to Jenne first? And please do not leave me!
Christopher sat up groggily.
Christopher: No, I’m here. We’re taking it all the way.
JoJo: Do you think we are ok?
Christopher: I think we could be in trouble. Hopefully Taylor will be enraged.
JoJo: Do we have Tay?
Christopher: We need to work on him.
JoJo: Seriously, if he switches to Isaac or Missie or whoever…
JoJo heaved at Christopher. The thought was unbearable.
JoJo: He will be axed as soon as they get rid of us.
Christopher arose and went to the window where he peered out and saw Taylor standing on the porch of his hut, looking somewhat lost. He motioned for JoJo to hold on and went to the door where he peeked out and beckoned Taylor over.
Christopher turned to JoJo and gave her a wink before Taylor came in. Taylor wasted no time in spewing rants about the current situation.
Taylor: Does Karen want freaking Missie to win this game?
Christopher: I have no clue what’s going on. Beth is jury, Kyle is co-host, and Jenne is kicked out.
Taylor: This is ridiculous! Karen has gone nuts! What we need to do is just continue pagonging. We have the numbers still. Unless, of course, Karen gives Missie immunity for the rest of the game.
Taylor growled, and Christopher and JoJo exchanged relieved glances. Christopher spurred him on in his anger.
Christopher: And then Missie and Isaac…Isaac is gleeful!
Taylor jerked his head up.
Taylor: Where do they get off? Where the hell do they get off?
Christopher: Missie said she wanted the pleasure of voting Jenne off herself. I feel like the game is getting redesigned to benefit Missie and crew. I respect and like Karen and am sure she is doing what she thought was right…
JoJo: Missie really has had it made in this game.
Christopher: Missie and Isaac were just over the top about this after being so pissy for the last few days.
Taylor: The only thing we can do is put their asses on the jury.
Christopher: I agree. We have to do this now. This is about righting a wrong.
He looked over at Taylor fondly and put a hand on his shoulder.
Christopher: We cannot let Missie break us up.
Taylor: Missie winning would repulse me, so she has to go next. No if’s, and’s, or but’s.
That was exactly what JoJo and Christopher needed to hear, and as Taylor left the hut, they felt better about their positions.
The fireworks flew when Missie found Taylor ambling about, and she approached him at once wanting to make things right, wanting to return their alliance back to the way it was at the beginning of the game, wanting to take control with the numbers they could have now that Jenne was gone. Taylor listened and agreed then scoffed and laughed once Missie went out on her way. There was no way she was going to make him budge.
Seeing Missie leave the game would be the highest point of any game Taylor had experienced—especially now with the absence of Jenne.
The day passed quickly. The single goal on many people’s minds that afternoon was obtaining the treasured immunity necklace. The game was completely up in the air, especially with Jenne’s departure. The one changing factor would be in Taylor Napier, and at the moment he seemed to have his eyes set on Missie Bird. Still JoJo worried. Christopher knew that something could happen, but he held his peace throughout the day and as he and JoJo made their way together toward the grand ballroom to compete in the challenge.
JoJo looked about nervously as they walked. The one person she figured would confront her about some type of strategy hadn’t even approached her all day.
JoJo: Interesting Missie hasn’t tried to work on me.
Christopher nodded and looked about.
Christopher: Me either. They will focus on Tay, Jake, and Lizzie. She realizes you and I are not the weak links.
A horrified light came into JoJo’s eye.
JoJo: I wonder who they would try to vote off if Taylor agreed to work with her?
Christopher sighed and looked at JoJo for a moment before he answered.
Christopher: Me or you—me likely.
JoJo: One of us. Taylor assumes she would target you too.
They reached the ballroom where Missie and Isaac already stood waiting for Karen. Missie offered a grin from across the room, and JoJo nodded in return.
JoJo: This is the first time she hasn’t tried to work on me.
Christopher: She knows where we stand.
JoJo forced a pleasant smile, but her stomach was turning in circles. Taylor entered behind them and tapped Christopher on the shoulder as he passed. JoJo and Christopher both turned to look at him. He smiled brightly.
Taylor: We have to do this.
He glanced at Missie out of the corner of his eye.
JoJo: Then Missie can’t win immunity.
Taylor nodded. A flash of relief coursed through both Christopher and JoJo, but nothing would set them at ease more than to see one of the five leave at the following night’s tribal council. That was the only way they would be safe to the end.
JoJo looked across once more to Missie.
Ashley entered the ballroom and went to stand next to Isaac. Missie immediately began chattering in her ear, and JoJo cringed.
JoJo could only hope. She glanced at Taylor as they waited. The passion and will was set in his face. He would be going all out for this immunity. But there was no way to know which way he would swing.
Christopher made his way to Missie’s side and smiled down at her. She looked up at him questioningly.
Christopher: I hope you win immunity.
He whispered so low that she almost misunderstood him. Was this good or bad?
Christopher: Try really hard.
She nodded, not knowing what to make of his request. Was he subtly telling her she was in danger?
Missie: Always.
And Christopher returned to his initital corner.
Finally Elisabeth and Jake entered the ballroom, and Karen was not far behind, receiving an applause as the challenge would definitely be taking place that evening. The game was moving onward.
Elisabeth reached out and gave Christopher a hug. Jake merely smiled at them.
Karen cleared her throat and garnered everyone’s attention, smiling at them as they were accustomed. She looked back into the game, and that was a relief to all.
Karen: This challenge is a puzzle race.
She swept her hands to her right where seven booths had been erected, each with locked doors. She then indicated the table before her where nine boxes sat.
Karen: You will solve individual puzzles whose answers will decode the lock on these boxes giving you access to the key to the first door and so on. Once you open each door you must grab your box and follow the instructions there. You must open your box to move on to the next door. In other words, you cannot rush into each room because someone else has opened them. By the end of the race, the first one to reach the final booth, obtaining all seven keys will win immunity.
The survivors looked around excitedly. Karen paused to note that Jon Kennedy had not arrived. He had been missing since the previous tribal council. Shaking her head, she pushed it aside and raised her hand in the air.
Karen: The answer to your first puzzle is a seven-letter word for a chocolate treat or a mushroom. Input those seven letters into the lock on your first box and you will find a key to the first booth. The process continues with each booth. Survivors ready…
She dropped her arm quickly.
Karen: Go!
And the nine players rushed off to the table, each grabbing a box, furiously punching in letters to the code.
Christopher whispered to JoJo as they reached the table.
Christopher: The first clue is truffle! Try truffle!
JoJo nodded and fumbled nervously with her hands over the box. Christopher was the first to open his box, and while JoJo worked furiously, Taylor was the next to open his. Isaac and Elisabeth brought up the rear but Missie and Jake struggled.
Pulling a slip of paper and a key out of his box, Christopher read quickly.
Christopher: To talk on and on is to…
He thought for a moment as he headed to the second booth and unlocked it with his key. Stuffing the first key in his pocket, he picked up the box in the booth and began plugging letters into the lock.
At this second puzzle Christopher lost time as he tried to figure out the word. In the mean time, Isaac and Taylor jumped ahead of him, Isaac being the first into his box for his clue to the third booth. Christopher groaned as he turned to JoJo and together they figure out the password and followed shortly.
Missie and Jake continued to struggle at the first puzzle, and Elisabeth lost her momentum with the second. Ashley merely stood there gazing. Others were so far ahead, she didn’t even attempt the challenge.
Isaac pulled his slip of paper out of the box and read.
Isaac: An official at a sporting event is a…
He looked up thoughtfully, words not coming to his mind. Umpire? Umpires?
