Survivor Holidays: All Stars Episode VI “Guilt By Association”
Saint Patrick’s Day: Christopher, JoJo
Independence Day: Missie
Halloween: Ashley, Drew, Isaac, Jake, Jon
Valentine’s Day: Beth, Elisabeth, Jenne, Kyle, Taylor No one left tribal council that evening perfectly at ease, though many were excited that Ryan was now gone. The uprising to vote out Elisabeth in lieu of Ryan had held a lot more clout than expected. Who was to say it wouldn’t gain strength in the coming days? On the same token, those that had joined the side in saving Ryan were now feeling a bit vulnerable. Isaac Miller, for one, still wanted to hang his hat with Missie and Kyle, but keeping in the good graces of Christopher and Jenne was still crucial in his mind. He and Kyle and Missie had had a brief comforting of sorts immediately following the council, and Isaac volunteered himself to play up to Christopher and Jenne for a bit of information—and ulteriorly to keep himself on their good sides. Isaac: Jenne, hello. Jenne turned as Isaac fell into stride with her along the beach. At that point she was nearly certain of the five names who had voted for Elisabeth, Isaac being one of them. Jenne: Hey, Isaac. Last minute uprising to get Lis out again, yeah? He nodded slowly. Isaac: Yes. What do you think about that? Jenne: I think it’s fine that they wanted to do that, but they were lying and saying people were voting for Lis who weren’t to help sway the votes. I think that is sorta underhanded. Isaac: Who is who? Jenne smiled at him. Jenne: I don’t want to get into the naming business. That’s what started all this in the first place. I just know that Ryan told people that I was the one who told him Chris was spreading rumors. None of which was true. So, I know that they a lie about anyone at any time, and no one is safe. Isaac: I don’t know what to believe. Jenne eyed him for a moment, knowing his game. He had been fully in the know of the uprising against Lis. Still, she played along. Jenne: None of us do. Isaac: I know there is a huge alliance out there. Jenne snickered at that. Jenne: Crap has flying back and forth so much that nobody knows what to believe anymore. Isaac: I’m just confused right now. This game is getting out of hand. Jenne threw a sidelong glance at him as he seemingly stressed himself over the situation. Jenne: I can tell you what Kyle told me Ryan said was that huge alliance. It sounded sort of stupid to me—Ryan’s conspiracy theories. He thought there was some big, huge alliance of season one folks and Lizzie and Taylor. How is an alliance of four big and huge when Ryan himself was in an alliance of equal proportions? Isaac: That’s true. Jenne: Seemed like he was trying to point attention off his group more than anything. Isaac: Who the heck was his group? Jenne snorted incredulously. Isaac was playing hard at the moment, and she loved it. Jenne: Wasn’t it obvious? There were four votes for Lizzie at Rami’s tribal council. I had my suspicions of their group before that, but the tribal council cemented it for me: Jon, Kyle, Rami, and Ryan. Jon is Kyle’s bitch—he admitted that to me straight out, and Ryan went crazy saving Rami. Isaac: So you think they all voted Lizzie last time? I seriously had no idea of this. Jenne: Just my assumptions. I stopped talking to Kyle the past couple of days, but he told me Missie wanted me gone then proceeded to bash her to me saying he wanted her gone. Now with all this, I’m starting to question whether Missie even said that. Kyle was just making it up to turn me against her. During the Family Feud he said if his side lost he wanted her gone, and now I’ve been told that Missie and Kyle are like best friends. Isaac: Where did you get that from? Jenne shrugged. Jenne: It’s been circulating they are tight. Isaac: Ok, I haven’t heard. What the heck! Jenne: So that’s why I was confused. First Kyle tells me Missie wants me gone, then says he wants her gone, then I find out they are tight, and my head is spinning. Maybe he just made it all up to keep us from being friends. Heck, he probably told Missie that I wanted her gone for all I know! Isaac: So I’m guessing you want to take Kyle out as soon as possible? Jenne: I’m not going after him personally. We were really good friends, and the Tenzil boot was a mess for us and has caused this divide. But I care about him. I just don’t trust him in this game at this point. They walked on in silence for a bit until Jenne looked over at him. Jenne: Did you vote for Ryan or Lis? Isaac: I voted for Lis. No point in trying to avoid it. Jenne: Oh, wow! They swayed you, eh? Isaac frowned. Isaac: Yeah. Jenne: No, I appreciate you being straight with me. They are good, I’ll give them that. Isaac: I just don’t feel like she deserves to be here. Jenne: What got you? Isaac: Well, Chris and Ryan’s fight. I just don’t believe it all, but I’m massively confused, especially after talking to you tonight. I feel like I could’ve made the wrong decision. Jenne: I wouldn’t worry about it. I understand your feelings on Lis. Isaac: I already had my vote for Ryan and changed it right before. I thought the majority had switched too. Jenne: Like I said, they were lying to folks about that. Smart move, though. Gotta respect their game play. They are talented. Isaac: I was talking to JoJo and she said she was voting for Lis. I don’t think she did. Jenne looked at him quickly. That was a shock. Jenne: Huh. Isaac: She was being irrational though, so I don’t think she actually meant it. They probably had her too…she just didn’t fall for it like me. I feel like I betrayed you. He looked woefully at Jenne, and she patted his shoulder. Jenne: Things change, Isaac. I’m not gonna think less of you because of this. Seriously, you don’t owe me anything. You vote how you want to vote. My panties don’t twist up over stuff like this. Isaac: I am just at such a loss now after talking to you tonight. Jenne, can I ask you for your trust for the next few votes? I am absolutely paranoid now. Jenne: You don’t have to worry about me coming after you at all. I think you deserve to be here. But I don’t hold any power, so not sure what that can do for you. Isaac: I just want to make sure we’re on right terms, but you have told me that so I am done now. Jenne looked at him and smiled, ruffling his hair. Jenne: You are cute, babe. You got duped. No one will fault you for that because they are great salesmen. I don’t know…it’s a game. Can’t dwell on stuff. Have to move on and look forward. Isaac: Well, I’m gonna go. Been a crazy night but glad I talked to you, though. Jenne: For real! Sweet dreams, Isaac! She watched as he trotted off ahead of her, relaying information to Missie or Kyle or any of the enemies, no doubt. Jenne was no fool. Just as quickly, Isaac was in front of Christopher with the same concerns. Isaac: I voted for Lis, ‘cause I was fooled, and I feel like an idiot now. Christopher: Woah! I didn’t expect that. Isaac: I was convinced to vote for her because it was the new majority. I guess I was wrong. Christopher: How did you get convinced of that? Isaac: I was told that the votes were for Lis, people were switching, and I believed it like a fool. Christopher: And Ryan told you that? Isaac nodded. Christopher: Why would you believe that? You’re smart. Shrugging, Isaac looked up at Christopher hopefully. Isaac: I just figured I should let you know I voted Lis since I had said I would be voting Ryan. Christopher: No, I appreciate it. Better honestly than finding out later, but it doesn’t make me super happy. A vote in favor of Ryan is pretty much a vote against me. Isaac: Well, I don’t know who to believe, there were so many rumors and accusations going around. I don’t trust anyone. Christopher laughed. Christopher: I hear that. Isaac: Well, that’s all I have to say about that. Christopher: Thank you. I do appreciate it. And once again, Isaac went on his way. Christopher watched him with a smile. Beth Sowles caught up with Kyle Adams on his way back to the aisle, ready to make known her feelings on the current situation. The one thing she had asked of him was to leave her name out of the plot to get rid of Elisabeth and save Ryan. Beth: You used my name. Kyle whirled around to find her quickly approaching him with none too pleasant an expression on her face. Kyle: What? Beth: You used my name with the Lis vote. Kyle: I didn’t use your name…someone figured it out. As soon as it was out of his mouth, Kyle knew it wouldn’t fly. Beth jammed her hands at her hips and glowered at him, and he sighed. Kyle: What happened? Beth: I voted Ryan. There were not enough Lis votes, and people are all mad at me. Kyle: How were there not enough Lis votes? It was all set. Beth: No way Drew votes Lis! Kyle: We didn’t need Drew! Beth: I had like three people telling me that you were guaranteeing my vote for Lis! Kyle: Me, you, JoJo, Missie, Ryan, Jon, Isaac is all we needed! What gives? Beth huffed and crossed her arms. Beth: You didn’t have Jon, and you didn’t have JoJo. Kyle nodded in disappointment. Kyle: JoJo went against me. Beth: No, JoJo did not go against YOU. Shrugging, Kyle turned and walked away, but Beth kept up the pace. Kyle: I tried my best. Beth: What did you say to people about the vote? I’m not attacking nor am I accusing. Kyle stopped and whirled around. Kyle: I told people we had to shift the game. The first thing people were saying was that they wouldn’t vote Lis unless you were. I had to. It’s good to know I have eight people who will come after me now. Beth: Well, you can join the club! There is at least that many on my butt! Kyle: But you are a part of “them” and will always be! I will not! Beth: That is not fair, and I think you know that! Kyle: I’m glad that Jenne gets to throw her tantrums until she gets her way every time! They stopped in front of Kyle’s hut. Beth could feel tears welling up in her eyes. Beth: Are you trying to deliberately hurt me? Kyle: No. Beth: Well congrats! You succeeded without even trying, then. Kyle: I’m the one that will be out next, Beth! Not you! Beth: Bull shit! No one trusts me! Neither side! No matter what I did tonight, I am screwed. The one thing I asked was to keep my name out of it! Kyle: I couldn’t get the votes without it. Beth: So you can now hate me, too. Kyle: I told you I don’t play that way. Beth sighed and slapped her arms down at her sides. Beth: Now I have to tell Missie. In a way, I hope I am next. She turned to go without further word and disappeared into her hut for the night. Kyle was more frustrated than he had been the whole game, though it was becoming clear that Beth was not willing to work with him no matter what she said. In his mind, everything he had tried to do as far as strategy had been squelched by Beth’s own hand. At that point, he was seriously considering cutting the ties. But it would have to be down the line. He turned to make his way to his hut when Jon came flying from the opposite end of the aisle waving a note in his hand. Kyle turned quickly as Jon trotted breathlessly up to him. Jon: Just wanted you to know that I got your note just now. Kyle eyed him. Kyle: So, you’re not against me? Jon: I’m definitely with you. I just didn’t come back to my hut before tribal council, so I didn’t see your note. Ryan had talked to me earlier about voting Lis but I was a bit unsure of what he was trying to do. I would’ve joined along had I read the note in time. Kyle: Well, just in case you are covering your tracks, you do know the very people you voted with are the very people who wanted you out when Tenzil left, right? Jon nodded vigorously. Jon: That’s what sucks about when I read your note. It comfirmed to me that what Ryan was saying was right. Believe me, I would’ve done what you and Ryan asked. Kyle nodded slowly. He somehow believed Jon. The urgency on his face said as much, and he had no reason to believe Jon would have been swayed by the very people who wanted him out. Kyle: I believe you. Jon: Was that really our last shot? Kyle: We were so close. Jon: This next vote and every one after that I will be around more and check regularly. Kyle: Yeah, we need to communicate more closely. Jon: Before you go…just let me say this…I don’t think I’ll get you to totally believe me about this note incident soon. You don’t owe me anything, and I have some making up to do. But I will be around so we can be on the same page. Kyle: Honestly, it’s hard for me to trust anyone because my game and my reputation was ruined when Tenzil left the building and for no other reason but one person saw things weren’t going her way, so chew on that for a while. I don’t distrust you, Jon. If we can communicate regularly it will be better. Jon: I’ll do my best to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Kyle: Thanks, Jon. Jon: Thank you. Kyle watched Jon go, not knowing what to think. Beth had just told him she had already known Jon wasn’t in for the vote. How would she have known? Shaking his head he went inside his hut, and no sooner had he closed his door than Isaac came pounding. Kyle jerked the door open, saw the urgency in Isaac’s face, looked around quickly, and pulled him inside. Isaac: I’ve done some work tonight. I really see our only option for the moment is for me to infiltrate the enemy, because they are obviously not going to let you do anything based on what Jenne said to me about you tonight. Kyle: You talked to Jenne? Isaac: Don’t worry, I didn’t reveal anything about you and Missie, but Jenne made a comment to me that you two are very close. They have no idea that I’m with you guys, though. Here is the deal. They were going to find out I voted for Lis eventually because JoJo, Ashley, and Beth all knew…so I told Chris and Jenne tonight. But I acted like I was fooled into voting for her, and they bought it. Jenne said she could trust me now and that she would look out for me. Kyle started to protest, but Isaac held his hand up and pressed on. Isaac: I talk to her more and more about voting inactives. She is already biting. She’s agreed with me about inactives. I know things seem a bit far-fetched with this, but please trust me, Kyle. I am not going to backstab you; I’m just going on my judgment. I’m sorry if you don’t agree, but I thought I would let you know what I was doing. Kyle sighed and shook his head. Kyle: I don’t think you are trying to backstab me, Isaac, but you just sealed my death warrant. You don’t know Jenne like I do. Regardless of what she tells you about voting inactives, she will not do it. Jenne is not interested in trust from pions like she thinks you are. She’s only interested in herself and her long-time friends. I’ve been there before. She will agree to your face and make you feel like the only person in the world before she cuts your throat. He dropped his shoulders as Isaac, took this all in. Kyle could see the skepticism on his face. Kyle: If I’m not immune, there’s no way I will make it past the next tribal council. Isaac: Well, then you will just have to win immunity. At least if I do not win and you do, Jenne may still keep me around, which helps you out since you have my vote. Kyle deadpanned. It was nothing encouraging for an ally to agree he needed immunity to stay. Isaac: I know you feel so certain that Jenne will not crack, but it is better trying than doing nothing even though it will probably make no difference.

That left Kyle no hope at all. He went straight to bed that night with so many things whirling around in his head. Nothing looked good at the moment, but he was not going to give up.
But Kyle wasn’t the only one who went to bed that night disgruntled, upset, or nervous about miscommunications that seemed to have been flooding the game thus far. Jon Kennedy turned in that evening concerned about the trust he felt he had lost from Kyle. He had thought Ryan had been trying to play him. He hadn’t returned to his hut before tribal council to find Kyle’s note informing him of the changed plans. He thought back to when Ryan had confronted him earlier that day.
Ryan: I don’t know what you’ve heard about me and alliances, but the one with you and Drew is my only alliance. Just thought you should know that.
Jon: Ok. What was that huge fight with Chris yesterday?
Ryan: I was just telling my side of the story so that all the lies going around aren’t the only thing that everyone hears. If I could find the numbers would you keep me here?
Jon remembered how skeptical he had been and now wished he could go back.
Jon: Who’s the other target?
Ryan: Lis again. Could you vote her if the numbers were there? I have five already, and I still need to talk to Drew. Hopefully he invested as much into our alliance as I did.
Jon: Who’s on board?
Ryan: Me.
Jon: Oh, I didn’t know you were five people…
If Ryan could have listed a few other names, then just maybe Jon would’ve trusted him. The fate of the whole council had ridden on the one note he failed to receive beforehand. The note could’ve changed everything.
Laying in bed, he unfolded the note once again and read it over.
It was all so disappointing, and he hoped it wasn’t a missed opportunity. Kyle had seemed confident that it wasn’t their last opportunity to save themselves. He hoped above hope that would be the case. His own name coming up in a past tribal council already wasn’t comforting.
Still others went to bed not caring whether their votes had gone through or not. Despite all the things said about her and questions thrown her way at tribal council, Ashley Miller was quite proud to still be standing strong. From here, she was determined to fight even harder.