Christopher jumped back into the lead, answering correctly with referee as Taylor followed close behind. JoJo pulled up the anchor of the four. By that time Elisabeth, Missie, and Jake had given up and resorted to spectating.
Christopher: An advertisement on TV is a….

Commercial, he thought to himself, unlocked door number five, plugged in the letters to the lock of the waiting box and opened it promptly. Isaac followed, then Taylor, then JoJo. The others began cheering them on.
Upon opening the box, they found a picture of a candle.
Christopher fumbled with is box in the fifth room giving Isaac the lead as he became the first into door number six. Christopher followed by a hair as did Taylor. JoJo still trailed.
Isaac jerked the box open and pulled out a picture with a kaleidoscope of triangles. He groaned as he read the instructions to count the number of triangles within the picture. Each of them struggled to count the triangles within the myriad of shapes, but Christopher once again came out on top and was the first into the sixth booth, reading the next puzzle.
Christopher: Back in the aisle of huts is a strategically placed holiday item…
Christopher wanted to cry when he finished the rest of the instructions in his head.
Christopher: Go back to the aisle of huts and find this item, bring it back with your seven keys to claim the win.
He had no choice but to sprint outside and down to the beach where the mystery item awaited somewhere. Isaac and Taylor followed close behind. JoJo continued on but with less resolve as the three men hurried much ahead of her.
Isaac and Taylor found themselves scavanging the same corner of the aisle. Taylor wished not to converse as he searched frantically, but Isaac chattered on.
Isaac: How have you been?
Taylor: Ok till the changes in the game. I thought they were unfair.
Isaac: I didn’t. Except maybe the jury part.
Taylor: I don’t like a player being able to look at my journal.
Isaac shrugged as they searched around huts, looking this way and that.
Isaac: I don’t really care when he’s not in the game anymore.
Taylor: I do.
Isaac regarded him for a moment.
Isaac: I guess I have nothing to hide.
Taylor: And I’m upset about Jenne leaving.
Isaac: Can’t say that I feel the same way. I mean, I still like Jenne, but I’m not upset about her leaving for obvious reasons.
Taylor: I think everyone should be sad for the way she was taken out.
Isaac: Why? She was trying to get rid of her journal.
Taylor stopped searching for a moment, the sore spot having been hit and agitated.
Taylor: It’s her right. It was her journal!
Isaac: No, it’s not…
Taylor: Yes, it is!
Isaac: They belong to the host…we all know that.
Taylor: I don’t look at it that way.
Isaac shrugged. There was no use arguing because it wasn’t going to accomplish anything but more animosity when things seemed to have loosened up a bit.
Isaac: Anyway, I’m just glad we still have a game.
Taylor: Well, I am too. I just don’t like the way it was handled. Why do you seem so angry toward me?
Isaac chuckled.
Isaac: I’m not. You just think that every time I disagree with you.
Taylor: Well, every time I disagree with you, you talk to me like I’m an idiot!
Isaac: No I don’t. You just think I am…get some confidence.
Taylor sneered as he stared at Isaac, both of them abandoning their search for the mystery holiday item.
Isaac: I can’t say one word without you thinking I’m offended!
Taylor: You did vote for me the other night?
Isaac: So that means I’m pissed off at you? Because I have to write someone’s name down? Look…I don’t want to go at it with you. I disagree with you about the changes, yes, but I’m not mad at you.
Taylor scoffed.
Taylor: That’s because you aren’t negatively affected.
Isaac shrugged.
Isaac: So, obviously I like them.
Taylor: We’re just on the opposite sides of the fence.
Isaac: Looks like it.
Taylor: No biggie.
Isaac: I don’t want us to get cutthroat or ugly.
Taylor: No, we wouldn’t want that.
Taylor wanted to smirk, but there was a vote that could very well still go for him, so he turned and continued on his search. He stumbled upon Christopher as they looked in between huts, on trees, in bushes. The item could be anywhere.
Taylor: Isaac just picked a fight with me about the Jenne issue.
Christopher shook his head disgustedly.
Christopher: Clearly in Missie’s pocket.
He glanced over to where Isaac combed the aisle.
Christopher: Isaac could win this if he finds the secret item.
Taylor opened his mouth to respond when something caught his eye. On the first hut at the entrance of the aisle of huts that had once belonged to Rami hung a stocking. It was unmistakeable and clearly had not been there before.
Taylor waited for a moment, took some steps away until Christopher’s back was turned before he crept, snatched the stocking, and sprinted back toward the ballroom.
Taylor: I win!! Stocking!
Christopher jerked his head up as Taylor darted toward the main resort. He shot a fist in the air toward him and called after him.
Christopher: Hey! Right on!
He wasn’t sure it was such a good turn of events, but nevertheless, he was proud of Taylor for his first immunity win. Isaac emerged then, and he, JoJo, and Christopher made their way back to the ballroom.
Back in the ballroom, Taylor was crowned the winner of the ninth immunity challenge of the game and thus adorned with the coveted necklace. He beamed as the others applauded him. Christopher and JoJo each squeezed him tightly.
Missie forced a smile but applauded nonetheless.
Isaac: Well, that sucked.
Missie nodded in disgust and glanced at the others around her.
Missie: Why don’t we take out Lis?
Isaac: I doubt we can. Chris won’t go for it.
Missie: Me, you, Jon, Ash, and JoJo?
Isaac shook his head again.
Isaac: JoJo is with Chris.
Missie frowned and turned to him.
Missie: So what? We let them take out Jon or Ash?
Isaac: I don’t even see Jon around anymore. Have you seen him?
Missie shrugged, annoyed by the matter. She didn’t care, she just wanted to see some shift in the game with Christopher’s power.
Missie: A few nights ago.
Isaac: I don’t know what to do. I’m afraid that if we try to pull off a Lis vote that Chris will find out and pull off a vote for one of us. We have to use either JoJo or Jake.
Missie: How about taking out Jake? We should try and work with Taylor…mend some fences.
Isaac: We just fought, unfortunately.
He shook his head and groaned.
Isaac: I think we are better voting off Jon. We’ll just have to work from there because it’s too risky for us to ruffle any feathers. Maybe if we sacrifice Jon this time, they’ll sacrifice Lis next.
It was worth a shot. If Taylor wasn’t going to work with them, it was the only other shot they had.
Isaac made his way over to Taylor, congratulating him on the challenge. It was big for all of them to see Taylor win the challenge. He and Taylor shook hands he Isaac ventured out with the question of the night.
Taylor shrugged.
Taylor: I’m just wondering where the vote is going now since I’m immune. I thought it would be going toward me.
Isaac: I think it’s the inactives turn to leave finally.
Taylor: And those would be?
Isaac shrugged casually.
Isaac: Jon…Lis.
Taylor: Not Ashley?
Isaac extended a hand toward where Ashley was mingling with the others.
Isaac: She showed up for the challenge, didn’t she? I think Jon needs to leave. I haven’t seen him in ages.
Taylor: I agree about Jon.
At that, Isaac nodded emphatically, making up his mind.
Isaac: I’m definitely voting for Jon. And Taylor…
Taylor looked over at him. It was amusing, this new camaraderie with Isaac. For some reason, it made his immunity necklace that much more noticeable.
Isaac: You do know that I only voted with Kyle last time, right? It wasn’t an anti-Taylor vote. I feel bad that we haven’t gotten to know each other in this game which has resulted in our bad feelings for one another. It’s because you don’t know me—
Taylor: And you don’t know me.
Isaac nodded.