Day 16
Christopher: We are finally rid of the pest!
Christopher had met his best, real-world friend for breakfast the next morning, reveling in yet another tribal council victory. It was safe for them to assume they had had a firm hand in dictating every person that had left the game so far, and now both of them were ecstatic that their number one enemy was gone.
Jenne: Nine to five…Ryan gone!
Christopher: Thank God! But someone flipped.
Jenne frowned and nodded.
Jenne: Ryan, Kyle, Jon, Isaac and one more.
Christopher: I’m gonna guess Missie. If Isaac did it, so did she.
Jenne: They convinced him that the majority changed, and Missie loves her Kyle.
Christopher: And Ryan went one earlier than he did in Valentine’s Day!
Christopher laughed proudly and Jenne couldn’t help but to chime in.
Jenne: He always goes after Rami. It’s a Survivor Holidays tradition.
So while Jenne and Christopher were triumphing, JoJo Treadwell awakened with the same burning thoughts she had been having for days now. Ryan was now gone, and Elisabeth had been saved for a second time in a row, and she was proud that she had firmly stood by her Christopher—which was how it should be her entire stay in the game. But where would they go from here? Too many things had pointed back to Jenne, too many shady things, and JoJo wanted to understand the whole truth before she went pressing along blindly, picking off innocent people. She had even told Jake of her concerns the day before.
JoJo: I think Jenne set Ryan up. First Kyle, then Ryan.
Jake wasn’t an easy bite on the idea at first. He had merely looked at her, cocking his eyebrows.
Jake: Ok…
JoJo: Beth told me that Jenne made something up and went to Chris with it so Chris would go off. And…well, Chris did.
Jake had sighed.
Jake: Oh, man.
JoJo: I love my people, you know I do. But if innocent people are getting booted, I feel a tad ill.
Jake: Does Chris know this?
JoJo: No! It’s his best friend, Jakey.
They had looked at each other for a moment, both with question in their eyes.
JoJo: Help, help, help!
Jake: JoJo, Kyle is far from innocent.
JoJo: But Beth told me Jenne told her she made up something about him. Yeah…he’s not innocent…but…
Jake: I honestly would vote for Kyle right now if I could. I really hate the way he approaches me…
So nothing had been resolved about the situation, and they had confirmed with each other to stay loyal and vote with Chris, eliminating Ryan and saving Elisabeth.
But JoJo was just so unsure, and now she knew Kyle would be upset with her.
Her first caller that morning was Beth, and she let her in immediately.
Beth: Hey, girl. JoJo hugged her immediately before they settled in the den.
Beth: Kyle mad me mad last night.
JoJo: Was Kyle outraged?
Beth: Eh, some. He used my name to gather votes, and I never said I’d vote Lis. He told peeps you were voting Lis, too.
JoJo frowned.
JoJo: Interesting. I feel so much better then for NOT!
Beth: Same here. I told him I was not happy because potentially, I could be in a position where no one trusts me!
JoJo: Kyle is working so hard in this game—too hard maybe. I know he’s not gonna be pleased with me. But I know what I will say. He can remember his discussion with me when I asked if he was sure about Beth. That really was the condition for me.
Beth: He said to me that he was glad to know that Jenne whined enough until she got her way, and he knew that Drew would never vote for Lis.
She looked down and shook her head thoughtfully.
Beth: Though, I’m wondering why five did vote for Lis. Which five?
JoJo: Jon, Isaac, Ryan, Kyle, and Missie. Missie told me that the three of us should work together as the old ladies.
Beth laughed.
Beth: She told me about that.
JoJo: Does she think I’m full of crap? I apologized sincerely for not voting Lis and told her I could see how it would look as though I was playing her.
Beth: No, I apologized to her, too, and I got the impression she was glad you made up your own mind.
JoJo: I was sincere when we spoke about voting Lis, but then couldn’t do it. She plays well. I didn’t get her before this game, but she is quite good.
Beth: I quite agree.
JoJo: Doesn’t change a whole lot for me, but she has my respect.
Beth: Anyway, I’ve told Chris and Jenne how I feel about Lizzie’s game play. I don’t think Chris liked it at first. Doesn’t mean I’m gonna act on it, just saying what I thought.
JoJo: I’m so glad you did.
Beth: Well, it does annoy me. Jenne said last night that Lis can’t even name everyone playing the game. How can she be on jury?
JoJo: Wow. She is a sweet kid, but hasn’t played a whole lot.
Beth: Jenne also admitted last night to pressuring me regarding Kyle and voting him out now. I had said that I was annoyed with Ashley and Lis.
JoJo: There isn’t anything wrong with that.
Beth: I don’t like her pressuring me—or us. We should discuss!
JoJo: I think we need to talk together again.
Beth: Chris told me last night that if I didn’t want to vote Kyle or someone else, to just put it on the table, and we’ll work around it. Everyone will have someone they won’t want to vote for.
She looked at JoJo and narrowed her eyes.
Beth: Jenne didn’t like it. She told me privately that since Taylor won’t vote for Kyle, that I have to. I was like...it would be nice to have some input into decisions!
JoJo shook her head and sighed.
JoJo: Beth, I hate that.
Beth nodded emphatically.
Beth: Jenne talks about Kyle pushing and playing hard…I wanted to give the girl a mirror.
JoJo: We need to clear the air in that regard, and maybe I’m the one who should say it. I’m still the outsider, ya know?
Beth: Balderdash! You is no outsider! Wanna know what I think is funny? Missie and Kyle see me as the outsider of the infamous S-C group.
JoJo smiled sweetly at her.
JoJo: You really are golden to so many. I dig that about you.
And JoJo did adore Beth, but she was anxious to reconnect with Christopher after the whirlwind that was the night before.
Christopher: Looks like Kyle didn’t have the numbers he thought, eh?
JoJo: No, sure didn’t. Poor Lizzie. She doesn’t deserve all these random votes.
Christopher rolled his eyes and shook his head.
Christopher: I know, it seems mean. She is a good sport, though. She told me ahead of time that she expected it. I imagine I will get votes from the remaining members when I am not immune since I argued publicly with their de facto leader.
He turned to JoJo quickly. Christopher: Why does Chris always get pulled into the drama, Mama!
She laughed and reached out to hug him.
JoJo: ‘Cause you are cute, you are good, and everyone wants to be next to you, and when the aren’t they have a tantrum. I liked that Ryan went out fighting. He tried to to drum up some business, and I personally like that jazz.
Christopher: It’d be nice if every season they didn’t focus on me. Shaun…Tuck, now Ryan.
JoJo: Their focus is on others, hun. The season four people are more targeted from what I hear.
Christopher: Kyle’s group had a fifth vote. Isaac fessed up to one, and he says Ashley was another.
JoJo: Missie and Jon would be my guess, though I’m not sure about Jon. Isaac told me he was voting Lis because I said I was.
Christopher tilted his head back and laughed.
Christopher: Mama! Nobody will target you though. They never seem to pick fights with you or Beth. People respect you, and I think they want to work with you.
JoJo: I could care less. It’s funny…very, very few people have asked me to.
Shaking his head Christopher smiled and put his hands on JoJo’s cheeks.
Christopher: You will win this game…mark my words.
JoJo: Please!
Christopher: I am serious! Write down the date and time I said it. You will win.
JoJo: Stop, you goofball. I just wanna be with you. And your very words are the reason no one will take me.
Christopher: Everyone likes you, and you won’t have to betray many. You won’t get blamed for being in some alliance like me or Jenne or Beth. People will feel you made it on your own.
JoJo shrugged.
JoJo: Well, I got pulled into that alliance with Jenne and Drew.
Christopher: But there is prejudice against the season four folks, and somehow I have been lumped in with that.
He looked down thoughtfully, not knowing how that could possibly be.
Christopher: Anyway, I would love to see you win.
JoJo: I say you and I back off and let season four people duke it out.
Christopher nodded quickly.
Christopher: I agree. I’m not going to fight with Kyle unless he starts up with me.
JoJo: Me either, although he will be sad he couldn’t convince me last night.
Christopher: He worked you hard, eh?
JoJo: He did. Ryan didn’t—which is funny.
Smirking, Christopher scoffed.
Christopher: Jory…now there is only Jo…no JoRy!
JoJo smiled even though she had thought Ryan’s little nickname for them had been cute. But whether Christopher thought she was going to win the game or not, that was beside the point and completely too far down the road to even be considering. She was concerned about Jenne and sooner or later she was going to need to broach the subject.
JoJo: Missie said last night that we are toast because Jenne has alliances with everyone. She was especially adamant about that Jenne and Taylor made up a story about not working together—which I have to admit, made some sense. Taylor was stuck up Missie’s ass at the beginning of the game and is now voting elsewhere. That was interesting.
Chrstopher waved it off as inconsequential.
Christopher: Taylor isn’t so smooth. Jenne and Taylor aren’t aligned, but Jenne is talking to him again because she knows we need him—or did need him those two rounds. But tell me more…
JoJo shrugged as she rattled off all that was on her mind.
JoJo: Of course the more suspicious ones say….aha! There is Beth, Taylor, Jenne, and Lizzie, still here from season four. Maybe Kyle is full of crap saying that Taylor and Jenne are fighting or he and Jenne are fighting. I mean, it’s in every game…we are fighting, when it really means we are aligned. Who knows? I’m free associating here.
Christopher crossed his arms as JoJo went on.
JoJo: But yeah Missie felt that Lizzie should go to give control to others. She says Jenne dislikes women who flirt with her boys…
JoJo paused and looked at Christopher as he absorbed every last morsel.
JoJo: Now, now my JC. You know I tell you every friggin’ thing. Missie is not my favorite person, but don’t go running to Jenne with this.
Christopher: Oh, no. I won’t.
JoJo: Just telling you the word on the street, because that’s what Mama does.
Christopher: Jenne blew it with me. I dig her, but I couldn’t believe when she showed that note to Ryan.
JoJo: I love Jenne, I mean get real! Who doesn’t? I’m just trying to understand all this.
Christopher: Do you think that Kyle knows Jenne showed Ryan that note, by the way?
JoJo: He didn’t say anything to me. What he did say was that you drew attention to yourself by fighting with Ryan in front of everyone.
Again, Christopher waved it off.
Christopher: I don’t care. I think we’ve successfully taken over the game—the four of us. We should be final five bound unless something odd happens.
He paused and looked at her fondly.
Christopher: I want you to win.
JoJo: Chris…honey, it’s not a big deal. I want you with me.
Christopher: I just want you to know I’m throwing final three. If you take Jenne or Beth or Jake if he ends up there, it’s cool with me. I just want you to know that.
JoJo placed her hands on her hips and attempted to glower at him.
JoJo: Chris, I don’t want you to do that.
Christopher: Don’t go martyr on me, Mama. Anyway, the goal is to get us to the final four. At that point I got no problem voting Beth out. She lied to us twice now. When I have to pick and choose, that makes it easier for me. Jenne will be the problem for me, so final three will really be between the two of you.
JoJo: I couldn’t love you more, and I still want you at the end, too.
Christopher: You deserve it more. I think you are the best player.
JoJo: Well, maybe they do deserve it as much.
Christopher shook his head vigorously.
Christopher: I disagree. Season four was too easy for them. Season one…we all PLAYED. Not only did we not cheat on challenges, like Missie and the season four folks, but we all WORKED to get to the final five.
JoJo nodded.
JoJo: Right. They had it all wrapped up from the first second, and we were busting our ass.
Christopher: Remember it could take a day or two to win immuninity? None of this stealing from website stuff. So yeah, we worked hard to be in this season. I just don’t feel like they did. I love them, but no.
JoJo: You are my rock in this game. If I didn’t have you, last night could’ve been different for me.
Christopher: If I didn’t have Jenne, I’d have considered turning. Not voting Lizzie, but turning.
JoJo: I do feel like a fifth wheel overall, so the offers made sense to me. But it came down to you.
Christopher: If you want to turn, you can! I will so not hold it against you!
JoJo: Hell, no I’m not turning against Chris!
Christopher shrugged.
Christopher: If you guys had gotten rid of Jenne or Beth, I would’ve killed you, then thanked you.

They both laughed at that, then they looked at each other for a moment. JoJo’s main concern had been Jenne, and there they had gone on a rabbit trail once again. She wondered if she should bring it up again. Then she remembered she could discuss anything with him.
JoJo: The past few days, Beth has implied that she isn’t pleased with Jenne. I mean, she had Kyle believing she would vote Lis, too. Of course, she didn’t.
Christopher rolled his eyes.
Christopher: Beth implies a lot of things but she never acts on them. And somehow people don’t get pissed at her about it. I will never figure it out.
JoJo: She told me that Jenne was setting us up, but that she loved us. Told me that Jenne was playing just like she accuses Kyle.
Christopher shrugged.
Christopher: Beth plays to be everyone’s friend, and that makes the others in her alliance the bad guy. She “listens” then almost turns, so they can’t be too mad at her. Then the people blame someone like me for “forcing” her to stay in the axis of evil. Honestly, if Kyle or Missie or somebody turned Beth or Jenne out, our end game could be a lot more fluid…like we could bounce around.
He grinned impishly at JoJo who seemed a lot more concerned than he.
Christopher: It’d be more fun, but I guess we are pretty guaranteed final four, so we shouldn’t eff that up.
JoJo: There is still so much game going on, though.
Christopher: I kind of hate being hitched to them even though it has been good for us gamewise. I would so much rather final four be you, me, Jake, and Lizzie.
That was something JoJo loved hearing, and hearing it from Christopher’s mouth made it sound so much more delicious.
JoJo: Ummmm, so would I!
Christopher: I know, but we feel a bit trapped. I’d love to flip flop more.
Everything grew silent as they stared at each other. It sounded so good, but it was so risky. JoJo found that her heart was pounding at the thought.
JoJo: Let’s just see how things progress. I still maintain that surprises happen.
Christopher: They do.
But Christopher couldn’t stop smiling.
Christopher: I love you.
JoJo: Love you, too, babe. It is still early. Anything can happen…
They hugged and parted ways for the morning, but that left JoJo with even more to think about. Would Christopher really flip and take her with him? This was actually good news as it would take all of her fears about being the proverbial fifth wheel of this huge alliance of buddies. It also looked better for Jake Erickson who JoJo adored more than life itself.
The morning passed pretty slowly. People were quiet except for within their own circles. It seemed that the division had finally solidified. There was now two sides in the game with a couple of seemingly ambiguously sided older females that gave hope for either side. It was still anyone’s game.
Once again came the noon hour as did the tri-daily tree-mail reading on the beach. All hurried anxiously for the revelation of the upcoming immunity challenge.
Kyle fell into stride with Isaac as they made their way to the beach. Kyle couldn’t say that Isaac had left him extremely hopeful the night before after going to Jenne and Christopher about his vote, but Kyle needed Isaac as much as he thought Isaac needed him.
Kyle: I hope you don’t think I was jumping on you last night.
Isaac shook his head.
Isaac: I don’t. I am just really at a loss right now.
Kyle: Something more happen?
Isaac: No. I just feel like everything I am doing could be the wrong thing.
Kyle patted him on the shoulder.
Kyle: Don’t worry, Isaac, you are fine. Listen…Jon said he didn’t get my note until way late and that he is definitely with us.
Isaac looked at him and breathed a sigh of relief.
Isaac: Good.
Kyle: Maybe we can spin a Lis vote again.
Isaac: Now we just need to have JoJo and Beth, and I am focusing on immunity.
Kyle: Me, too!
And now the game was down to thirteen individuals from the premier twenty that started just fifteen days before. They all gathered at the beach with Karen at the center of their focus. Many eyes studied the others. JoJo and Christopher eyed Kyle, in particular. Kyle had left JoJo alone since the night before, and Christopher since three days before. They wondered what was going through his head why he could possibly be so quiet.
Karen: If laughter is the best medicine, then healthy we shall be. You must have a sense of humor to win immunity.
A groan went up around the group as many guessed the challenge would be the Caption a Random Picture challenge. Others who thought they had better wit breathed a bit more easily.
Taylor shook his head and slumped his shoulders. His immunity run had not been the most encouraging in the game, and he wasn’t at all confident with this particular challenge either. Kyle noticed him and approached him as others began dispersing.
Kyle: I want us to be ok.
Taylor: Me too.
Kyle: I’m sorry I’ve been so defensive with you lately.
Taylor shrugged.
Taylor: I’m sorry I’ve jumped down your throat.
Kyle: You have to realize, I caught flack for something you initially got started, Jenne threw a tantrum, and then when you came jumping on me with all the stuff she was feeding you, it grated on me.
Taylor: I know, I know.
Kyle glanced over at Jenne as she left the group, heading for the huts.
Kyle: She is being a sneaky one, too. She was all over Ryan, sewing seeds of doubt to him about me. And Chris lied to me too…or was believing someone else. And that “someone else” is really getting on my nerves.
Taylor: Who’s the someone else?
Kyle: Who do you think?
Taylor nodded and sighed.
Taylor: Jenne.
Kyle: We need to get this stuff together. So, tell me where you stand with these people, Taylor. You don’t want to be with them, but you don’t want to vote them off, right? I don’t want to target them, but if they are going to throw hissies ‘cause Tenzil is gone and Jenne is in “danger” are we just going to let them?
Taylor: I honestly don’t know what to do. Honestly.
Kyle: Well, I’ve learned in this game that Jenne is one big double-standard.
Taylor: Yeah.
Kyle: She gets away with it because people let her, and I’m in the mess I’m in now because I will stand up to her and befriend “dreaded” people like Ryan.
Taylor: The thing I don’t like is that Ryan lied to me. He lied about things that you told me were true.
Kyle: Chris lied to me. Told me that Ryan told him to his face that I was the one that targeted Chris. And Ryan said he left my name out of it.
Taylor: Of course Ryan was just lying about that.
Kyle shook his head.
Kyle: I don’t think he plays that way. He didn’t in Valentine’s Day. You were in it, you saw the same show as I did. Ryan was smeared by Tenzil, Jenne, and company and you know it.
Taylor: I know, but Ryan has lied to my face.
Kyle: Who hasn’t in this game? I mean, really?
Taylor nodded slowly.
Taylor: True.
Kyle: So pretty much, Jenne’s against me, and now I’ve lost Chris. Who else is chomping at the bits? Those people you listed to me that were angry with me. Those weren’t all true, and I’m wondering if Jenne fed you those names.
Taylor shrugged.
Taylor: That’s who I’ve been told—
Kyle: Exacly! Who you’ve been “told.” By who?
Taylor: They’ve said that themselves.
Kyle: You said Jake, JoJo, Chris, Jenne all think I’m on an overscheming warpath.
Taylor: They’ve said that…themselves.
Kyle: To you personally?
Taylor huffed, growing frustrated with Kyle once again. This was where they had gotten off on the wrong foot together in the first place.
Taylor: Kyle, please don’t question these people.
Kyle: You went around to every single one of them and had a discussion about me?
Taylor: Not specifically about you. I know JoJo mentioned to me that she thought you were overplotting. Jake is just rumors.
Kyle: I just don’t get it. Tenzil is out, Jenne throws a fit, and now I’m overplotting.
Taylor: Who knows…
Kyle jabbed a finger in his direction.
Kyle: And that is where I get frustrated. To everyone it’s just shrug and let it be. Taylor: What can I do?
Kyle: Stand up to what you know is going on. That’s what you can do. You know as well as I do that all this happened because Tenzil got voted out and one person got mad.
Taylor: I know this.
Kyle: So you don’t know what to do or tell me.
Taylor: I’ve talked to Jenne.
Kyle: And?
Taylor: You can’t move her, and you know that.
Kyle: Move her from what?
Taylor: To stop targeting you. I can’t sway her.
Kyle: But you won’t stand up to her.
Taylor turned on him quickly, his face turning red.
Taylor: Don’t you understand where I’m at?
Kyle: I do.
Taylor: I can’t stand up to Jenne like I can’t stand up to you! You are both my friends!
Kyle: And this is a game! I’ve said it a hundred times, there is no death after tribal council!
Taylor: It is a game—
Kyle: And there is no million at the end—
Taylor: But there is strained friendships.
They paused and looked at each other quietly for a long moment.
Taylor: I don’t think you understand. It’s a game, yes. But voting one of you off would be like saying that you suck as a friend.
Kyle: If you have to vote me off to alleviate stress, then by all means do it. You know I don’t hold anything like that against people.
Taylor: Don’t be that way.
Kyle: You won’t turn against Jenne and she won’t budge voting me and because she doesn’t get her way, my name is smeared.
Taylor: Kyle it’s not because you targeted Tenzil. Hell, Chris and I targeted Tenzil. It’s because you tried to get her out—at least she thinks you did.
Kyle covered his face for a moment.
Kyle: I did not! Now…yes! But then…no! That’s the thing!
Taylor: She thinks you did.
Kyle: She got mad because we got into a fight.
Taylor: That’s the problem.
Kyle: She told me herself it scared her that I was willing to dump Tenzil so soon, that I would do it to her. She came up with that on her own. And now, because of that, I’m overplaying. Because she decided I was.
Taylor: I can’t tell you anything. That’s all I know.
Kyle: So what do you advise me to do?
Taylor: Lay low. Vote with the majority.
Kyle snorted and turned away, disgusted.
Kyle: That is a despicable way to play this game.
Taylor: Not forever. Just for like two or three votes.
Kyle: In two or three votes it will be too late. And Lis will make the jury without even lifting a finger.
Taylor said nothing. It was obvious they were never going to be on the same page. Shaking his head, Kyle walked away. He didn’t want to pressure him anymore, knowing that Taylor was probably already at his wit’s end. Jenne in one ear, Kyle in the other—that was enough to drive anyone to the asylum. Yet Kyle wasn’t going to give up. If he had to drive everyone in the game nuts, he was going to. That’s what they expected, that’s what he would give.
Seven o’clock came quickly. Fourteen hopefuls gathered at the main resort for yet another challenge.
Karen: The name of this challenge is…Funny Bone!
Karen fanned a stack of photographs before her for all to see.
Karen: I have here ten photos. It is your mission to come up with just the right captions. Think creatively! Humor goes a long way in this challenge. For each caption you will be judged on how well the caption fits the picture and how humorously it goes along with it. You will be judged on a scale from zero to five—five being the funniest. You have until tomorrow at noon to turn your captions in. Then a secret panel of judges will have them scored this time tomorrow night.
Karen swept the lobby of the main resort with her left hand, indicating a table with thirteen personalized folders lying on a table.
Karen: These are you pictures. Survivors, ready? Go!
Quickly they snatched up the folders and began to leaf through the photographs. Jenne and Christopher grabbed theirs quickly and headed to the coffee shop to peruse them and brainstorm.
Once seated, Jenne sifted through her folder, smiling all the while.
Jenne: I love being right.
Christopher looked up and cocked his brow.
Christopher: About what?
Jenne: The challenge. Picture captions!
Grunting, Christopher looked back down at the stack of pictures.
Christopher: I don’t even know if we did this one in season one.
Jenne: I did pretty good last time. Hopefully I’m funny enough to get into the top six. No one could be funnier than you or I! How could they?
Christopher: Not me.
Jenne: Please! You’s a funny bitch! You make me laugh always.
Christopher shrugged as held up a picture of two countrified men soaking in the bed of a pick-truck, filled with water. He grunted and held up another of a woman riding a giant penis as in a bucking bronco. That garnered an eyebrow rise.
Christopher: I don’t really function this way. We’ll see.
They continued to study the pictures together quietly, both laughing when they came to a picture of an ambiguously gendered person, resting his head on a pillow, albeit no ordinary pillow. It had been sewn in pink fabric to the likeness of two giant breasts.
Christopher: You know what would be really bad? If Kyle, Jon, Missie, Isaac, Ashley, and Drew all won immunity.
Jenne didn’t look up from the pictures.
Jenne: You said that already.
Christopher looked up quickly.
Christopher: Hey! Shut your piehole! I will say it again! It would be REALLY bad if Kyle, Jon, Missie, Isaac, Ashley, and Drew all won immunity!
Jenne smirked at him.
Christopher: Booger! I’m just afraid. At some point this game will force us to do stuff we don’t want to do. I mean what if the only non-immune were Jenne, JoJo, Beth, Chris, Jake, and Lizzie. Heck, throw Taylor in there…it would be awful!
Shrugging, Jenne didn’t look up from her pictures.
Jenne: It would suck.
Christopher: We would be faced with a fairly ugly dilemma.
Still, Jenne couldn’t care less.
Jenne: Why worry about it?
Christopher laid his pictures down and eyed Jenne for a moment. Did she really not care?
Christopher: Because as their numbers dwindle, it could easily happen in the next three votes.
She shrugged again.
Jenne: It could.
Clasping his hands Christopher set his jaw and watched Jenne closely as she casually sorted through her pictures. When she finally noticed the silence she looked up.
Jenne: What? You want to have a plan? All I’m saying is this…only two go to the end. Everyone goes sooner or later. If someone goes sooner than we wanted, so be it. We will always be up in numbers at this point unless hell breaks loose.
She shrugged and looked back down at her pictures.
Jenne: So we suck it up and vote out someone we like. Part of this game, remember?
More silence. Jenne looked up and sighed.
Jenne: You brought out the ice queen, remember?
Christopher frowned. Christopher: Dayummm. No, I want no plans. I am just dreading it.
Jenne: It’s ok, babe. I’ll hold your hand.
What exactly had gotten into her? Christopher was puzzled. Though he had wanted to bring the player out in Jenne, he had not expected this side. This was a side of Jenne he had no clue existed.
Christopher: I am afraid you will bite it off with those sharp devil teeth.
Jenne snickered aloud and growled.
Jenne: Devil woman! Part of this game is being adaptable. We have numbers to play with. We keep us strong and the others fall where they may. Can’t squeeze eight people into the two seats at the end—we too fat for that.
Christopher: I’m not.
Jenne: No, you ain’t. But times eight, anyone would be.
Christopher nodded slowly, still studying her. She seemed so sure of the end game. Christopher was confident himself, but even he knew that the strange and mysterious could always happen.
Christopher: I suppose.
Jenne spread out the pictures on the table before her so she could see all of them at once.
Jenne: Maybe I’ll just write all new captions.

Christopher hoped she would come up with brand new captions on her own. What had she initially planned? To go find captions elsewhere and pirate them? He shook his head slightly, but the issue stayed fresh on his mind throughout the afternoon. He still held to the fact that those in early seasons of the Holidays series fought harder for immunity. There was none of the easy out, searching the web, and stealing for others. And even for Christopher Collins, All Stars was getting too ugly.
Christopher: I liked season one better when barely anyone knew anyone else. This season is ugly.
Beth looked up at him as she glanced through the captions he had written.
Beth: What happened now?
Christopher: Nothing today. I just don’t see the game getting any prettier.
Beth: I hear ya. I should just be the crazy lady passing out candy.
Christopher snorted.
Christopher: Beeyatch! You need to start fighting with some ho’s!
Beth: I’ll take names and line ‘em up and fight ‘em all!
Christopher: Das right!
Beth: Them peeps will be scared to see me coming!
Christopher: d**n right!
Beth: Ogre Beth moves in!
They laughed out loud together. At the moment, Christopher appreciated the comraderie in Beth Sowles. It was the first time he had actually played a game aligned with her, and he loved it.
Beth: Our question is: do we want to play ugly? Or do we want to make nicey nice?
He shrugged, conflicted.
Christopher: I don’t know.
Beth: Be ogreish to some and nice to others?
Christopher: I just feel like in some ways it has already gone there. Me/Ryan, Jenne/Ryan, Jenne/Kyle.
Beth nodded and looked down. It had been episode after episode of arguments and name-calling and finger-pointing.
Beth: Can I ask you something? Without it going anywhere or anyone being upset?
Christopher: Sure. I will keep it quiet.
Beth: Ok, now I adore our peeps and would not go against us…
Christopher cocked his brow before a smile crept over his lips.
Christopher: I think I will probably agree with you…
Beth looked at him for a moment, hesitant to go on.
Beth: Jenne?
Christopher nodded slowly with a crooked smile and Beth sighed.
Christopher: I have never played a game with her before. What the hell?
Beth: She was not like this in Valentine’s Day.
Christopher: Do you know what she did to me yesterday?
Beth: What? Christopher: She asked me to show her the note Kyle had put under my door, and she showed it to Ryan without even asking me!
Beth gasped and covered her mouth.
Christopher: Yes!
Beth: Why?! Why on earth would she do that? Oh my gosh, Chris.
Christopher: Kyle confided in me, and I, of course, confided in you guys because I thought that we four kept everything confidential. Silly me! She just wanted to rub it in Ryan’s face.
Beth: And Kyle’s.
Christopher: While Kyle and I were already dicey, I feel like she has completely ruined the possibilities I had with him.
Beth: I don’t think Jenne is completely honest with us. I completely respect her playing her own game, but…it’s just ugly now. It didn’t have to be.
Christopher: No, it didn’t. Ryan kept claiming he went after me because of her. I don’t know what to think about that.
Beth: The problem is…I believe Ryan.
Christopher: If it is true…the only ugliness that came after me was because of her then.
Beth: She told me earlier that I had to vote Kyle no matter what you said, and she knew she was pressuring me and bitch-slapping me.
Christopher: She also told me earlier that you were waffling, and I told her that none of us should have to vote someone if we didn’t want to. She didn’t agree…said you needed to. I do not want anyone telling me exactly how to vote.
Beth: Chris, I’m with you on that. I’ve always said people’s votes are theirs. Do you think we should talk to Jenne? Honestly, I don’t know what to do. I’d love her to drop a few notches.
Christopher cocked his brow at her.
Beth: Not in voting out! But tone it down.
Christopher: I don’t know. I just don’t know. I haven’t played with her before—she is high drama. When I came to her with a concern last week, she literally walked out on me. She wasn’t really open to feedback.
Beth nodded and looked down.
Beth: Honestly, I don’t think I can vote out Kyle. Not just because I like him, but because I think Jenne did a number on him.
Christopher: I think they both ran numbers, to be honest. What is weird is that jenne is sort of reminding me of Michelle—that I don’t feel like I fully know what she’s doing. I trust Jenne, I do. And I love her, but what is happening?
Beth: I think we have to be honest with ourselves in what is going on.
Christopher: So for the next vote I imagine we’ll be shooting for Jon, Isaac, or Ashley. As far as Jenne, I think there’s no stopping it. Just earlier I was talking to her and brought up the dilemma of only our group being vulnerable. She didn’t seem to care or think it would be hard. She just clarified to me that everyone has to go and if we have to vote out people we like, so be it.
Beth shook her head.
Beth: It’s like she’s so d**n cocky that other people don’t even matter. Any ideas? If she wasn’t Jenne, I probably wouldn’t hesitate to vote her out, and that makes me sad.
Christopher: I know it. It’s like you make an alliance with someone you never met and midway through the game, they just show their true colors.