Isaac: I’m not the same Isaac from season two.
Taylor: And I’m not the same Taylor.
Isaac smiled.
Isaac: So the ice is fresh now. It’s a new game.
Extending a hand, Isaac grinned toward Taylor. Taylor was skeptical at first but he took it gratefully. In Taylor’s mind this was no new deal. Missie was firmly in his sights no matter how Isaac tried to smooth things over.
Having Isaac on his side for a moment was just an added bonus.
From a distance Christopher noticed Isaac fast at work on Taylor and he nudged JoJo by the arm, who in turn touched Jake. The three of them watched for a moment. It was an unnerving site. JoJo and Christopher exchanged concerned glances. It was time to beat Isaac at his own game and reel Taylor in. With the help of Jake and Elisabeth it seemed totally plausible.
Quickly, they huddled, devised a meeting place, and Christopher volunteered to grab Taylor the moment he was alone and whisk him away.
When JoJo, Jake, and Elisabeth left the building, Christopher watched patiently until he was able to approach Taylor alone.
Taylor was currently the cornerstone of the game, and everyone knew it.
When Taylor passed by Christopher, Christopher called out to him in a low voice.
Christopher: This is going to sound hokey and fake, but I am feeling very proud of you. I think you needed this. You seem one hundred percent turned around.
Taylor puffed his chest out proudly.
Taylor: I am.
Christopher: I don’t think you’ve had much fun or been super happy, so I’m glad for you. Sorry, I don’t want to sound like Isaac…and gross!
Christopher shivered visibly and rolled his eyes.
Christopher: But I’m proud for you. This has made me smile…the whole Shii Ann thing.
Christopher let him revel for a moment before leaning in to whisper.
Christopher: Go meet JoJo back at the aisle.
Taylor looked at him oddly but Christopher said nothing else as he saw Isaac approaching in the distance.
Christopher: Just go!
Taylor complied and was gone as soon as Isaac came to stand next to Christopher. Isaac watched him disappear.
Isaac: Taylor has been whining to me.
Christopher: What about now?
Isaac: He hates the changes, Jenne was taken out unfairly, this is all crap. That’s pretty much it. Cry me a river; at least we have a game.
Christopher eyed him for a moment, biting his tongue.
Isaac: Now Taylor has immunity and is probably going to try and get me voted out. He hates me.
Christopher: You think so?
Isaac: I do actually.
Christopher: I’m not sure what he will do.
Isaac: I think Jon is the obvious vote. But I don’t know what to do since Taylor is all pissed at me. Apparently I’m all angry at him.
Christopher: Because of you guys arguing?
Isaac shook his head vigorously.
Isaac: I never said anything. I’m tired of him accusing me of attacking him. I can’t disagree with him without it being that I hate him.
Christopher: Understood.
Isaac continued to shake his head dejectedly.
Isaac: Well, I’m done now. I’ll see you later.
Christopher watched him go for a moment but couldn’t get to the aisle of huts fast enough where the others had convened in JoJo’s hut. Taylor was in the midst of them happier than Christopher had ever seen him, receiving all kinds of hugs and praise from the others.
Taylor: First time I will be safe in twenty tribal councils!
Christopher smiled fondly and patted him on the back.
Christopher: I wish Jenne was here so we could tell her.
JoJo: She would party with us.
She turned to Taylor and hugged him tightly.
JoJo: Now hide until tomorrow because you are gonna have some serious ass kissin’!
She looked at him seriously.
JoJo: Missie can make a lot of sense when she is working on you hard.
Christopher: That is how we got pulled into the Beth thing.
Taylor glanced between the two of them. Elisabeth and Jake watched hopefully as he listened to the advice.
JoJo: Don’t listen to Missie, I tell you!
Taylor: I know, I know. I’ve listened to her before.
Christopher scanned his group around him.
Christopher: I’ll have to tell you honestly. If anyone switched…
He turned back to Taylor and put a finger in his chest.
Christopher: They would get fifth place with that group at best. Anyway, I have avoided talking game with Missie. She will just twist everything you say.
Taylor nodded but couldn’t help the grin on his face as he fingered the necklace around his neck.
Christopher clapped him gruffly on the back.
Christopher: I’m so proud for you.
JoJo: Good for you, Taylor. Great job!
Elisabeth bounded over and hugged him tightly. Jake merely stood there quietly, watching. Christopher cleared his throat and clapped his hands together.
Christopher: You guys, Missie and Isaac are working hard on everyone. We are much more vulnerable without Jenne, but if we hold strong at five, we can boot some folks.
Jake: Starting with Missie I assume?
Christopher: I sure hope so.
JoJo: If for no other reason but we need to get rid of her share immunity.
Christopher: Although Isaac is doing his best to piss Taylor off.
He threw a wink at Taylor. Taylor blew it off.
Taylor: Yeah, but Missie has to go. Although I so want to tell Isaac off.
And it was decided. They spent a bit of time together celebrating in the moment, but as the evening hour grew later, they dispersed for the night.
Christopher stepped outside JoJo’s hut later than everyone else and before he could take a few steps away, he was startled by Missie’s voice.
Missie: So are we taking out Jon tomorrow night, or what?
He sighed within himself before turning to face her. She leaned nonchalantly against a tree with her arms folded, eyeing him coldly.
Christopher: That is what Isaac suggested to me. I’m always down for voting someone who hasn’t spoken to me since the third tribal council.
Missie eyed him.
Missie: And the other inactives?
Christopher: Y’all can vote Lizzie, but I won’t help you on that one.
Missie nodded. Of course. Why would he? It was the same all over the board for so many people. She almost glared at him, and Christopher frowned.
Christopher: Hey…you will have to respect that since I wouldn’t vote for you more than a few times when people yelled at me. If you guys take her out, then so be it.
He paused and softened his countenance.
Christopher: I will cry though. She’s so sweet and cute and positive.
Missie: Dude, that’s nice and all, but so is Jon when he’s here.
Christopher: I have no doubt. You can “not” vote for him if you want. I will understand. He just never talks to me, so I don’t know jack about him. But you guys always voted together.
Missie: I don’t have any deal with him. He will just usually vote how I ask him to save his own ass. He would not vote for you or Kyle. Right now he’s MIA.
Christopher: Well, that is sweet.
Missie nodded.
Missie: Smart kid. He knows what to do. He just isn’t available to do it.
Christopher never committed one way or the other that night, but he left it at that. Missie and Isaac both assumed the target would be Jon. Why not? He had virtually disappeared since the previous tribal council. Furthermore, Christopher and JoJo were with them, were they not?
Missie looked after Christopher as he disappeared into his hut. They had been dishonest with her during two votes. Why should she think they would still be with her?
Nevertheless, their only option was to boot Jon. There was no other way.
Christopher peeked out of his window before crawling into bed. Missie stood silently in the darkness. He didn’t know how long she was going to stand there, but she seemed content in her solitude.

Day 27
The dawning of the final day for yet another person in the game, Missie and Isaac began working first thing. They worked Taylor and Christopher as hard as they could, virtually leaving the others out of the equation.
Christopher wasn’t surprised but highly exasperated when Isaac was the first person to cut him off his first step out of the hut.
Isaac: Hi, Chris, how are you today?
Christopher couldn’t help but smile back at him as Isaac was a charming young fellow.
Christopher: Yo, Isaac! I’m alright, yourself?
Isaac: Fine. I just want tribal council to be over with.
Christopher: I agree.
Isaac: I don’t see any reason why Jon shouldn’t be voted out.
Isaac grinned and looked up to Christopher.