Beth: Honesly, and I feel like crap for saying this, but she is acting like a spoiled brat. I’m supposed to be the spoiled one!
Christopher: And I’m supposed to be the bitch!
They laughed at each other for a moment.
Christopher: But she is holy terror, Beth! And you didn’t hear this from me but before all this JoJo very hesitantly brought this same thing up with me. She isn’t happy about certain attitudes.
Beth: JoJo and I have talked a lot about this, and what gets me is, we both love Jenne and would have her back. But she is lying to us and lying to others to get us to cover her back.
Christopher bit his lip thoughtfully.
Christopher: I guess this part hasn’t been covered with me. I didn’t realize there has been actual lying.
Beth: I may be guessing on that part, but it’s a good guess.
Christopher nodded slightly and rubbed his chin.
Christopher: I have a question. I haven’t made this deal with her or anyone, but do you think Jenne feels certain she is destined for final three…and final two.
Beth: Yes. Jenne is positive she is final two.
Christopher: Yes, I would think so. She knows me, and she likely feels strongly that you and JoJo would take her as well.
Beth: I don’t think I would take Jenne.
Christopher: I am glad none of us have made promises. But I’m not trying to change anything, it was just in my head earlier. Like, wow, she must feel pretty much a lock. I’m glad we broached it.
Beth: I’m glad too. It was in my head, and if I’m thinking it, others have to be too.
Christopher studied her for a moment and frowned. Where had this monster come from? It was something that needed to be addressed and toned down immediately.
Beth went straight to JoJo for another discussion before Jenne knocked on the door. Beth and JoJo shushed each other quickly before JoJo opened the door and let her in. Jenne came in proudly bearing her pictures and captions. They spent a good amount of time laughing and sharing captions until Beth brought up the vote—to Jenne nonetheless. She was very curious of Jenne’s pick should the scenario go as Chritopher had suggested.
Beth: So, Jenne, my love. Who are we voting out if immunity goes whacko and stuff?
Jenne looked up from her pictures and shrugged.
Jenne: Why are you asking me?
JoJo and Beth exchanged glances.
Beth: Well…to see what you think.
Jenne: I thought Chris made all the decisions about who goes.
At that, the two older ladies looked at each other full on. Jenne crossed her arms and stared at them. JoJo laughed out loud awkwardly.
Beth: Huh? I guess I’m confuzzled
JoJo: I thought it was me making all the decisions.
Jenne: You know how I feel already.
Silence fell upon them immediately.
JoJo: Still Kyle?
Jenne shrugged and went back to her pictures.
Beth: But I’m worried about immunity, and we’ll only have a small amount of time to decide.
Jenne: We have time.
JoJo: Ok.
They all were quiet again, and Beth and JoJo looked at one another. Only now a trace of indignance crossed JoJo’s face. Beth was awkward in this newfound tension between them.
Beth: So…in other news.
Jenne looked up quickly.
Jenne: As far as I know Kyle, Jon, Isaac, Ashley were the last four boots before jury. Or Missie. So, I don’ t know. I doubt all five of them will be immune.
Beth: That’s true Jenne-girl.
Jenne: Chris was all worried that they ALL would be immune. I was like, chill dude! No use worrying.
JoJo: This game has made us paranoid.
Jenne shrugged, not understanding why everyone was so afraid.
Jenne: No one has caught on to the four of us.
JoJo: We hope.
But Jenne just didn’t get it—why everyone was so afraid, why everyone was stubborn about the next votes. Why couldn’t they just see reason? The day was waxing late, and Jenne had completed her captions and was ready to turn them in. Since no one was willing to commit to a reasonable strategy she figured she would turn in early that night.
After she left the hut, JoJo and Beth frowned at each other.
JoJo: Wow!
Beth: What the hell was that?!
JoJo: I’m shutting up because that’s crap!
Beth: What the hell is she doing?
JoJo: Are we not in her loop anymore?
Beth: I have no clue but if she takes this attitude I will vote her ass out! She is getting cocky as hell and basically treating people icky.
Beth told her quickly the conversation she had had with Chris, and JoJo shook her head with disappointment.
JoJo: It doesn’t shock me. Wow, Beth, you put it out there for Chris so well.
Beth: Chris and I chatted a long time about it.
JoJo: It’s not a shock. She got cocky in your other game, too.
Beth: I was relieved that Chris saw it too.
JoJo: Chris felt like she screwed him up yesterday.
Beth: She is! She wasn’t this bold in Valentine’s Day and is positive she will be final two and has an easy ride to it.
JoJo: At this point, she would be easy to beat. She pissed off a bunch of new folks this week.
Beth: If Jenne isn’t immune this time, I’m afraid she’ll go. She’s pissed off that many people.
JoJo: Kyle is like all about him versus Jenne.
Beth: I sort of understand where he’s coming from. He hasn’t lied to me, yet.
JoJo looked down and thought quickly of all her dealings with Kyle. She ran through her mind their conversations and the recent events, the dynamics.
JoJo: Good point. Same here. He’s just pretty much been balls to the wall.
Beth: And he’s had to be because of the position he was put in. He is frustrated over the whole thing.
JoJo shook her head. Kyle hadn’t spoken to her since the night before. He hadn’t even approached her at the tree-mail reading. JoJo: He’s frustrated with me!
Beth: I don’t blame him.
JoJo: I don’t either. He is playing well. Oh, Beffy… Beth: Now, if I could only think of funny captions.
JoJo: Me, too. Too much pressure.
The rest of the day and well into the night was spent concentrating on coming up with the most humorous captions they could. Most everyone worked on their own, so little strategy and soclializing continued through the remainder of the day. Though nerves were still thin and tensions high. It likely would not change before the end of the day.

Day 17
Much the same as the previous day ended, the seventeenth day of the game began with captioning. Though, by midmorning most everyone had completed their task and sent them to the lobby of the main resort for judging.
Kyle met Beth en route to the main resort, and they walked together.
Kyle: So, Beffy, do you know of future plans? Since there is a bigger group in control…
Beth: I’m not sure of future plans, but I do know of some unhappiness with a certain player by most of the cast it seems.
Kyle smirked.
Kyle: “Seems” being the operative word. I find myself at a stalemate. We are at thirteen. Five of those thirteen have clearly stated that they will not vote for each other under any circumstance….which creates a huge block. Add another who is so far up Jenne’s butt he is walking on shyte, and that makes six.
Beth sighed. She wanted to do so much more but she knew no matter which way she went someone would be vehemently angry with her.
Beth: I’m trying to tell you things without saying names.
Kyle: I know, and you know that gets my goat. The no names thing…that gets to me. I can’t do anything for myself when I don’t know names.
Beth: I’m trying my best to give you what you need while still protecting me. I wish I could say names but I wouldn’t do that to you either.
Kyle cast a sidelong glance at her.
Kyle: Which means you have tons more allegiances than me and I’m supposedly your final two partner.
Beth shot him a glance.
Beth: No, it doesn’t mean that at all. But people tell me stuff—
Kyle: That you can’t tell me. If I knew names, I’d know where to tread and how, but I’m at a stalemate.
He shrugged and looked forward again as they approached the hotel.
Kyle: So, I talk to no one anymore. I could burn bridges with people that do honestly trust me. See where I’m coming from?
Beth: Yeah. I just feel torn.
Kyle: When you get down to it, you and Christopher are in clear control of the game.
Beth jerked.
Beth: Me?!
Kyle: Um, yeah. When I tried to get people to vote for Lis the other night, the only way they would sway depended on whether or not you were voting for Lis. That was everyone’s first question, ‘Is Beth voting for her, too?’”
Beth: Why?! How do I have any pull with people?
Kyle: Because, and I know you hate this, but whether you like it are not, you are a part of the “group”. The only way we can overcome anything is if we have your votes, and we do not. That’s how you are in control.
Beth sighed deeply.
Beth: I actually want Jenne out. She’s hurting me.
Kyle slapped his forhead with agitation.
Kyle: Then vote her out! Beth, stand up for yourself! She is not going to die! It’s just a game! Do ya follow?
Beth: I’m with Jenne much like I was with Tenzil.
Kyle: And I suffered for it and will continue if we don’t act now.
Beth: There aren’t enough votes for her even if I did.
Kyle: Because you helped to axe Ryan.
Beth started to speak again, but stopped. They walked on in silence for a bit.
Beth: I know. I suck.
Kyle: No, you don’t. You’re just being a softy.
Beth: I want people to be happy, dammit!
Kyle shook his head vigorously.
Kyle: Not gonna happen in this game, and you know that. So to make everyone happy you will not vote for six or however many people no matter what, which just ruins the rest.
Beth: No! Not no matter what…there are some conditions. I can see you, Missie, Jon, Jake, Isaac all being immune. Throw in Drew and Ashley and Lis for good measure—we will find ourselves voting for those we have pledged to not ever vote out. See what I mean?
Kyle: No. That’s hypothetical.
Beth: Not really. It could happen. I’m afraid that if it did happen, I would be the one voted out to take out an ally of “theirs”. I feel like I’m walking a very thin line.
Kyle scoffed with a chuckle.
Kyle: No one wants to vote you out. But you won’t let me use your name anywhere, so I can’t assure certain people that you are good.
Beth held up a finger.
Beth: We can compromise on that. You can use me, as long as you tell me.
Kyle nodded quickly.
Kyle: Here’s what I’m seeing…as long as Missie, JoJo, Beffy, Kyle, Isaac are unscathed until ten, we could be ok.
Beth: I’d love that.
Kyle: And to do that…I think Drew needs to go next.
Beth beamed up at him.
Beth: I’m great with that!
He knew that Beth would quickly agree to Drew, but he had to wonder to himself what would happen if the group he proposed somehow made it to a majority or tie situation. What would she do with the others? Would she really throw a random vote? Of all the times she had promised to do that in this game, she had yet to go through with it.
Kyle: So, tell me this. Lis didn’t even deserve to pass the first round. Why is she still here? Shaun and Lisa were axed because of that very gameplay. Lis is still here, yet no one will vote her off. Why?
Beth only nodded.
Kyle: Because she has friends. Can I be honest with you?
Beth: Of course.
Kyle: If you, Beth, were not playing the game or causing trouble and acting horrible among people, I would vote you off.
Her eyes grew wide as she looked at him.
Kyle: It would be nothing personal.
Beth: Well, why couldn’t you vote out Jamie even though she was causing problems?
Kyle: Honestly, I don’t think she was causing problems. She was playing the game.
Beth: And your previous games didn’t come into play?
Kyle: In previous games I would’ve voted her out in a heartbeat without any questions asked.
Beth giggled remembering the moment in Valentine’s Day that she as Gracie had jumped on Kyle one tribal council day and virtually told him to “shut up and vote!” when it had come time to vote Jamie out. It had proven a milestone in their relationship.
Beth: Especially when someone tells you to shut up and vote.
Kyle: Do you remember that I came to you and said we might should call the alliance with Jamie off?
Beth: Yes.
Kyle: If I thought I needed to, I would have. But I didn’t think I needed to then.
Beth: I respect that.
Kyle: But what I don’t get is it’s a game! Vote for what’s best for you! Don’t vote based on friends or who you think will or will not speak to you after!
He paused and looked at Beth full on.
Kyle: How many times have you spoken to Lis since Valentine’s Day?
Beth: None. Not even once.
Kyle: And if you vote her out again, what would change?
Beth groaned and continued walking.
Beth: I hate when you get all logical on me.
Kyle: It’s the truth!
Beth: I know!
Kyle: I’m only saying all this because when we get down to number crunching—I’m gone.
Beth: I think the game will get changed up pretty soon depending on immunity, and I’m not opposed to that.
Kyle: So you’ve said. Ain’t seen the fruits yet!
Kyle rolled his eyes and Beth reached over to pop him on the back of the head.
Beth: You love me!
Kyle: I do love you.
Beth: It’s one of the reasons you love me.
They approached the lobby and let themselves in. There were a few already there turning their pictures in. Among them were Christopher and JoJo, Isaac and Jake. Others were nowhere to be seen or had already submitted their captions.
When JoJo saw Kyle come in she left Christopher’s side and went immediately to him.
JoJo: Awww, Kyle, I’m sorry.
Kyle looked at her oddly.
Kyle: For what?
JoJo: I realized why you aren’t talking to me.
Kyle held up his folder with photographs and completed captions.
Kyle: I’ve been working on the challenge—
JoJo: I really thought I would vote Lizzie when you and I talked. Then I kept talking to people and felt like I couldn’t do it. I didn’t intend to be dishonest with you.
Kyle: If you and Beth would have stuck with the plan, we had the votes.
JoJo shook her head.
JoJo: Beth didn’t sound like she was ever planning to, and it made me backtrack and rethink my loyalties. Ryan never asked me to be loyal to him in any way.
Kyle: This wasn’t about Ryan. This was about taking away Jenne’s power.
JoJo: You make a good point.
Kyle: We handed it to her on a silver platter.
JoJo: I believe Jenne’s powerbase may well be gone.
Kyle: How so?
JoJo looked around quickly to make sure no one was listening or watching for that matter. She even tugged him off to the side out of view of others.
JoJo: I heard many, many people were uncomfortable with her and her game. I think there is still a lot of game to play, and people are considering her place in the game now. I hope you don’t feel like I screwed up your plans. I think ultimately you will see the outcome you want. You have never lied to me or started rumors about me.
Kyle: Not ever. Not to Chris, not to Beth…
JoJo: I do trust that you had a good plan the other night, and I still want to work with you. I believe Jenne has many rumors pointing to her. Love her, love her, love her, but I don’t dig that.
Kyle: So who is looking to be the next boot?
JoJo: I cannot even venture a guess.
Kyle: I know of who I’d like to see that might appease both “sides”. But I’m laying low.
JoJo smiled.
JoJo: Ok, lay low. Just write it here in the dirt.
Kyle grinned at her and looked around quickly before he whispered.
Kyle: Drew. I have no use for him.
JoJo: Interestingly he refers to Jenne as his best friend in the game.
Kyle: Poor, troubled, misled soul.
JoJo: He was so glad to vote Ryan out for her.
Kyle: And yet so ignorant. She has no long term plans for him.
JoJo shook her head regretfully.
JoJo: No, none at all—which will destroy him.
Kyle: Crush him. Which is why I very much dislike Jenne right now.
JoJo: Well, as you mentioned, Beth doesn’t love her game play, and I think many people are becoming less and less happy with her.
Kyle: As well they should. She took this game and made it nasty.
JoJo: Laying low is good, but it is a stong possibility that she won’t hold power for long.
JoJo nodded and squeezed Kyle’s shoulder. She offered him a knowing smile before heading out of the hotel. Kyle watched her leave for a moment, mulling it all over. Could it really be? If he could truly have Beth and JoJo on his side for the next vote then there could very well be a glimmer of hope.
Othes had come in and trickled away, leaving their captions as the deadline quickly approached. When Kyle rounded the corner to leave, he almost ran into Christopher unexpectedly. They both jumped back and chuckled. After exchanging pleasantries, they headed back to the huts together. It was the first time they had spoken since right after the previous tribal council. They started off awkwardly.
Kyle: So how’s it going?
Christopher shrugged indifferently.
Christopher: I haven’t paid attention to the game today, or even last night.
Kyle: I haven’t wanted to.
Christopher: Yes, it has gotten to an unfun point as it often does—but early this time.
Kyle: Needlessly really.
Christopher: Well, yes.
He looked down at Kyle and smiled crookedly.
Christopher: But I think that falls on more than one person.
Kyle: Well, yeah. It’s hard to keep what’s been going on centralized.
Christopher: I think it falls on a number of us.
Kyle: I’m just kind of bummed because I feel like Ryan was blackballed by the same people as last time. I don’t mind admitting that to you even though there was animosity.
Christopher: I agree that could be true. Yet I gotta say, part of the problem is you.
Kyle looked up at him with narrow eyes.
Christopher: You came in afraid there is a “bunch”, so one’s been made up. But I also think Jenne, Ryan, myself—a number of us have stepped in one way or another that isn’t any fun.
Kyle: I completely agree. But on the same token, I wouldn’t have even thought of that “bunch” had Jenne not lost her marbles over Tenzil going.
Christopher: If you think I’m happy with Jenne’s role in this, I’m not. I’m also not happy with some of what you’ve done or what Ryan did. Ryan was not innocent—he had several alliances. Two different ones that had been told to me, plus you two working together. Dude was working everyone, and he got caught.
Kyle: Jenne was working with him, too. She told me she was going to before Tenzil was booted. The only reason I started working with him was to establish where he was, where he was with Jenne, and get his sights off of you and Tay.
Christopher: It’s fine. Truth is, Ryan is dead in this game. We just all need to let him go and be done with it. What I can tell you is this…my gut tells me that you were considering trying to get me out, and that is ok. It does muck up the trust I felt we had. But I am not mad. Really.
Kyle: I have never considered taking you out.
Christopher waved his hands.
Christopher: I know, you’ve maintained that. There was just a lot of shady business. I’m just doing what I’ve been doing—getting Christopher through this game. It works better for me, that way I can like everyone. No promises, no regrets. If you vote me out, it’s cool; if I vote you out, it’s cool; if you vote Jenne out, it’s cool; if I vote so and so out, it’s cool. That’s just been my angle and I want to stick to it.
Kyle: But when you get backed into a corner for not playing someone else’s way, it makes it hard.
Christopher: Well, I don’t know. I don’t think you have a clear view of what you’ve been doing either. I think you and Jenne are both wanting to run things. You got burned in another game, and you haven’t let that go. It’s mucking you up here. I feel like you’ve played as if you’ve been backed into a corner since the game began, and you didn’t have to. You are the one person who I picked to win from minute one.
Kyle crossed his arms as he listened. While the advice may have been golden coming from any other source, it felt entirely too condescending. Nevertheless, he listened.
Christopher: You had the connections and the attitude. But that Kyle didn’t come into play. Angry Kyle showed up, whose bruised feelings from the other season feel very much present. Meanwhile Jenne thinks she is untouchable or is acting like it and doesn’t seem to feel accountable for certain things. You two are just feeding each other.
Kyle shook his head.
Kyle: Where was angry Kyle before Jenne pulled her claws out?
Christopher grinned.
Christopher: This is where I think differently. Before Tenz was voted out some votes happened that you weren’t on board with or didn’t initiate, and you got sort of unhinged about it. You even went as far as to say that you wanted to be the one making decisions—which is cool. But you both are doing the same thing.
He paused to let his point sink in, but Kyle only stared back at him.
Christopher: Blah blah blah. Sorry, I’m so not trying to preach.
Kyle didn’t much agree with anything, but he appreciated the honesty. He could even play along with it for grins.
Kyle: No, and you are right. I like listening to it, ‘cause it’s true.
Christopher nodded in approval.
Christopher: So, it has been difficult. Toss that in with the whole “get Chris out” movement, and I just had to detach from most everyone for sanity.
Kyle: Oh well. People take this game too personally sometimes, and it makes it not quite as fun.
Christopher: Ryan kept trying to talk to me and his confrontation at the challenge was the last straw. I dug him, but man…what a bullshit artist. So I bit back. Honestly, I enjoyed it!
Christopher lauged out loud.
Kyle: Me being honest, I thought it was classless myself.
Christopher quit laughing quickly and shot Kyle a look.
Kyle: But hey…I’m the power whore. You’re the name caller.
Christopher: I called him an idiot once.
Kyle smiled and patted his shoulder.
Kyle: I know…I’m ruffling your feathers.
Christopher: That’s just me. If I call you something behind your back, I’ll say it to your face, too. That’s how I play.
Kyle nodded with mock approval. He knew. One hundred times over he knew. That point was never left unclear by Christopher. Kyle honestly felt tired as he made his way back to his hut.
But Christopher received a different vibe from the conversation. Kyle Adams just might be pliable yet.

So the rest of the afternoon was spent waiting and relaxing and talking idly with the rest of the cast. Immunity was crucial at this point and Christopher and Beth both harbored real fears that the wrong people would be immune and vulnerable. Many gathered together to share and laugh over each other’s submissions.
All in all the day was low key though much was at stake and pending upon the challenge results.
When seven o’clock rolled around, the entire cast was in the hotel lobby promptly to hear the scores. Karen stood in her usual place with a smile, clasping her hands before her.
Karen: You may be wondering who your judges were. Each of the castaways that have been voted out were given the opportunity to judge. They were not told which captions belonged to which person. Three castaways from the loser lodge submitted scores. Your judges were Rami, Tenzil, and Jamie and here are your scores.
She turned to unveil a board with the list of each remaining castaway and their scores. In last place was Missie who failed to turn in her submission, which left her vulnerable for the first time in the game. In twelfth place was Jon with a cumulative score of 1.2. Surpassing him was Elisabeth with 1.33 and Taylor with a score of 1.4. Ashley and Drew tied next, both with 1.46. Jake followed with a score of 1.56—the last of the vulnerable scorers. The first to secure immunity was Beth and Christopher who both tied for fifth place with scores of 1.60. Isaac and Jenne followed with scores of 1.73 and 1.66 respectively. In second place was JoJo with 1.76, and Kyle claimed the top score with 2.03 points.
Everyone clapped and shook hands and patted backs as they celebrated victories. Taylor and Elisabeth looked at each other glumly, but Elisabeth offered a sweet smile and encouraged him. Nothing got Elisabeth down, and she wasn’t going to let it get Taylor down either.
Karen: Beth, Christopher, Jake, Jenne, JoJo, and Kyle…congratulations on winning immunity! Kyle, as the top scorer you must choose six names, and you have one hour to do this, without knowing why you are choosing them.
Kyle breathed a sigh of relief. After all that had happened in the past couple of days, he was grateful to be able to rest easy in at least one more tribal council. Quickly he considered the group around him, who was aligned with whom, and who would most likely be more vulnerable than the next should one side be safe over the other. He thought quickly and approached Karen, giving her his own name along with JoJo, Jenne, Missie, Isaac, and Jon.
On the tables, each of the Survivors’ folders were available for perusal and most everyone gathered to see the submissions of their opponents. Some captions were hysterical, some were not so humorous. Some were even maddening.
Jenne flipped through Kyle’s pictures and she came to one that caught her eye. The picture was of a man whose entire body was duct taped against a cinderblock wall. Jenne’s eyes fell to the caption that read, “He must have an alliance with Jenne,” and everything inside her grew cold as the blood boiled in her head. She jerked her head up quickly and looked over to where Kyle was busy with Karen. Christopher was standing next to her browsing pictures when she tugged at his arm.
Jenne: Asswipe!
Christopher looked down at her.
Christopher: Don’t call me asswipe!
Jenne: I was calling Kyle asswipe!
Christopher: Congrats on immunitay!
Jenne: You too! Our four are a funny bunch, eh? Christopher: We are quite good, I guess.
Jenne shrugged.
Jenne: I’m a really good hooker.
Christopher: I know this to be true.
Jenne: Who are we thinking for tomorrow?
Christopher studied her for a moment.
Christopher: I’m not sure…I’m open. But what was your little joke about saying I decide who goes?
Jenne looked up at him quickly, forgetting her slap from Kyle.
Jenne: Beth asked me who I thought should go, and I said I didn’t know—whoever Chris says.
He narrowed his eyes at her.
Christopher: Mmhmm. You know that isn’t true. Heck, I voted Tenzil twice without you. I don’t dictate anything.
Jenne: That’s not what I was saying, jeez. Sensative! I’m between Jon and Missie, by the way. Jon is boring but I want to vote Missie out tomorrow.
Christopher raised his eyebrows and held his hands up.
Christopher: Woah! What is this Missie bit?
Jenne: Well, you don’t want to vote Ash out right now, Kyle and Isaac are immune, and Missie is a bigger threat at this point than Jon. You said you wanted to get rid of her. Jon or Missie are both crutches to Kyle.
Christopher: Interesting. It is her first time without immunity.
Jenne: I think it would be the smart thing to do anyways.
She looked over to where Kyle was approaching the table, having finished his decision with Karen.
Jenne: I bet Kyle’s sad I’m immune again.
She then held up the picture with her name in the captions.
Jenne: Can you believe what he wrote about me in this caption? Jamie and Rami both gave him five points for that because they both hate me!
Christopher: Seemed a bit low to me.
Jenne: Really low…and ridiculous, too! Makes me feel like I was an idiot thinking we were friends all this time—that he’s like that in this game.
Christopher studied the caption a moment.
Christopher: I guess you are playing ice cold. Apparently he feels justified.
He winked at her and stroked her hair.
Christopher: You two need to have it out. I would let him have it. It’s one thing to say that about someone not still in the game but you are both here. You see it!
Jenne: He just cares so little for me. He’s burning bridges, so there is no chance of reconciliation. He just slapped me publicly.
They both looked up at Kyle as he mingled.
Christopher: Maybe post game there will be reconciliation.
Jenne: I don’t think so. I had him on a pedestal that he didn’t deserve.
Christopher: Just chalk it up to game.
Jenne: I’ve lost so much respect for him. I just know that real friends don’t behave like that. You, Beth, Jo, Mikey, and all…would never do this to me.
Christopher: I know, babe. Try and let it be game. Maybe post game he will still be your friend. You guys just ended up on completely opposite sides of things. Everything will be ok again.
She sighed heavily.
Jenne: We’ll see.
She crossed her arms sadly as she watched Kyle leave the hotel with several others, including Beth and JoJo. Something needed to change. Somewhere somehow they needed to resolve issues.
But at the moment, Kyle was only concerned with a group session with Isaac Miller and Missie Bird. Now that immunity had been announced they could decide how to advance.
Isaac was the last one to enter Missie’s hut and close the door behind him.
Isaac: Hi, guys.
Kyle: Hello, hello!
Isaac: Missie, Jenne is on to you and Kyle. She made a comment to me about how you two are really close.
Kyle and Missie exchanged glances quickly.
Missie: She’s trying to get you to distrust us. Is it wrong to say she’s close with Chris and Taylor?
Kyle and Isaac both nodded.
Isaac: She doesn’t understand I’m in with you guys. Chris was a bit harder to convince; he knows I’m smart. Jenne doesn’t. She thinks I’m stupid.
Missie: Chris really likes you, Isaac.
Isaac shrugged.
Isaac: Well, Kyle, we won immunity! We have to focus keeping the vote off Missie.
Kyle: Let me just say that Jenne doesn’t scare me one bit.
Missie: Me either, at all. She just pisses me off now.
Kyle: I think if we target Drew, we can do it.
Missie: Beth and JoJo told me they would work with me because they are worried about her too.
Kyle: How close are Jon and Drew if at all?
Isaac: Not close. Jon will cut off Drew…I’m sure of it.
Kyle: So we got us three, Jon, Ashley, maybe Beth and JoJo for Drew? What do you guys think?
Isaac: We got it. I just hope Jenne and her possies don’t target Missie.
Missie: I’ll be giving a little earful to Taylor.
Kyle: Be careful with Taylor! We need to keep this one on the d-low.
Missie: Jenne came to me about keeping the girls all together and has not spoken to me since the Tenzil vote.
Kyle: That’s what makes me so mad about what Chris accused Ryan of. Jenne has a zillion alliances, too!
Missie: Jenne is using personal stuff with Taylor too, I know she is.
Isaac: She is thinning herself out, and people are gonna talk. Missie: And who the heck is Lis? Is she even here or just a finger puppet on Jenne’s hand?
Isaac: Finger puppet and not here! But Drew is more important to vote for. He is really brainwashed by Jenne right now.
Missie: I am voting Drew.
Isaac: He is not smart enough to eventually realize that Jenne is not on his side. Other players will realize that eventually…hopefully.
Kyle suddenly laughed out loud and Missie and Isaac looked over at him.
Kyle: I can’t believe our captions were displayed for everyone! One of mine will ruffle feathers.
Isaac brightened.
Isaac: Oh, Kyle! You scored ten points on that one!
Missie yawned and spoke up.
Missie: Alright, I’m headed out. We’ll get together tomorrow.
Isaac: See ya tomorrow. Hopefully this works.
Missie: I think I got Beth.
Kyle: And I’ll talk to Jon.
Isaac: I’ll catch Ashley.
Missie hugged them both before she left. Isaac turned to Kyle.
Isaac: I’m really glad you didn’t stick with Valentine’s Day.
Kyle: I really do wanna stick with you and Missie, so we gotta work it.
Isaac reached out to shake Kyle’s hand, and Kyle took it firmly.
Isaac: Yes!
Kyle: See ya, Isaac. After her group session with Isaac and Kyle, Missie had excused herself for the night but found she could not possibly prevent herself from making a quick detour to Taylor Napier’s hut. Taylor had remained low key for the past several days. The rift between Kyle and Jenne had really affected him, putting him in a tight situation. Furthermore, Ryan Appel was gone—what more did he need to fight at the moment?
Finding Missie at his door was a shock, but he let her in all the same. After all, they were loosely aligned and Missie seemed in great need of venting.
Missie: You know Jenne is really, really upset with me, don’t you?
Taylor: What happened?
Missie: Well, I know she does not like me, and she’s been trying to work people from day one against me, and that’s cool and stuff. ‘Tis the game…but don’t come to me about how we need to keep the girls together and stuff. It upsets me that she hasn’t spoken to me since the Tenzil boot.
Taylor: That’s odd.
Missie: I know she wanted to keep Tenzil around, and I know I’m not a part of her plans. I know you are, and that’s cool, but I really did commit myself to you and Kyle and Isaac. I feel she is using stuff to break that up. If it works, fine, but she never gave me a chance.
Inside, Taylor groaned. If he was going to be the mediator between Jenne and everyone in the cast, he was eventually going to tear his hair out. At the moment, he was just too exhausted. Losing yet another immunity had not brightened his day. Defending Jenne to yet another person was not high on his priorities.
Taylor: I know, I know. Can we talk tomorrow? I need sleep, but I wanna talk this out.
Missie pressed her lips together, disappointed.
Missie: Ok. I’d really like to talk it out, because I really like you, Taylor. You are kinda my guide here, ya know? You kinda quit talking to me, too, so I was depending on Chris.
Taylor: I’m sorry. It wasn’t on purpose.
Missie smiled at him.
Missie: Good ‘cause I’d have to hunt you down.
Taylor shut the door after her and turned around thoughtfully. This coupled with his immunity loss was nothing to end the night on. But this was also the very reason he had aligned with Missie Bird in the first place—to keep her close at all times and keep an eye on everything she was doing. Try to turn Taylor against Jenne? That was never going to happen!
Without further contemplation he found Jenne heading to JoJo’s hut and pulled her aside discretely to tell her about Missie. He was not going to let Missie hold any power, especially if she was goint to try and use it against Jenne of all people! Jenne took the news rather indifferently, but the words of warning didn’t go unheeded.
Just a few huts over the dominating couter-alliance on the other side of the fence had gathered for their tri-daily tribal council discussion. Only this time each member was silently disgruntled for various reasons. Though when they convened, the beginning of the meeting started just like any other time—with laughter and friendship. Jenne bounded through the door where she found JoJo and Beth waiting. Christopher came in shortly after her.