Isaac: I think you should take me to final two. I lose zero to seven.
Christopher arched his brow.
Christopher: You think? That is a good selling point, I have to admit. One thing Christopher had to admire about Isaac Miller was that he was a charming young boy. If Christopher hadn’t other priorities he wasn’t sure Isaac’s game might not work for him—even more so if he wasn’t aligned with Missie Bird.
It was so good that Christopher laughed to himself as he took it straight back to his allies—Jake in particular.
Christopher: Isaac just told me I should take him to final two!
Jake shook his head.
Jake: Oh, poor kid. He is absolutely imploding.
Christopher: It was just weird on so many levels. A)…no guarantee I’ll get there. B)…him? C)…him?
Jake laughed aloud.
Christopher: D)…I could go on. But…him?
Jake: Has he talked to you much all game?
Christopher: For the past two cycles, but prior to that, no.
Jake: I can’t believe he’s thinking that this might actually be working. He’s out of control.
Taylor thought it was just as amusing when Christopher passed along the information to him.
Taylor: How stupid and random. I’m just not gonna talk to him.
Christopher: I thought it was sorta funny. Like, hi, how’s the weather…take me to final two!
Taylor: Please…
Christopher: I bet he tries it on someone else too.
Taylor agreed and kept his distance the entire day. Their plans were set, and as far as Taylor was concerned, not debatable. He would feel much better off without Missie and Isaac in his hair for the next twelve hours.
Taylor felt more secure than he had the whole game, and as he relaxed that day, avoiding Missie and Isaac at all cost, he basked in his safety. To brighten his day even more, he happened upon Elisabeth out on the beach. Trotting up to her, he grabbed her in a tight embrace and she giggled out loud.
Taylor: Lizzie! The only other person with me from season four!
She gaped and glanced back off toward the huts. It looked like a ghost town. No one ambled out as she had seen a little less than a month before when twenty people inhabited the lodging. It was surreal.
Elisabeth: Are we the only ones left already?
Taylor beamed proudly.
Taylor: Yep! Started with eleven counting Drew…down to you and me.
Elisabeth: Oh my gosh! That’s crazy! We started off with the most people too!
She paused and smiled up at the tall form that was Taylor Napier.
Elisabeth: Well, I can’t think of two better people to make it this far.
Taylor blushed slightly and turned away.
Taylor: Awww, thanks. I’m happy to be here with you. I thank you for sticking by me at the last tribal council.
Elisabeth: What else would I have done?
Taylor: I want you to know the agreement we had at the beginning still holds weight with me. I want you at the end with me.
She nodded sweetly and patted his shoulder as they walked toward the pier.
Elisabeth: Hopefully we can strengthen ourselves back. We distanced somewhere in the middle, and we need each other. So, let’s just do what we meant to do and finish this!
Taylor: Let’s not let Missie come between us again! That’s a note to self for me.
Elisabeth: No problem there with me!
So Taylor was enjoying the day, trying not to think too far ahead where a final five situation was going to be tricky. Getting to the end with Elisabeth was going to be no small task, and he knew it.
Shaking it out of his mind, Taylor turned to Elisabeth with a smile and they enjoyed the rest of their stroll together and some quality time for the remainder of the afternoon.
On the other hand, JoJo Treadwell was at her wits end with what direction Taylor Napier was planning to take. He had vowed his loyalty to a fault, but she knew Missie was so persuasive and smooth. Taylor could and had been easily influenced in a moment’s notice and that tugged on JoJo’s nerves. All day her stomach turned, and when she realized that Missie was going to have nothing to do with her before the tribal council, she was sure something was amiss. Not even Isaac could placate her with his vow for a vote for Jon.
JoJo: I’m unusually nervous.
Isaac looked at her oddly. JoJo, of all people, nervous? She was, perhaps, the safest remaining.
Isaac: Why?
JoJo: Missie hasn’t talked to me. Am I going?
Isaac chuckled, but JoJo was sincerely nervous and it showed in her eyes.
Isaac: Not at all. Still Jon.
JoJo: I’m just a big ol’ spaz.
Isaac: I would never lie to your face like that. Just remember that, and you won’t be nervous.
He paused and shifted his eyes down to his feet.
Isaac: Unless, of course, Missie is planning that without me knowing about it.
JoJo shot him a look. It was possibly the worst thing he could have said. She spent the afternoon gnawing on her fingernails, grabbing anybody she could possibly find for her security.
She saw Taylor and Elisabeth returning from the pier and cut them off at once.
JoJo: How are you guys feeling about things?
Taylor merely shrugged, and Elisabeth shook her head.
Elisabeth: I’m beyond nervous.
Looking at Taylor, JoJo waited for his response, but none came.
JoJo: No answer is not good?
Taylor: No, sorry! I’m just trying not to think too hard about it.
JoJo: Missie and Isaac working hard on you?
Taylor: Today, not one time.
That was somewhat relieving, but JoJo had convinced herself of her pending danger.
JoJo: You never told me what Missie came back to you with.
Taylor: Nothing. Last we talked she’s wanting Jon off. She just told me she wants us to be like we were in the beginning.
JoJo exchanged a glance with Elisabeth and then wrung her own hands nervously.
JoJo: Are we making this hard on you?
Taylor gaped.
Taylor: Um, no. Missie has already betrayed me way too many times.
JoJo: I’ve been worried that we are pressuring you too hard like Missie is. I want you to work with us so bad, but I don’t want you to feel like we are pressuring you.
Taylor laughed.
Taylor: I’m fully with you…don’t worry.
He paused and a playful gleam came into his eye.
Taylor: No other path, no other way.
In all of her uneasiness, JoJo knew she could count on Taylor to brighten a low point. Their common interest in one musical was all she needed at some points, and for the first time that morning she smiled at him.
JoJo: My Rent friend. Thank you, Taylor.
Still with the joy of a common bond, JoJo would not be settled until the end of tribal council whether Missie left the game or Taylor had totally played them, and she or Chris was dismissed. It was all the waiting and unsurety that killed her.
JoJo: I’m so worried!
Jake had answered his door to find JoJo in a state he had not seen her all game. Not even in a state he had seen her during their stint in St. Patrick’s Day.
Jake: What’s happened now?
Words failed her as she looked over one shoulder, indicating Taylor and Elisabeth in the distance. Jake followed her gaze quickly.
Jake: Taylor is with us, JoJo. He’s gotta be.
JoJo: I hope, I hope, I hope! ‘Cause if he isn’t—it’s either Chris or me.
Jake: Or me.
JoJo: Missie has not talked to me at all!
Jake: Taylor wouldn’t do that to us—especially after Isaac has gone all crazy.
JoJo: Unless it’s all lies! Mama, has gone a tad insane!
Jake couldn’t disagree, but he patted her gently on the shoulder.
Jake: It’ll turn out fine.
All JoJo could do was hope. She had gone to everyone, and there was no one left to confront. It was all in Taylor’s hands now.
Missie Bird had not been up to socializing that day. She had avoided everyone and with good reason. She had been betrayed and left out of votes from potential allies nearly the entire game and that evening would be no different. She knew the only person she could trust was Isaac.
She had tried to sway Taylor back to her side, but only time would tell if he had bitten. She and Taylor had shared very bitter blood since the beginning of the game. Hopefully he would stay true to a vote for Jon. He had promised as much, anyway. As had Chris. As had JoJo.
But Missie couldn’t find a peace that day.
Missie: Chris said something to me that worried me.
Over lunch Isaac and Missie had avoided any talk of game for the sake of their own sanity, but Missie couldn’t help but mention it at least once.
Isaac: What did he say?
Missie: Before the challenge he told me to try really hard for immunity.
Isaac frowned and looked at the table.
Missie: So, I think I’m gone.
Isaac shook his head.
Isaac: Oh no.
Missie: I asked Taylor, and he said no way.
She paused and let out a sigh.
Missie: But I lied to him. He has every right to lie to me.
Isaac: But Chris and JoJo would have to vote you out! Oh man, I hope that doesn’t happen or I will be pissed!
Missie: Chris has said he doesn’t know anything but that he feels like he is in danger. He always says that.
Isaac: Chris in danger?
Missie nodded solemnly.
Missie: So if I’m gone, watch out for him. Sell your soul to Taylor if you have to. Use Ash and Jon.
Isaac: Yes, I will.
They looked at each other sadly for a moment.
Isaac: I don’t want you to go, though. It will suck not having someone I know and can trust!
Missie: Isaac, you and I could have a great chance if we could just get the power away from Chris. Chris will not vote for Lis—at all.
Isaac looked down thoughtfully. It all made sense now—everything that had built up to that very moment.
Isaac: If one of us goes, they have no one to stop them. No one.
He glanced up hopelessly.
Isaac: You are right. It’s going to be one of us tonight.
Missie: Chris has been bonding with you so you won’t be so pissed. He will say he had no choice…blah blah blah. I love Chris; he is a great player. But he is dirty.
Isaac: If you go, I will be pissed and won’t be able to express that. Then I would be the next to go. I have to use Jake. He is my only shot.
The memories of all conversations with Christopher and JoJo rushed through Isaac’s mind.
Isaac: I will not feel bad about voting Chris and JoJo out. They’ve totally lied about everything. If only they hadn’t won all those stupid things at the last reward challenge!
Missie: I know, I know. This just makes me sad.
They both grew quiet as their food came to the table. Isaac hadn’t realized before in what dire a situation he was. It seemed fairly etched in stone that he was doomed.
They spent a good while eating quietly, thinking, reflecting, pondering. There wasn’t much strategy left to be done. Isaac finally broke the silence.
Isaac: I wish these questions could be asked at tribal council…
Missie looked up expectantly.
Isaac: Chris, how do you feel about voting Missie off tonight?
Missie tilted her head back and cackled out loud.
Isaac: JoJo, what is behind that motherly face of yours? How evil are you?
Missie: Oh, Isaac, I love you!
Isaac: Taylor, do you realize you are a flippin’ moron? Lis, are you a robot? I think Chris created you.
Missie: I love that so much. You crack me up!
Isaac: I try.
Missie looked at him fondly, her smile fading. The pit of her stomach told her this would be the last leisurely meal she would enjoy with her young friend Isaac Miller. For one of them, vacation on All Star Island was about to end.
Closer to the end of the afternoon, Christopher Collins found himself returning to his hut. Isaac and Missie had left off discussing any further strategy. JoJo had spent the better part of the day running around for an ounce of security.
Christopher wasn’t exactly sure what the outcome of the evening would be. Ironically enough it was all in the hands of Taylor, whether or not he would flip, whether or not the target for Jon Kennedy was all a ploy.
He sat heavily on his bed and sighed as he looked all around him, reflecting on the room, reflecting on the stunning beauty outside, reflecting on the people he had met. Reflecting on Jenne and how here absence in a span of twenty-four hours was enough to grieve him.
Next to his foot was his unzipped suitcase, and he kicked it open revealing a very valuable momento from his days of playing Survivor. One of his highlights of the Holidays series aside from meeting JoJo and becoming closer to Jenne Lotz was his romance with Rafe Judkins, also known as Chance from St. Patrick’s Day. In fact, the hightlight of his Holidays experience was not winning a game or making it far in another, but meeting the people he had grown to love.
He reached down and picked up the paper booklet, an illustrated narrative created just for him by Rafe himself. He let it fall open in the palm of his hand and leafed through the pages, smiling at the animated stick figures within the book, snickering at the puns and imagery of times past. It brought a wave of nostalgia as he thought back to the days of St. Patrick’s Day and the highs and lows that had brough him and Rafe together.
He remembered back when the first major alliance of St. Patrick’s Day had meshed together. It was he and Rafe as their respected aliases JC and Chance that had solidified it.
Chance: Tuck is going to approach you for an alliance.
Chance had eyed him carefully.
Chance: You don’t know that JoJo and I are aligned. He wants it to be the four of us…you, me, him and JoJo.
JC: So which is the real alliance?
Chance: This Tuck/JoJo alliance could be really good.
Christopher had to think about it for a moment.
JC: I like JoJo and Shauna. Phill is sweet, but a little scary. Tuck is smart, but a little scary. And I don’t love me no Shaun.
Chance: I know. It’s just good to have our bases covered for any kind of twist that may happen. We’ll be prepared for anything.
JC: We are gonna have one pissed jury!
Christopher sighed as he thumbed the pages of Rafe’s book. Their connection had become strong early during that game, but it wasn’t without its hardships. He remembered the struggle both of them had when it got out to the remaining cast that they had developed something more than a mere game alliance. It had been real.
He thought back once again.

JC: You disgust me.
He remembered the look on Rafe’s face, that dramatic day with only four people remaining in the game. In the running for sole Survivor had been JC, Chance, JoJo, and Shauna—with JC and Chance’s secret out.
Chance: What?
JC: This is over!
Chance: What are you talking about? I’m waiting for an explanation!
JC: You totally sold me out to JoJo! You care more about winning than keeping my confidences! JoJo told me things that I told you!
Rafe had gaped; words had failed him.
JC: You are so transparent. You are so invested in being the good guy that you don’t care if you break my trust!
Chance: I talked to JoJo about some of the things you said to me because they were insanely important! You talked to JoJo about stuff that Shauna and I said to you!
Christopher was indignant as he had glared at Rafe.
Chance: I did not betray you and I never would!
JC: JoJo also knows that I’m Christopher from Okinawa. Why would you sell me out like that? Does the game matter to you that much?
Chance: It doesn’t matter to me more than you! If it did, I would have voted out Shuana last night!
He paused, feeling the temperature rise to his cheeks. How could Christopher doubt him?
Chance: Do you know why I talked to JoJo about you?
JC: No! I do not know!
Chance: Because I needed to! I care about you so much that I just needed to talk to someone about it!
At the present, the door opened and Christopher was startled when JoJo walked in. He quickly closed the book in his hand and put it behind his back as she entered. A flash of memories with JoJo rushed through him in a moment’s notice of those days passed. His relationships with Rafe and JoJo had been quite the triangle of drama. They had all grown closer than any of them had ever expected. He and JoJo had gone around and around just as much. By the end of St. Patrick’s Day, Christopher and JoJo had come alright; in fact, closer than ever—to the point that Christopher had turned on Shauna.
However, JoJo was completely in the present, oblivious to Christopher’s musing.
JoJo: Lizzie needs to work on Tay. I think he is running away from me now!
Christopher: No…he’s not running.
JoJo: If one of us goes…
Christopher: It would be me.
JoJo: I can’t, nor do I want to play this game without you!
Christopher nodded solemnly.
Christopher: I want out if one of us goes.
JoJo: The Jenne boot couldn’t have come at a worse time.
Christopher: Let’s break some things down and try not to get ahead of ourselves. Don’t overthink it, but if we survive this boot and follow Isaac, Jon, and Ash…then what?
JoJo shook her head.