Jenne: Hi, girls! Group pow-wow time!
JoJo: Hey, hey, my friends! What’s new everyone? What shall we immune folks do tonight?
Jenne beamed.
Jenne: Us funny as hell immune folks. We be funny! Not only are we the prettiest, most charming, most brilliant group…now we are the wittiest as well!
JoJo: Others didn’t seem that funny to me.
Jenne: Anyone notice that Kyle got fives from Rami and Jamie for his Jenne shit-talking? How rude!
Christopher and JoJo nodded. Jenne blew it off.
Jenne: So what are we doing for tomorrow? Have you guys discussed it at all? I told Chris who I’d like to see go, but I’m not tryin’ to impose my will on anyone.
Beth: Who do you want, Jenne?
Jenne: Well, there is someone who is gunning for me, and I’d like that particular person gone. But that’s just me.
JoJo: Who, honey? You mean Jon?
Jenne: No. Jon is a piss-ant. Missie.
JoJo cocked her head.
JoJo: Missie wants you gone?
Jenne: Um, yeah. She wants me gone bad, apparently.
Christopher: Tell us what you heard.
Jenne shrugged as JoJo and Beth leaned in more closely to listen. Jenne paced for a moment.
Jenne: Apparently I don’t talk to her ever, so she wants me gone, and it bugs me when people say that. She did this crap before. You seemed to think it wasn’t a bad idea earlier, Chris.
Christopher shrugged and looked to JoJo and Beth.
Christopher: I hadn’t heard any of this.
Jenne: Oh well, that’s just my feeling. What’s on y’all’s brains?
JoJo looked around, stammering. No one else was going to offer their input.
JoJo: Well…you know Missie wasn’t my favorite person in the game initially. I will admit she grew on me since then.
Jenne: She’s immune a lot. Like every time. So unless we’d like to see her creep her way up the ranks, this could be the only shot. Oh, and did I mention she wants me gone?
JoJo patted her gently.
JoJo: Yes, honey.
Christopher finally stood up and cleared his throat.
Christopher: Can I ask a question? If you guys vote Missie, can I just throw a random?
Jenne dropped her hands to her sides and deadpanned at Christopher.
Christopher: I am somewhat aligned with her and would rather not vote her out. Granted she hasn’t mentioned this Jenne plot to me—
Jenne huffed and paced away.
Jenne: I don’t think anyone besides me is on board.
Christopher: Jenne, like I said…I totally support you making that vote. Just not a hundred percent comfortable doing this particular one with you just because she has been pretty cool with me. I can throw a random vote so as not to eff things up.
Jenne whirled around.
Jenne: Missie is a threat at this point. She has ties to Isaac, Ash, and Kyle. Strategically she should go.
Christopher: We will still have the numbers no matter who goes.
Jenne: If you throw a vote then there will be twelve people left on the field. We still need seven.
Christopher looked down thoughtfully.
Christopher: Oh. So what if we vote Jon tomorrow? Then they have even less numbers next time.
Jenne: It seems to me a get her while you can sort of thing.
Christopher: I definitely see your point on the immunity thing.
JoJo: Yes, she is a strong player. She came in second in her season.
Christophe swept his hand wide across the room.
Christopher: We came in first, first, third, third. We can’t really knock her for that.
JoJo: True dat.
Christopher: Anyway, I need to go to bed.
Jenne: Ok, so we have decided nothing!

She looked intensely at the rest, but they only stared back at her, Christopher almost challenging her. Beth and JoJo remained quiet, both lost in their own thoughts. Frustrated, Jenne dropped her hands.
Jenne: Oh well. Since I’m not getting a whole lot of support, and if not Missie, then who? Our options are sorta only Jon and Missie.
JoJo looked up to Christopher.
JoJo: I’d like a kid to go soon. There are so many.
Jenne: You want Jon gone then?
Christopher: If you guys want Jon, I can throw in on that one. I owe him nothing. When it’s Missie’s time I’d prefer to throw a random if at all possible.
Jenne: Fine, but I think Missie is a smarter move. Jon doesn’t really present a threat, ever. Missie has been since day one.
She looked around hopefully, but no one was budging. They merely looked at her.
Jenne: I guess it worries me ‘cause she’s tight with all three of you now, apparently.
JoJo gaped.
JoJo: With me? Honey, we are not in any way tight.
Jenne: Well, she talks to you which is more than I can say. I want her gone, haven’t hid that.
Christopher: Can we take out a kid this week to undermine her support? I feel like she deserves jury. Jenne shrugged Christopher off and continued selling.
Jenne: If we make this a Jon versus Missie thing you can get a vote from Jon.
Christopher: I will be fine voting for her first or second into the jury. Before that just bothers me.
Jenne turned to Christopher. Her eyes were very direct and demanding.
Jenne: So when someone plots to get rid of you, and I tell you I want that person on the jury, can you tell me how that feels to you? I just sorta feel…blah.
Christopher: If you guys do it, so be it. I hear you, Jenne. I don’t want you to feel unsafe or not taken care of.
Jenne: Thank you.
Christopher: Now I really have to go to bed. I will talk to you guys later!
Without hesitation, he left the hut to avoid any more questions or sales pitches. There was a whole day yet to decide what to do, and he was not going to have his hand forced. Once he was gone, the others decided to call it a night as well.
But Jenne wasn’t satisfied. There had to be something she could do to win them over and take out the largest threat, aside from Kyle, remaining in the game. As soon as she stepped out of JoJo’s hut, she lay her eyes on Elisabeth’s, noting the light was on. A smile crossed her face.
Elisabeth had scarcely left her hut other than for challenges and tribal council and would likely not even know what was going on. Jenny ventured an assumption that she would be an easy sway.
But as she made her way to Elisabeth’s hut, someone called out her name in the darkness and startled her. Jenne turned quickly to find Jon Kennedy approaching her, and a snide look came across her face.
Jenne: What’s up, Jon? Haven’t talked to you in quite some time, eh?
Jon: I know, I’m sorry about that.
Jenne: It’s cool. You joined an alliance with me and within twenty-four hours ratted it out. You had no reason to talk to me, yeah?
Jon paused, taken aback.
Jon: Ryan said it was done.
Jenne: Actually you went and told Kyle about it, then Kyle confronted Ryan, then Kyle confronted me. After that it was sorta toast.
Jon sighed heavily.
Jon: I don’t know why I did it. I guess you don’t want to talk to me.
Jenne softened. She actually needed his vote against Missie and there was no sense in turning him off now.
Jenne: No, of course I do, Jon. I just wanted to clear the air. I don’t like beating around stuff, ya know?
Jon: I was expecting you wanted my ass outta here or something.
Jenne: I’m not voting for you tomorrow. I don’t blame you for what you did. For some reason you think Kyle saved you and felt you owed him something. I’ll tell you one thing right now…Kyle isn’t the one who saved you.
Jon: I wasn’t asking you to not vote me. I do deserve that after what I did.
Jenne: Jon, I voted for you before. You have every right to do what you did. No need to feel like you betrayed me, bro. Seriously, I’m not voting for you tomorrow but I think some people are.
Jon frowned and looked down for a moment.
Jenne: Just to warn ya. Who are you planning on voting for?
Jon: I’ve heard Drew. I might go for him.
Jenne flinched and opened her eyes widely.
Jenne: I haven’t heard him at all! I’ve heard you or Missie.
Jon: Well, it looks like there’s a good chance it could be me, then.
Jenne: If you vote Missie, then it won’t be. There are enough votes for her to go. I think people are more threatened by her than you.
Jon: I’m grateful for you telling me all this, but I still find myself asking why I deserve you giving me the heads up.
Jenne smiled sightly and put a hand on his arm.
Jenne: I’m not doing this to help you. Missie targeted me several times in this game, so I feel threatened by her, just like Kyle was threatened by Tenz and wanted him gone. So…you staying is not out of the goodness of our hearts. It’s strategic. I’m not gonna lie to you.
Jon narrowed his eyes at her.
Jenne: I’m not making this out like I’m protecting you. You can go and rat me out if you want, and that would be your choice. I’m giving you a second chance by trusting you. What you do with it is up to you.
Jon nodded slowly, considering all that she was saying.
Jon: I think I’ve learned from my mistake.
Jenne: First learning curve, yeah? Keeps you alive in this game, I’ll tell ya.
Jon: I hope so.
Jenne smiled and kissed toward him before heading back toward her first order of business—Elisabeth Marie. Jon was an easy sway toward Missie and she was confident she had accomplished just that, and Elisabeth would be no different.
Jon watched her sachet away. He would have to relay this incident with Kyle. Elisabeth answered the knock promptly and as cheerful as ever and was honored to find Jenne Lotz standing on the other side. Despite the late hour she hugged Jenne and helped her into the hut.
Elisabeth: Hey!
Jenne: Hey, girl!
Elisabeth: What’s up?
Jenne sighed distraughtly. Jenne: Just talking about this vote.
Elisabeth: Oh, that sounds like a gay ol’ time!
Jenne: Yeah, joy! Want the low down?
Elisabeth: Dip it low, sistah!
Jenne: Missie wants me gone, has for some time. So I want her gone.
She paused to smile at Elisabeth.
Jenne: It’s sorta between Jon and Missie at this point, but Jon is a piss-ant. Chris is aligned with Missie and is gonna throw his vote away.
Elisabeth: He’s aligned with Missie?
Jenne nodded sadly.
Jenne: But he’s not standing up to protect her.
Elisabeth: Gotcha. Do you think it’ll be another double tribal council?
Jenne shook her head and narrowed her eyes at Elisabeth.
Jenne: No, no more of those.
Elisabeth: So, Missie or Jon?
Jenne: I would like Missie gone. This is her first time not immune all game, and I’m afraid our time to dump her is dwindling.
Elisabeth paused to think about it for a moment. It seems she did recall that Missie had been among the immune group after every challenge thus far.
Elisabeth: I’m thinking I will vote Missie. I like Jon more than her, personally.
Jenne: Strategically she’s a big threat, and I sorta want to get her while she’s vulnerable. To be very honest, it worries me that Chris is attached to her.
Elisabeth: What worries me is that she was a target, I believe, for the first tribal council and then not again when she’s just gotten stronger. She’s always had immunity so I think people have overlooked her.
Jenne: I think it’s doable. We need seven for it to go through.
Elisabeth: Well, we would have you, me, and Beth. Would Taylor vote Missie? ‘Cause if we can do it, I say we do it while we can but it has to be completely. If it’s close and Missie survives, we might have some problemos!
Jenne: I’ve got you, me, Beth, Taylor…JoJo is on board and is talking to Jake. I’ll talk to Drew. Apparently they are trying to vote him out on the other side, so he’d be down I’m sure.
Elisabeth: You could probably get Jon, too, if he knew he was a target.
Jenne waved her off.
Jenne: Already told him.
So that was that. Jenne was confident she had picked up two additional votes to the four she already had. Drew would be a definite, so she was good to go with Missie. Chris was welcomed to throw a random vote wherever he wanted.
That was all she needed to do for the evening. Come morning everything would fall into place for the evening’s tribal council.
That was to say, barring anyone messing up her plans. Namely Missie Bird.
Day 18
When the day rolled out in full force, Jenne hadn’t prepared herself for the repercussions of Missie Bird finding out that she had more or less single-handedly placed the target upon her. In Jenne’s eyes a vote toward Missie would be easy as pie, even with a random vote thrown by Chris. What Jenne hadn’t expected was the wrath that Missie could unleash when backed into a corner. The woman knew exactly how to get herself out of tight situation and knew she had the right allies to pull it off.
Jenne made began making her rounds as soon as she left her hut for the day.
Jenne: Will you vote Missie tonight? I know you don’t wanna, but will you? I need to know if it’s possible.
Beth: Anything is possible, especially for you, babe.
Jenne grinned.
Jenne: That made my heart pitter-patter.
She continued her way around camp until she found Taylor.
Jenne: I’m trying to work the Missie thing.
Taylor nodded hopefully. After his incomplete discussion with Missie the night before, he was glad that Jenne was already at work.
Jenne: So far I got me, Jo, Lizzie, you, and Beth. Drew and Jake shouldn’t be far behind. Chris will throw his vote away.
Taylor: Good job.
Jenne: I worked on Jon a bit.
Taylor froze and shook his head quickly.
Taylor: I wouldn’t try Jon! You go to Jon, then Kyle knows, then Missie knows…you know that, right?
Jenne shrugged. Of course she knew, had even threatened Jon for such actions. Missie and Kyle simply didn’t have the power.
Jenne: I gave Jon crap for screaming at “daddy” already so he’s really worried. Basically, he’s gone if he don’t vote for her.
She smiled up at him, proud of herself and moved on still.
Drew was up in the main resort pacing the lobby almost as if he was waiting for someone. Jenne watched him for a moment. His face spoke volumes of the worry he felt, and she approached him at once. Jenne: Drew!
He looked up quickly and seemed relieved as he headed toward her.
Drew: How are you?
Jenne: Stressin’ over this vote.
Drew: Have you heard anything yet?
Jenne grew solemn and touched his arm.
Jenne: I’ve heard your name, Jon, and Missie.
Drew: Oh, wow, ok…
He found himself short on words. He had heard bits and pieces of rumblings about his name being tossed out, but Jenne confirming it made it that much more real and deadly.
Drew: I think we need to push for Jon because I think Missie will vote for him.
Jenne: I’ve been pushing Missie all day.
Drew: Who’s throwing my name around?
Jenne: Jon is the one who told me.
Drew smirked.
Drew: Oh interesting. As if I didn’t dislike him enough anyway.
Jenne: I don’t know if it came from him, though. But you aren’t going…no way!
That coming from Jenne was also more reassuring.
Drew: I would like to see Jon go rather than Missie, but I don’t care. Whatever everyone decides.
Jenne shifted on her feet and arched her brow.
Jenne: How come?
Drew: I just have never liked Jon, and he treated me really horribly in Halloween. I guess I never really made up with him.
Jenne sighed heavily, looking distraught.
Jenne: This whole thing just bugs me.
Drew: Why’s that?
Jenne: ‘Cause you my bud! That’s why!
Drew blushed and looked down and kicked his feet.
Drew: Thanks, Jenne. But this sucks! I don’t want to campaign too much, but I just want to stay in this game so badly!
Jenne: If you want to vote Jon, I’ll vote Jon with you.
He smiled up at her. He would do anything to help Jenne, and the fact that she would vote Jon with him raised his trust that much more. She was most definitely his best friend in the game.
Almost as quickly as Jenne had made the rounds promoting a Missie target, word got around to Missie, who was none too pleased. Even after confiding in Taylor, Missie realized that Taylor had gone AWOL for the early part of the morning, and the target against Missie had grown considerably.
Missie was not happy about this. Especially when Jenne approached her out of a seemingly friendly gesture.
Missie had been sitting in the coffee shop drinking a mocha, stewing over the information she had received, when Jenne happened upon her. Missie looked up and forced a smile across her face.
Jenne: Hey, girl!
Missie: Hello, Jenne. What are you up to?
Smiling, Jenne took a seat next to her and smiled.
Jenne: Just relaxing and enjoying the sites for today.
Missie smirked.
Missie: And plotting my demise.
Jenne’s smile faded as Missie grinned at her cheekily. Then it was on. Jenne forced a cheeky grin in return.
Jenne: Naturally.
Missie: It’s ok…you go ahead and try. I never told Taylor I wanted you gone.