JoJo: My allegience is to you and Jake. Even more than Lizzie and Taylor.
She paused and put a hand to her mouth. She had vowed never to ask such a question of someone, but at the moment, she had to know.
JoJo: Do you and I have a final two?
Christopher laughed out loud.
JoJo: We’ve never said it, and I wouldn’t bring it up with Jenne here.
Christopher: We have been good at not making deals, and no we’ve never said it.
JoJo: One thing stays with me from St. Patrick’s Day…you said you never promised a final two with me, but you had one with Michelle all along.
Christopher nodded, amazed at the irony of her bringing up something he had just reminisced.
JoJo: Do you have a final two with anyone else? You can say yes without naming.
Christopher: No.
JoJo: I don’t either.
Christopher: I have always expected you to be at the end.
JoJo flushed and looked down.
Christopher: What is your endgame goal?
JoJo: Honestly, Chris, I don’t need to win.
Christopher: See, I don’t either, and I think you will.
JoJo: I would love to be in the final two with you or Jake, but Jake doesn’t want to be there with me. He said once that I am unbeatable.
Christopher: I think he will go with Lizzie and Taylor and boot us at final five.
JoJo: Indeed. We are now potentially screwed. I understand you have more allegiance to Lis than to Jake?
Christopher: This is my head…I love them both, I really do…
JoJo sat down next to him on the bed and looked at him hopefully.
JoJo: Jake wouldn’t hold it against us.
Christopher: Neither would Lis. They are both very good kids and more mature than everyone else. But Jake is anticipating going under the radar to all of our backstabbers. He told me straight up he thinks he would win the final challenge…
JoJo nodded, knowing where Christopher was going. It pained her, but she knew she was going to be agreeing with him.
Christopher: Hypothetically speaking, if final five is Jake, Lizzie, Taylor, and us…do we keep Jake?
JoJo looked at him quickly.
Christopher: Or do we keep the lesser threats?
There was a long pause before JoJo answered.
JoJo: The lesser threats.
Christopher: That is my head too. He will kick our asses.
JoJo nodded. It was the sad truth but something that needed to be done. She reached down and covered Christopher’s hand with her own.
JoJo: I can literally recall our first conversations in season one, and I just feel so lucky to have found you.
Christopher: Thank you. I feel the same. I do, Mama.
He sighed and looked down, bringing the booklet from behind his back. He held it out for JoJo to see.
Christopher: You are in this book. This book that Rafe wrote for me. I found it.
JoJo touched it lightly.
JoJo: Oh, Chris. It’s more endearing now, isn’t it?
Christopher: It is. It’s sweet. You appear several times.
JoJo: Do I wear a mommy apron or some hideous thing?
Christopher laughed as he flopped it open and slid his fingers across the drawings.
Christopher: Skirt, no shirt. We are all stick figures.
JoJo: Hot. He drew all that? Wow. He sat there with his little pen and made the pictures.
Christopher nodded, a sadness washing over him.
For a long while they chatted, sharing memories of the past, JoJo consoling him over longtime unresolved issues. It was a tender moment, and neither were without dry eyes before it was said and done.
JoJo: I totally get you, and you are not lame. I adore you—exactly as you be!
Christopher: I know you do. Thank you.
Before they knew what was going on, there was a knock on the door. They both dried their eyes quickly and scrambled to see a clock. Evening had already rushed them and they were shocked to see that tribal council was but an hour away.
The door opened and Elisabeth poked her head in timidly.
Elisabeth: Are we voting Missie?
Christopher and JoJo went at once to meet her in the front room.
Christopher: Anything can happen, and it all rests on Taylor. Missie is who he wants.
Jake entered behind Elisabeth and made his way in.
Jake: It does.
Christopher: I guess we will find out.
Jake frowned.
Jake: He better darn well do it.
Christopher pulled JoJo by the hand.
Christopher: JoJo is nervous. She has clammy hands and sweaty pits.
JoJo slapped him on the arm playfully.
Jake: What do I do if Isaac talks to me?
Christopher: Lie, lie, lie!
Jake sighed heavily.
Jake: I so don’t want to lie to Isaac, but I will.
Elisabeth: Who are they targeting?
JoJo: Jon.
Jake: Worst case scenario, Taylor votes for Jon.
Jake shrugged, feeling confident no matter the outcome, but Christopher and JoJo knew better.
Christopher: No, worst case scenario is if Jon is a ruse, and they are actually targeting one of us. They were originally pushing Tay to vote one of us when they “gave up” and said Jon.
Elisabeth’s eyes widened.
Elisabeth: They could do to us what happened last tribal council!
Christopher and JoJo nodded.
JoJo: I just feel something is up for some reason.
Elisabeth shrugged and put on a smile.
Elisabeth: Oh well, win or lose I am glad to have met everyone here. I think Missie and Isaac are nice people…
Christopher: Which is funny because you are the one they want to vote off!
Elisabeth flinched, but Christopher waved it off.
Christopher: But that said, I agree with you, Lizzie. I like them both as people. But in game—bah!
Elisabeth: Can anyone tell Missie? Or is she just going to be blindsided?
A voice called from behind them.
Taylor: No. We can’t tell her. We blindside her.
They all jumped and whirled around to find Taylor entering the hut.
Taylor: At least I think so.
Elisabeth: That just seems so mean not to say anything.
JoJo grabbed Christopher by the arm and whispered in his ear.
JoJo: Talk to her! That is scary!
Christopher nodded and looked up.
Christopher: Lizzie…
Taylor: Missie wanted to vote me off two weeks in a row without saying anything.
Elisabeth nodded sadly. Jake threw a casual glance around the room.
Jake: We’re just playing her game.
They all agreed. That night was going to be all or nothing. Do or die. If Missie survived the vote, then there would be Hell to pay on many counts. Elisabeth didn’t like the idea, but she knew it was best.
Little by little, so as not to completely give away their brewing alliance to Ashley or any of the others on the outside, they trickled toward the council area. Jake opted to make his journey alone and was exasperated when Isaac caught up with him enroute. The one thing he had hoped not to do was going to happen.
Jake was prepared to lie through his teeth.
Isaac fell into stride with him and made small talk before he actually dove in for the more expensive questions. Jake was key. He had thought that all along.
Isaac: So, to talk about the vote.
Jake: Still Jon?
Isaac felt a flush of relief.
Isaac: Yes, please.
Jake: I can do that.
Isaac: You haven’t heard anything else have you?
Jake: No, not really. To my knowledge it’s eight to one for Jon.
Isaac nodded gratefully.
Isaac: I’m just so nervous. I know I could be put on the chopping block for my close relations with Kyle.
Jake feigned insecurity.
Jake: So could I. I feel like I’m on the block tonight.
Isaac scoffed.
Isaac: Your name never comes up.
Jake: It has to at some point, and maybe I just won’t know about it.
Isaac: Well, I support ya for the most part.
Jake looked at him quickly and bit his lip. It was good to know, but nothing he could offer in return.
Jake: Back at ya. Isaac felt at ease by that. Jake had given him no reason not to trust him. After all, they had taken Halloween by storm together. They should have been playing together all along.
When they reached the council area, Isaac saw Ashley Miller standing there looking lost. It was the first time he had ever seen her scowl during the game—even when Jamie Drayson had put her on the chopping block back during the second tribal council of the game.
He approached her at once.
Ashley: So this tribal council I’m pretty much screwed.
Isaac was awed by any grumbling from Ashley.
Isaac: Why? No you aren’t! Vote for Jon…he never talks to anyone anymore.
She shrugged.
Ashley: People say the same about me.
Isaac: Well, you’re here aren’t you? You competed in the last challenge didn’t you?
Ashley: That’s what Jenne told me.
Isaac: Well, Jenne is gone now.
Ashley: I know, but that’s what everyone says about me, Jon, and Lis. I don’t think people will vote for Jon. Last time when Kyle left, Jon voted with them, and I’m sure they will use him again.
Isaac: Jon didn’t vote for Kyle.
He thought quickly.
Isaac: At least I didn’t think so.
Ashley: There were only four votes for Taylor, so I think he did. When Kyle was voted off that really showed who was with who.
Isaac: I still don’t think Jon voted for Kyle.
Ashley: I don’t care.
Ashley spat and was visibly aggravated.
Ashley: These people are crazy!
She looked back into the council area where Christopher and JoJo had already seated themselves. Taylor and Elisabeth were still standing and mingling with Jake.
Ashley: I said hi to them as they came in and most just ignored me.
Isaac shook his head in disgust.
Isaac: I will do what I can. I have campaigned for Jon.
Ashley: Well I’m behind you…
She then rolled her eyes.
Ashley: Since you got me in your pocket.
Isaac: I don’t have you in my pocket!
Ashley: Well that’s what people are saying!
Isaac: That’s what Jenne was saying, and she’s gone now.
Ashley shrugged. She felt the rest of the game was a hopeless battle that she had already lost.
Ashley: Oh well.
With that, she turned and made her way into the council area. Isaac stood for a moment until Missie came to the entrance, bringing up the rear of castaways. They looked at each other tragically before heading in to take their seats.
There was still no sign of Jon Kennedy anywhere.
Tribal Council 9
Karen began the council promptly by clearing her throat. Eight individuals were seated before her, and she scanned them briefly.
Karen: Has anyone heard from Jon today?
Heads shook. Some of them looked at each other. The fact was, nobody had seen him since the previous tribal council. Karen sighed and nodded.
Karen: As you are aware, Kyle has been made co-host, and will help me with tribal councils…
She reached her hand back and Kyle approached from the shadows and came to stand next to her. He nodded as the castaways waved at him, some of the smiling. But he said nothing as he clasped his hands behind his back and looked over his former opponents.
Karen: At this time we’ll bring in our members of the jury…
Drew Herlitz, much to the chagrin of many, entered from the dark corners of the council area and took his seat on a bench adjacent to the players. He nodded quickly.
Karen: Drew now joins us as the first jury member. Behind him is Beth…
Beth Sowles entered, as well, and went straight to her seat next to Drew.
Karen: Beth is now the second member of the jury. Remember jury, you are here to merely observe.
She turned and faced the castaways.
Karen: Welcome, Tribe Feste, to tribal council number nine. Unfortunately, one of you will be leaving the game tonight and joining the jury. Christopher…
Christopher peeled his eyes from the jury and looked at Karen.
Karen: Are you upset that Jenne is gone? What are your thoughts on her actions just before she was removed from the game?
Christopher: I am upset Jenne is gone. She is a friend—a very close friend. I always knew it would be hard to lose her, but I had no idea it would be so unexpectedly. Strategically, it opens my game. I know people worried about my ties to her, so there is that. Still, it’s not enough of a bonus prize to make me happy. It’s more like a booby prize to me.
He paused and grinned impishly.
Christopher: And if you’ve seen Jenne, booby prize is more appropriate.
Missie and JoJo giggled out loud. Others smiled. Ashley still hadn’t cracked a smile that evening.

Christopher: As far as Jenne’s actions, I didn’t agree. I thought it was rash, and I wouldn’t have done it. I wish she had talked to the hosts and worked through it, but that wasn’t her path.
He nodded his conclusion.
Karen: Also, Christopher, why are you voting for the person you are tonight?
Christopher rolled his eyes.
Christopher: I’ve been honest with everyone the whole time in the sense that this is a game to me. I am not voting against people because I don’t like them. It’s strategy. Self-perservation.
He looked over at Missie who was intently facing the front.
Christopher: We signed up for a game of strategy, and my vote will be strategic. Not personal.
Karen nodded when Christopher faced forward again and said nothing more.
Karen: Elisabeth, did you ever think you would be able to make final nine?
Elisabeth giggled out loud and tossed her long, blonde hair over one shoulder.
Elisabeth: I never expected to make it into the game in the first place. The other people here are amazing. I honestly don’t think I’m of the same caliber as any of them. But I try, and somehow that got me to final nine. I’m just ecstatic, grinning from ear to ear—which is a weird analogy—but it will not go away any time soon. Whether I get voted off or not.
She nodded her finish, and Karen looked over at Isaac. Isaac straightened.
Karen: Isaac, how do you feel about Jenne leaving the game? Are you upset?
Isaac: I’m sad that she had to leave in the manner she did. I really did like her, but I am not upset that she is no longer in the game. I felt very threatened by her and her game play towards me.
Karen: Do you have endgame plans in mind?
Isaac swallowed quickly.
Isaac: I think everyone has endgame plans in mind, but they always change no matter what happens. There is no guarantee that anything I may be thinking may actually happen. That pretty much goes for everyone.
He looked over at Christopher and JoJo.
Isaac: I don’t even know if I will be here after this vote.
Karen nodded.
Karen: JoJo, have you had fun in this game?
Beth Sowles, on the other side of the bonfire, leaned in to listen closely. JoJo was acutely aware of her presence.
JoJo: I have had fun during parts of the game, yes. Is that all?
Karen: Why did you vote the way you did at the last tribal council?
JoJo nodded slightly and looked at Kyle who stood quietly next to Karen, his hands still clasped behind his back.
JoJo: That is a good question. It was not an easy vote for me because I care about Kyle. Additionally I was really concerned about not voting with Missie because try as we may, we have not been able to truly work together in this game. I wanted us to.
Missie pressed her lips together and looked at JoJo. JoJo felt it.
JoJo: Ultimately I felt like it was the best decision for me strategically, and I really didn’t think it was Taylor’s time to go yet.
Missie was still looking at JoJo with some contempt when Karen called her name out. Missie heard enough of the question to answer.
Karen: Were you shocked at the outcome of the last tribal council?
Missie: Duh!
She threw a last glance at Christopher and JoJo before returning to Karen.
Missie: I sure was.
There was a snicker from the group as Karen moved on.
Karen: Taylor, how close do you think you were to leaving at the last tribal council? Did it help you solidify who you feel has your back in this game?
Taylor scowled for a moment, looked at Kyle, then back to Karen.
Taylor: I was probably pretty close to leaving, and it did let me know who my real friends are. People have lied to me in this game and have tried to backstab me when I’ve been completely truthful. They’ve tried to drive stakes through my friendships. It just showed me who really wanted to win this game badly enough to pull such deceitful moves.
Missie rolled her eyes and looked away. JoJo and Christopher exchanged glances.
Karen: The next question I’d like Jake to answer. Then I’ll open up the same for group discussion. What are your thoughts on the addition of Drew and Beth to the jury?
Beth and Drew both straightened and grinned at each other, each knowing that forthcoming answers would be very interesting.
Jake: Originally I was worried, and I guess I still am. It’s very intimidating having tribal council with Beth right there.
He managed a smile and waved quickly at her. Beth merely smirked and winked at him coolly.
Jake: Yes…we voted them out of the tribe not expecting them to be on the jury. Gotta roll with the punches I guess. It definitely changes the game.
Isaac raised his hand, and Karen promptly called on him.