Jenne: I wanted to talk to you today for a reason—
Missie: I told him you upset me by not speaking to me since the Tenzil vote and you telling others that you wanted me gone.
Jenne gaped.
Jenne: I never told anyone I wanted you gone. I was told you wanted me gone!
Missie nodded cynically.
Missie: I know you are today. You want everyone to vote for me. Thing is…I did not say I wanted you gone!
Jenne: That was AFTER I was told you wanted me gone! Twice! What’s going on then? I don’t like either of us being played off one another because it’s crappy! We need to talk.
Missie crossed her arms stubbornly and burned Jenne with her eyes.
Missie: I was told I was nowhere in your plans and that you are pissed off that Tenzil was gone because you wanted the whole Valentine’s Day gang to run the game!
Jenne: That’s crap and nowhere near the truth!
Missie shrugged. Jenne cold deny all she wanted.
Missie: Then why did you stop talking to me?
Jenne: You stopped talking to me! I felt I tried but you just weren’t interested, so I gave up!
Missie: I never knew when you were around, and when I did see you I was always barraged with people making me question everything.
Jenne considered her for a moment. She could possibly see where this was headed. Kyle and Ryan had tickled her ears and done their part in spreading Jenne hate.
Jenne: No way was I Valentine’s Day pride. Kyle and Ryan told me that Valentine’s Day should stick together. That came from them!
Missie paused for a moment and cocked her head.
Missie: No joke?
Jenne: Yep. Not that I think they meant it ‘cause they both plotted my demise as well.
Looking down, Missie replayed as many events in her head as she could. It would make sense that Ryan and Kyle had misled Jenne in that thought, but that didn’t mean they had been against Missie…or that Jenne had any future plans for her.
Missie: The thing is, you and Taylor quit talking to me at the same time and that kinda made me believe stuff.
Jenne: I gave up because I felt you didn’t have any interest in me.
Missie: I have to admit that I gave up once I figured you and Taylor and Lis were after me.
Jenne shook her head.
Jenne: We were never after you. Around the time of the Tenzil boot, I was told you wanted me gone.
Jenne narrowed her eyes. She had been wanting to unload certain information on Missie and now seemed like the golden opportunity.
Jenne: Kyle told me he wanted you gone if you weren’t immune at that time. But you won immunity and he went gung ho after Tenzil, and then I was told that you and him were all buddy buddy.
Missie: Well Kyle is the biggest two-face in the game for sure, then. I always thought and was told early on that Taylor, Kyle, me, and Isaac were loosely aligned. I thought that for…oh, a nanosecond.
Jenne snorted with a nod.

Jenne: That’s how long stuff lasts around here. Kyle and I were really good friends before this started, and sadly this game has torn our relationship to shreds. Obviously with what he said about me in his picture caption.
Missie shrugged.
Missie: I don’t know about that.
Jenne: Whoever told you about me wanting you gone was lying because I never said that until I was told last night that you wanted me gone.
Missie: This is so insane, Jenne, I swear!
Jenne: I know!
Missie: I said last night to Taylor that I was upset. That’s all I said.
Jenne: I feel like someone tried to keep you and I apart.
A silence fell over them for a moment, both wavering in whether or not they could trust the other. The desire was definitely there, but so much had happened, and neither were in each other’s plans. That was a fact.
Missie: We’re two powerful kinda a gals…they think they can pit us against each other?
Jenne: Let’s not let them! I wanna know who’s behind it. I wasn’t angry about Tenz going. He was just my friend, and I felt like I had to stand by him. Kyle seemed to think I was really upset over it but I wasn’t. I was upset with Kyle because he blew me off in this game.
Missie: Well, you’ve got JoJo hating on me, thinking I’m evil.
Jenne blinked.
Jenne: JoJo likes you!
Missie: I’ve also been told you have alliances with everyone.
Jenne: Then you’ve been fed crap. The only alliance I joined was with Jon, Ryan, and Drew, and that lasted less than twelve hours ‘cause Jon went and told Kyle.
Missie shook her head.
Missie: I’m just floored here.
Another silence fell over them before Jenne spoke up.
Jenne: I say we have two options here.
Missie looked up curiously.
Jenne: I say we either let “them” win and we have girl fights until we rip each other to shreds. As hot as that sounds, I don’t like that plan.
Missie managed a snicker.
Missie: Not unless it ends naked!
Jenne laughed.
Jenne: Or we let them think it’s working but really keep the lines of communication open and compare notes which—would benefit us both.
Missie: I agree.
Jenne beamed and sat up straight.
Jenne: So, tonight…no more Missie is the devil—which truly only sprung forth today after I was told you were trying to get me out. Who do you want gone?
Missie: I’ve heard it’s me or Drew.
Jenne shook her head.
Jenne: I heard Jon.
Bingo! Missie knew at once what Jenne was trying to do, and she wanted to fall over laughing, but she maintained her face. She and Jenne were getting somewhere that could provide Missie with all the valuable information she needed.
Missie: Why Jon and not Drew?
Jenne: I had an alliance with Jon, and the next day he ratted it out. Pisses a girl off sometimes. Can you blame me?
Missie: Well, I’d rather not vote Jon next because I promised him I wouldn’t, and I don’t want to lie. Why don’t you want Drew?
Jenne: Drew was in that same alliance with me and was the only one loyal to it. I sorta feel like he’s honest with me.
Missie nodded. It sounded like the perfect setup for Jenne to keep Drew.
Missie: Can you tell me honestly? What was the deal with Ryan and all that? Why did he want to vote Chris?
Jenne sighed. This was dead to her, and she didn’t want to get into it again. She still had campaigning to do.
Jenne: Kyle told me that Ryan thought there was some big, huge alliance of season one folks and Lizzie and Taylor. But I don’t see how four people is big, huge.
Jenne arose from her chair.
Jenne: So yeah, as far as I know, that’s where that came from. I have to go, but I’ll be back.
In a flash, Jenne left Missie alone. Missie chuckled. She couldn’t wait for the first chance to get rid of that girl. Things would be so much smoother then.
Drew was still out in the lobby, and Jenne took him by the hand as she led him out of the resort toward the aisle of huts.
Jenne: I’d like Missie to go because she’s a big threat. But she found out, so I don’t know. Someone told her I was going after her.
Drew: Really?
Jenne: Yeah, and I think it may have been JoJo because she knew something that I only told JoJo.
Drew: Which was?
Jenne merely looked down at him and shook her head slightly.
Drew: Or you don’t have to tell me. I shouldn’t have asked.
Jenne: It’s ok, I was told Missie wanted me gone. I don’t know what to do. I’m scared if we don’t get Missie now she’s gonna come hardcore after me now.
Drew: I will vote Missie if you want me to. I’ve decided.
Jenne smiled down at him.
Jenne: Then I will too. Thank you for making it easier on me.
Drew: My pleasure. That’s what friends are for, right?
Jenne hugged him tightly. He was so good to her, and she found that she really did adore him. It was going to be a long, bumpy road and she had no clue how she was going to deal with him later in the game, but for right now, everything was falling in place.
But Missie was not content with how the chips were falling. Her chat with Jenne had left her with a plethora of thoughts and emotions. Jenne had just opened her eyes to the possibility that outside forces could be pitting them against one another, but hadn’t Kyle warned Missie that Jenne might play that card? And now she had Taylor to deal with. She had voiced a concern with Taylor, honestly thinking they were in somewhat of an agreement thought they hadn’t spoken in days, and Taylor had already sold her out in less than twenty-four hour’s time? This was proof in the pudding that Jenne and Taylor were tight and lying their faces off about their rift. There was no rift.
Missie sought Taylor out as quickly as she could.
Missie: Hey, Mr. Thang.
Taylor stood clutching his door for a moment, not wanting to get into any more discussions with her. But he knew she wouldn’t let it lie.
He played along with her. Taylor: What be up?
Missie smirked and pushed her way inside.
Missie: Last night did I say I wanted Jenne gone? I believe I said she upset me! That is not I want her gone!
Taylor sighed and rubbed his head.
Taylor: That was not my impression.
Missie: She said she was told last night that I wanted her gone.
Taylor: I’ve been told that you wanted me gone before. So who knows?
Missie: That is nuts! Did Kyle tell you that?
Taylor: A few people have.
Missie: That is wrong!
Taylor: Are you saying that I’m wrong?
Missie: No, whoever told you the BS is! d**n, this stinks!
Taylor: Honestly I don’t think you’ll go, so I wouldn’t worry. Jenne just got upset.
Missie thought about what Jenne had told her. Maybe they were in fact both being duped?
Missie: I’ve been played, I think, and Jenne, too.
Taylor: I think someone is playing a lot of people, and it’s obviously not me, you, or Jenne.
Missie: I agree.
Taylor: But who? Kyle? Chris? Those are the only two I can think of that both of us have strong ties to.
Missie: Both?
Could it really be? Missie and Kyle had solidified something real, or so she had thought. Surely he wasn’t playing her like an instrument. And Chris, too?
Taylor: Maybe.
Missie: So what do we do now? We can keep this between like four or five of us we really trust and go for it. Change everything up.
Taylor: I agree, but we have to wait for the right moment.
Missie just wasn’t sure. What in the world was going on? Who was the group? Who was playing who? Who could she trust? At that moment she felt like grabbing Isaac and running for the hills with him. At that split second she felt there was no way she could break through this roadblock of people called all stars! Why had she even decided to play?
Right then and there, Missie went straight to Christopher’s hut.
Missie: We gotta talk, my sweet banana-pancake.
Christopher: What’s up Misbish?
Missie barged in and crossed her arms.
Missie: What’s going on? This is just insane, this whole game! I figure you are tight with Jenne and Taylor? I’m figuring that you are either voting me or Drew. Me and Jenne talked, and it does seem that there are things being said that are not true to both of us.
Christopher shrugged.
Christopher: I haven’t said anything untrue to either one of you. I specifically told Jenne I would not vote for you.
Missie: Taylor asked me if you or Kyle were doing it.
Christopher cocked his brow and put his hands on his hips.
Christopher: Doing what?
Missie: Starting stuff between me and Jenne and pitting us against each other.
Just the mere suggestion of it brought a rage to Christopher’s head. Nobody was to use his name in any sort of scheme unless he had been the author—especially not Taylor. Christopher was too smoothe to be a part of any of Taylor’s little angles, anyone should know that. He paused a moment to cool down inside and not take the chance of saying or doing anything rash.
Christopher: Honestly, I apologize. I’ll cut through the bullshit in this game, just as with Ryan. I straight up told Jenne I wasn’t voting for you, so that is on the table. It went round and around to be honest. I am drained.
And that was all Christopher needed to say to Missie at the present. He wasted no time jumping on Taylor. Taylor wasn’t at all shocked to see him, but at that point he was too tired.
Christopher: Taylor, why would you tell Missie that me or Kyle is the one starting things between Missie and Jenne? Why the hell do you always bring my name into it!
Taylor: She brought your names up as well! This is why she needs to go! She tries to start crap!
Christopher moved in on Taylor, backing him up with force.
Christopher: Doesn’t sound to me like you didn’t bring my name up, Tay.
Taylor: Whatever, I just don’t care. Taylor moved out of his way and paced to the other side of the room.
Taylor: I have Missie on one side saying crap to me and lying to my face, and then you come over here and start bashing me.
Christopher: Oh, it’s my fault? Bite me!
Taylor: I never said it was your fault! I don’t think it is! The problem is Missie telling you one story and telling me another story.
Christopher nodded and turned toward the door.
Christopher: I wish you luck at tribal council tonight.
Taylor groaned and threw his hands up.
Taylor: I figured. It’s nice you believe a known liar over a friend…since you are so loyal!
Christopher smirked over his shoulder and headed out with Taylor right behind him.
Taylor: You know she tells everything everyone says to her, you do realize that! Apparently you don’t care!
Without even acknowledging Taylor, Christopher marched away. Taylor stood at the door, his heart pounding. He knew he was finished as he watched him fade into the distance. He sighed heavily.
Taylor: Oh well, vote me off then…
Like a pinball, Christopher was back in Missie’s hut with the latest development.
Christopher: So basically he says you start crap. There ya have it. So why don’t you tell me what’s going on here?
Missie crossed her arms and pressed her lips together with an air of indignance. This was not going to be pinned on her.
Missie: What is going on? I’m not sure anymore.
Christopher: Everything.
Missie: Chris I want to go all the way with you. I meant that! I swear to God I would love that!
Christopher paced away.
Christopher: Here’s the thing. I know you are a player, and I like that about you. I do not think you should be leaving. I think there are some people who deserve at least jury.
Missie: Kyle and Isaac have both opened my eyes to the fact that Jenne does not have me in her future plans and was pissed that Tenzil left.
Christopher shrugged. He didn’t care what Kyle or Isaac had to say; he only wanted to know one thing.
Christopher: How is your group voting?
Missie: I’m voting Drew, and I told Jenne that, too. I didn’t want to save Ryan last time…no way! I wanted to cut some of her power. It’s BS if this was all planned out before the game.
Christopher: I understand that. Taylor and Jenne are certainly in line on this vote. Both pushed for you earlier. I don’t think they have an alliance, per se, though.
Missie scoffed. Was he dumb?
Missie: Taylor and Jenne? C’mon, Chris! They both have the “I’m not going after you thing”! He told Jenne last night, that I told him I wanted her gone! I did not say that to him at all!
Christopher: Well, I don’t think they have anything official, but I think they might work together if that makes sense. I work with some people that changes from vote to vote, but I have no deals. Does that make sense?
Missie stood her ground. There was no way she was going to believe Taylor and Jenne weren’t firmly aligned and Christopher defending them made it that much worse.
In the same vein, as Christopher watched Missie trudge away, he begin to wonder himself about Taylor and Jenne’s relationship. The more he thought about it, the more suspicious he grew. And the more suspicious he grew, the angrier he became that Jenne would keep something from him. How dare she?
Missie didn’t even bother knocking this time. She ripped the door open forcefully and found Taylor lying on his couch. He jumped up with a start as she roared in. Missie: You can kiss my ass, Taylor! I swear you can kiss me ass!
She charged upon him and jabbed a finger in his face.
Missie: I have been so faithful to you!
Taylor: Bull!
Missie: And you say I start crap?! Nice!
Taylor: You might want to ask Chris why he told me that you have been mentioning my name for a boot!
But Missie just growled and waved him off. She was done with Taylor and if she didn’t think it would screw up the whole tribal council, she would write down his name in an instant. She stormed out with smoke seemingly oozing out of her ears. It was a fact that the only person she could trust on the whole island was Isaac Miller.
Taylor sank down on his couch for moment, disoriented. The drama was supposed to revolve around Kyle and Jenne. How did all this surface? He needed help, and he needed it now. Christopher had all but tipped him off that the vote was changing and there was no way Missie wouldn’t vote for him that night. He was through, and he started to panic. He ran immediately over to Beth’s hut and pounded.

Taylor: Beth! Beth!
He pounded some more but there was no answer.
Taylor: Please be here!
He leapt off the porch and walked around, trying to peek through a window, but Beth was not there. Neither was Jenne. Everyone seemed to have ventured away from their huts, and he was crazy trying to find someone, anyone. The truth of the matter was, Beth was with Christopher at the moment.
Christopher: I have had it! I’m voting Drew, and I’m blaming Taylor for my change of plans! Taylor blamed me and Kyle to Missie!
Beth: What happened?
Christopher: Taylor told Missie that I was spreading things to Jenne about her! I don’t think Missie is any less shady than Taylor, but it gives me an excuse to not want to have her railroaded out based on Taylor’s lies!