Isaac: I didn’t care much at first…I was just happy we had a game. But as I think about it, it does concern me because I voted both Beth and Drew out. I would be lying by saying it doesn’t bother me a little bit. I didn’t vote for Kyle, and he is no longer on the jury, so that doesn’t help me much.
Karen: This just goes to prove a point in Survivor. Your past does come back to haunt you.
Karen seemed slightly amused by her statement, but she maintained her air of professionalism.
Karen: That is why it is important to play strategically against all players and not just the ones you expect to be on the jury.
She smiled and looked around.
Karen: Any more comments on the subject? No one raised their hand.
Karen: Last group question…do you feel this game is worth the intense gameplay you have put into it? I’ll add...is it worth the changes to continue.
Hands went up all around the room.
Jake: Heck yes and heck yes. This game is really fulfilling, and I really do get a lot out of it. I am more and more proud every time I move on. It is absolutely worth every second.
Taylor: Yes and no. Some of the intense gameplay has lead to events that I didn’t ever want to happen. It is safe to say that this is the toughest game I’ve ever played. Like Jake, I’m happy each time I survive tribal council.
He looked around at the others. Many eyes were on him.
Taylor: I think we as a group have taken this game too seriously at some points. And although it did hurt to lose Jenne, the changes are worth it to continue.
He looked down fondly at the necklace around his neck.
Taylor: And, hey! I won immunity and will hopefully get to keep it! I’m pretty much happy with everything right now.
Laughter went around, mut Missie couldn’t find any humor in the present.
Missie: I’m a lot different I think. I don’t think any game is worth some of the crap that has happened to people and about people and with people in this game. I’d much rather have the game cancelled than for it to continue as it was.
She looked at Christopher and JoJo once again.
Missie: That being said, if I do go tonight, I am done worrying about things I have no control over, getting paranoid with the he said, she said.
JoJo: I’ve always attempted to separate game from friendships, but in this game the line between the two has really been blurred.
She looked over at Missie.
JoJo: If in fact I have hurt people in the way I’ve played, then no…I would never think a game is worth that.
Missie scowled. No other hands went up and Karen hesitated for a moment.
Karen: Taylor has immunity tonight. Everyone else is vulnerable. With that said, it’s time to vote.
Beth crossed her arms as she sat back and watched the remaining survivors take turns at the voting booth. Drew glanced around at everyone.
Missie scratched her head nervously as she waited, looking at the ground, avoiding eye contact with anyone. Isaac looked over and patted Ashley on the knee, but she continued to frown. She wouldn’t believe Jon would be voted out until she heard his name announced.
Taylor was more content than he had ever been.
Karen: I’ll go tally the votes.
She went away, and when she returned with the urn, the tension was thick.
Karen: Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave the tribal council area immediately. I’ll read the votes.
She pulled the first parchment out.
Karen: First vote…Jon.
Isaac looked over at Ashley who merely shrugged.
Karen: Second vote…Jon. Third vote…Jon.
The vote seemed to be going their way, but the next vote changed everything. Karen revealed the fourth vote as Missie, and Missie knew what was coming. Jon wasn’t even there to cast a vote.
All of them had lied to her.
Karen: Fifth vote…Missie.
Isaac reached up and rubbed his closed eyes. It had happened again. Even Jake had lied to him.
Karen pulled the sixth vote out of the parchment and revealed it to them.
Karen: Jon.
Missie’s, Jon’s, Ashley’s, and Isaac’s votes were now all accounted for. Missie was fully prepared for the remaining votes.
Beth and Drew both frowned as they watched the outcome unfold before them though it came as no surprise.
Karen: Seventh vote….Missie. That’s four votes Jon, two votes Missie.
Missie reached down and clinched the strap of her bag with her fist, ready to pull it up.
Karen: Eighth vote….Missie.
At that point, Missie stood to her feet. Isaac didn’t even want to look up. Ashley glared absently toward the bonfire. Taylor smiled.
Karen: Ninth vote and the twelfth person to leave All Stars, third jury member…Missie. You need to bring me your torch.
Missie turned quickly and roughly pulled her torch free.
Missie: Thank God! I can’t stand you guys anymore!
She headed angrily toward Karen and set the torch before her. She and Kyle made fleeting eye contact.
Karen: Missie, your tribe has spoken.
The flame was squelched, and Missie watched it smolder for a moment.
Isaac looked up sadly.
Isaac: No…
Missie turned to go, slinging her bag over one shoulder.
Isaac: Bye, Missie, I love you…
Taylor: Bye, Missie.
Christopher: Bye, Missie.
At the sound of Christopher’s voice, Missie turned and shot him daggers.
Missie: f**k you, Chris.
She added a wink and then disappeared into the darkness.
Thus ended the ninth tribal council of the game. Beth and Drew watched silently as the remaining castaways gathered their things and began to head out. The rest of the game seemed very predictable to them.
Isaac snarled as he arose and looked toward Christopher, animosity raging in him. Ashley caught his glance.
Isaac: Chris will be voted out at the next tribal council. I have decided on this day, December 14, 2005, that I will not put up with him controlling this game.
But Ashley only shrugged.
Isaac: All I need is four freakin’ votes! My plan is to get Jake for sure.
He turned and watched Jake leaving the council area. By chance, Jake turned and they made eye contact.
Quickly, Jake deverted his attention and moved out of site.

Missie's Final Words I cannot say how f**king relieved I am to be done with that part of the game. I've honestly never played with a bigger group of spineless, whiney, clueless people in my life. Deny all you want but you petty people have pretty much had a huge sense of entitlement since day one and could not believe that any of your "untouchables" would be touched. Boof**kingHoo. You've made Karen feel like shit by it, you've made others feel like shit by it and you've even carried it into your so-called real life friendships too. That's pitiful. There are no friends in Survivor, assholes. If you want to play a game and keep your friends I suggest go-fish or old maid. Do I feel outwitted? Hell no. You out lasted me, but most of you should not be proud at how you did it. That's for sure. Words of advice for Jojo.. grow a backbone. It's sad. Seriously either drop the whiney "I have no choice" schtick or quit playing the game. It's rather pathetic. Chris. You have been since day one (and I've said it) the biggest drama queen of them all in the game. Every piece of drama has centered around you. You have kissed peoples asses to their face and horribly bashed them behind their backs. YOU, my friend, are disgusting. I'd sooner vote for Jenne than you. Taylor. I love you but you're a moron. You'll see. I would have followed you like a love sick puppy dog but you thought your buddy Jenne was there for you. :shakes head I do kinda hope you and Isaac go all the way still. Isaac. I love you kiddo. You have been the ONLY person I trusted in this game. We had no chance. Never had a chance at all. We knew it but we played along. I hope you run through these creeps one by one. Jake. What the f**k ever. Lis. You are a sweetheart. I wish we would have talked but again, you never had anything but being pulled around by Chris and whomever else so it was sad cus you put about a quarter of the effort as everyone else did but you are still there. Jon. You got a raw deal at first, and your non participation kinda sucked too. Good luck. Ash. Tough time for you and you are trying to stick it out. Good luck kiddo. I hope you and Isaac kick some ass. None of you f**kers will OWN YOUR EVIL. And you are evil. Nothing wrong with that but you are. I am honestly sick at the thought of having to cast a vote for CHris, Jojo, Jake or Lis right now. Nothing can change that. Its quite vile the way you've all acted and the way that some others that have been voted out have acted. Once again its that sense of entitlement you all think you have. It's quite vile. You all owe Karen an apology for making a mockery out of her game. anyhoo, I'm outtie. Smooches, Missie