Beth was taken aback. She had stayed low all day and drama suddenly exploded.
Beth: So who are we voting? Drew?
Christopher: I am. I am not comfortable voting Missie under these circumstances, when people I trust are lying in order to force her out!
Beth: That’s how I was feeling with the Ryan vote.
Christopher didn’t want to get into all that again and waved it off.
Christopher: Drew will have to go because I don’t have time to figure it all out!
Beth: Jenne can yell and scream tomorrow.
What Beth told him next was nothing Christopher had ever expected to hear in a million years. Taylor and Jenne had, in fact, made up before the game and walked in with a secret alliance. She told him about the phone call, the picture…everything. Christopher was appalled and numbed. How could Jenne do this to him? How could one of his solid allies and real friends do this to him? It was genuine betrayal, it was. Christopher could say nothing else before he went to unload on JoJo, then he knew he had to call his alliance together and lay everything out on the table. The girls were called together at once, only they didn’t convene in one or the other’s huts. They walked together as far down the beach as possible, away from any interruption that would delusion any of them. Christopher had grown more frustrated and suspicious by the moment at his real world friend as he mulled over the relationship between her and Taylor. She had been showing signs and even admitting as much to softening toward Taylor. The pieces were coming together, and it all made perfect sense. But Christopher found himself at a loss for words as they came to a stop and began discussing their final decision for the vote. Jenne: JoJo, who are you voting for? Still Missie, or no?
JoJo exchanged glances with Chris.
JoJo: I’m suddenly finding myself with a lot to think about.
JoJo and Christopher had just met prior to gathering up the others. Christopher was fairly worked up and had rattled things off to JoJo so quickly that she could barely keep up. Now she found herself thinking back to the conversation.
Christopher: I am voting Drew. Taylor lied to me and Missie in order to turn us against each other. He blamed me for starting rumors that made her and Jenne fight. Like I had anything to do with that crap! So, Drew. Jenne will be pissed.
JoJo: They are so tight, Jenne and Taylor.
Christopher: I’ll tell Jenne I wasn’t going to vote someone out based on lies, so Drew goes to save Missie until I get this sorted out.
JoJo: Jenne will go off. Let her be mad at me if it will be easier, hun.
Christopher: No, it’s Taylor’s fault. Tell Kyle I am voting Drew when you see him.
He had paused and couldn’t go any further until he let JoJo in on what he had just uncovered.
Christopher: I just found something out that I’m not supposed to tell you. I am not supposed to know, and Beth just told me.
JoJo had nodded, her heart beating rapidly. What was so horrible?
Christopher: You and I are going to the end together, and they can eat us! You and I are the only two not keeping secrets from each other!
JoJo couldn’t possibly know what all this was leading up to, but she listened intently just the same.
Christopher: Taylor and Jenne made up pre-game. Apparently this has all been a ruse. Jenne has been faking us out.
JoJo nodded. She had suspected this for some time.
JoJo: Yeah, I got that.
Christopher: Well, I didn’t know this. Hell, JoJo, I’m ready to switch to the other side! I’m really disappointed in her, and I’m going to let them take her. I’m done with it. Here I’ve been all worried about Jenne and her feelings! It’s been lies the whole time!
JoJo suddenly came to the present. She was standing on the beach with her supposedly solid alliance that seemed to be crumbling before her very eyes. Christopher and Beth were uncharacteristically quiet, and Jenne was bouncing her eyes off each of them.
Jenne: I need to know whether it’s Jon or what at this point.
No one spoke still. Jenne sighed and held her hands out until Christopher looked up.
Christopher: My final thoughts are that everything has gotten shady. I don’t like it.
Jenne: I just wanna know what to do tonight.
Christopher threw daggers at Jenne.
Christopher: I don’t like lies, and I don’t like the way this game has been feeling.
Jenne: What got shady?
Christopher shook his head with a huff.
Christopher: I don’t even have time to go into it. But Taylor lying about Missie and then lying to me about it—does not work for me. Not only does it not engender trust, but it makes me think very hard about my vote.
Jenne: You trust Missie over Taylor?
Beth: I’m feeling torn a hundred different ways.
Christopher: That’s where I’m at. I have some thinking to do. Taylor completely effed up.
Jenne looked around at everyone quickly, speechless almost.
Jenne: I don’t trust it! Too easy to lie about.
Christopher: That’s fine, I’m not telling you what to trust, but there is too much going on here.
He bore through Jenne with his eyes to the point that she took a step back.
Christopher: It doesn’t begin or end with this particular lie, and I’m pretty much over it.
Jenne: I don’t trust Missie so much, but I trust your gut.
Christopher addressed everyone but making sure to make eye contact with Jenne at every emphatic point.
Christopher: I have told y’all what is going on with me since day one of this game. If you haven’t done the same, then well…
He directed his gaze toward Jenne.
Christopher: …you get what you get.
Jenne gaped. She looked to JoJo and Beth for help or some kind of explanation but neither was looking at her.
Jenne: Woah! Chris, what is going on?
He waved her off and marched away from them.
Christopher: I’m out.
And like that he was gone. The girls stared after him and Jenne felt tears building in the corners of her eyes.
Jenne: What the hell happened? He’s believing who knows what now!
Beth: I’ve been told so many different things. I trust us…our group.
Jenne: I guess Chris doesn’t. What’s up with that?
Beth managed a chuckle to lighten the mood, but JoJo and Jenne weren’t biting.
Beth: I don’t know, but I think we’ve been spanked.
Jenne: So, Chris turns on us ‘cuase of what Missie says?
Neither Beth nor JoJo had an answer, and the longer they stood there, the less they accomplished. Beth dismissed herself, and JoJo was left with a speechless Jenne.
Jenne: Straigh out, what happened? Chris is so upset!
JoJo just pressed her lips together.
Jenne: And you seem to be too!
JoJo: I’m more confused.
Jenne: But what happened? Chris just freaked on us.
JoJo: Nothing happened. Just lots of stuff flying around.
Jenne: What was said that set him off like that? He was acting like he doesn’t even trust Beth or I.
JoJo: I don’t know about Chris, but tell me this…I’m hearing things that could be bull. Do you think you set Ryan up in any way?
Jenne’s jaw dropped and she put a hand up to her chest.
Jenne: Me?!
JoJo: Or Kyle to get them gone? And were you and Tay together since pre-game?
Where in the world had all this come from? Jenne felt like breaking down to cry at that instant.
Jenne: Holy crap….wow!
JoJo: Yeah…see what I’m going through?
Jenne: I didn’t target Kyle or Ryan until I was told that they were targeting me, then I definitely worked to get them out. I didn’t frame them or set them up! Tay and I? I was honest with everyone from the start! We hadn’t spoken in four months! We talked before this game started, sorta shook each other’s hands that we wouldn’t go after one another. That’s how we started this game.
JoJo: Ok, that is what I thought.
Jenne: People will stop at nothing! I was still pissed at Tay! I reveled in Chris’ torture of him, but, yeah, I’ve started talking to him again—which I have also told you all about!
Jenne turned to go, and JoJo followed.
Jenne: Now I feel attacked! Like I did something wrong!
JoJo: You feel attacked by me? I’m just throwing stuff out there.
Jenne: No…by whoever is saying all this. So as long as we are clearing the air, did you tell Missie I was after her?
JoJo shook her head.
JoJo: No, but I did talk to her today, and she does know.
Jenne: I want her gone if she’s caused all this! But I don’t want to do it without you!
JoJo sighed and lowered her voice.
JoJo: I don’t know what to do, yet, Jenne.
Jenne: If you were on board, Missie is gone. If not, I’m not voting her. I’d vote Jon.
JoJo placed a hand on her arm.
JoJo: I’m afraid Drew is going.
That was all Jenne needed to hear. She wasn’t going to win this time around, and it was time to backpedal. If Missie wasn’t getting the votes then she need to steer them away from Drew the best she could. At this point, she felt she couldn’t afford for Drew to be voted out. It was time to promote Jon.
Jenne approached Drew sadly.
Jenne: I’m voting for Jon. Some serious drama went down tonight.
Drew: Ok wow…what was the change?
Jenne: I don’t know what, but there is no way to get Missie.
Drew: But how did this happen?
Jenne wasn’t sure if she knew herself. She had suggested Missie and suddenly Chris was mad, Beth was quiet, and JoJo was questioning. There was no way she could explain. Besides, her work was cut out for her to save Drew.
Jenne: Don’t have time. I have work to do. I don’t know what happened.
Drew: Ok, I’m going to stay out of it. I guess Jon will be my vote, too. Thanks for telling me.
She put a hand on his arm, knowing this was probably the last evening she would see him on the island.
Jenne: I’m sorry, Drew, I wish I had time to figure this out. I think Missie went hog wild today.
Drew: No problem. Don’t worry about it.
At the same time, Christopher had returned to his hunt to blow off some steam. He slammed the door shut and paced a bit before he settled in a chair and rubbed his face.
When Beth returned to her hut, Taylor was waiting there ready to jump. He leapt to his feet immediately and came upon her in such a way that she let out a yelp.
Taylor: Beth! Missie told a lie to Chris about me, and now he’s trying to target me! Beth!
Beth warded him off.
Beth: What is going on?
Taylor: Missie and Chris are apparently a couple, and they tell each other everything told to them. She lied to Chris about me, and now he’s pissed off, wants to vote me off. I’m probably going over something Missie said—that wasn’t even true!
Taylor had come at her so quickly should could barely understand the words out of his mouth.
Beth: What did Missie say?
Taylor: That I said Chris was trying to cause drama.
He started pacing nervously and rubbing his hands together.
Beth: Taylor, you’re not being voted out. Calm down!
Taylor: Then who is!
Beth: Jon or Drew?
Taylor: Chris wished me good luck for the tribal council.
Beth rolled her eyes and took Taylor by the arms, forcing him to stop pacing like a mad man.
Beth: He’s probably mad and trying to scare you, but I’m pretty sure he’s not voting you.
Taylor: I’m about ready to say screw it if things continue this way! Why do people take this game so hard?
Beth: It’s a game! A silly game!
Taylor: I just want Missie to go.
Beth: I’ve wanted Jon out since the first vote…along with Ashley.
Just then the door flew open and Jenne let herself in.

Jenne: I think we gotta go for Jon! We are not gonna pull off Missie.
Beth: I don’t care. I don’t know what’s going on. Taylor, I don’t care what you said to Missie, bud did you lie? Did Missie lie? Is Chris lying? I want to know the truth.
Jenne crossed her arms and shot a glance at Taylor.
Jenne: Chris doesn’t trust us now—me included! What the hell happened?
Taylor: I just talked to Missie today, trying to figure out who was starting all this drama. I asked was it Chris? Kyle? Just throwing out names! I wasn’t blaming anyone! Then she proposed an alliance with me to change everything up!
Beth looked from Taylor to Jenne and back.
Beth: What is the upset? What were you supposed to have lied about?
Taylor threw his hands up.
Taylor: Ask Chris!
Jenne: I think Missie lied. I believe you, Tay.
Taylor: Thank you. It means a lot.
But she continued to glare.
Jenne: But someone told Chris and JoJo that Tay and I were together from the start.
Beth and Taylor both exchanged glances, and Beth’s heart began to race. She hoped that her face didn’t betray her.
Beth: Who?
Jenne: We need to deny. I don’t know who, JoJo just asked me about it.
Beth: What did she say? What’s going on? Jenne: Crap was flying, I don’t know! JoJo was asking if I set up Kyle and Ryan from the start, wondering if all this crap was me, which is ridiculous!
She laid her eyes on Taylor.
Jenne: Then she asked if Tay and I had been working together from the start.
Taylor groaned and turned away.
Taylor: Can I shoot myself in the head?
Jenne: Be my guest! I may join you.
Beth: How are we voting? Jenne? Taylor?
Taylor: Jon…Missie…I don’t have a clue who’s going.
Jenne: I’m voting Jon. Drew will probably go, and it sucks. Missie caused problems! Proof why she should go. JoJo won’t vote for her, and if she won’t, we don’t have the votes.
Beth: I don’t like people who cause problems. Who is Jake voting for?
Taylor: Can I talk to Kyle?
Jenne shook her head vigorously.
Jenne: Kyle won’t vote for her. Who do you think told her you and I were working together?
Taylor sighed heavily and sank down into a chair.
Taylor: I guess Kyle. We’re screwed. If Chris votes with Missie, we are screwed.
Jenne: And he hates me. Great! I have to go, guys.
Beth: I just wann vote ‘em all out!
Jenne: Good luck tonight…
Jenne turned and left without further word. Taylor and Beth were left staring at each other. Beth shrugged. The day had been turned upside down, and it was completely out of her hands. She sighed and approached Taylor to lay a hand on his shoulder but he turned and headed out, not knowing what to do, where to go, to whom to talk. Taylor was baffled. By a simple twist of words his fate in the game seemed to have been sealed.
Meanwhile JoJo went to find Jake, her other most trusted ally aside from Christopher, to talk to him about voting with Kyle—as Christopher had asked her. As usual she found him biding his time and stearing clear of all drama. Jake was very openminded and had agreed with JoJo on most all issues thus far. JoJo was confident in taking anything to him. But this time Jake appeared very vulnerable as she approached him. No one had discussed much strategy with him the entire three days, and he had grown anxious.
JoJo: Hey, friend.
Jake: Hey, JoJo. I don’t feel good about tonight.
JoJo: Don’t think about such things. Here is the shhhhh…Missie and Jenne want each other out. Obviously Jenne is immune.
Jake: So we vote Missie? Or are there other options?
JoJo: Not sure numbers are there. I’m hearing Jon and Drew, too.
Jake: Does Chris know about Missie?
JoJo nodded.
JoJo: He would rather not. Did I tell you I came clean to Missie?
Jake shook his head, narrowing his eyes at her.
JoJo: I told her I had hated her and wanted her gone, felt bad, liked her more.
Jake: I still do not like her, though. She’s just so unnecessarily vulgar.
JoJo: I wouldn’t mind her going, but I feel like she is better to have around than some others, and I hope Lizzie stops getting votes.
She paused and looked at Jake for a moment.
JoJo: Jake, would you prefer Missie or Drew? I don’t think we can pull the Chris plan off.
Jake: What is the Chris plan?
JoJo hesitated, knowing that Jake had developed quite a rapport with Drew.
JoJo: He was hoping we would vote Drew.
Jake thought about it for a moment and JoJo feared he would refuse. Ultimately he shrugged.
Jake: I wouldn’t mind Drew.
JoJo: Kyle wants Drew.
Jake: I am fine with that. Missie is a bigger threat to us, but we’ve been taking out way too many big guns.
JoJo: Chris wants you to throw with them and join the Kyle gang.
Jake: So, it’s Drew then? He’s close friends with Jenne, and I think he is being controlled by her.
JoJo: Exactly.
Jake: I say Drew, then.
JoJo: Me too.
Jake suddenly felt better as JoJo left him to go rest in her hut before tribal council. The target wasn’t on him, so he was fine. This was actually where the game was getting fun. One thing Jake Erickson was aware of was walking into a very tight situation with Christopher and all of his people. It was potentially dangerous for him later on in the game. Drew was sounding more and more like the better choice. Jake needed Jenne with less power going into the merge portion of the game. He needed a route to advance when Chrisotpher and his friends became a powerhouse.
Jenne was in no mood that afternoon, and as the day grew older she knew she was running out of time to save Drew. In all honesty, she knew it wasn’t looking good for him. She sought out as many as possible to woo in Jon’s direction, but found she was having no luck. Elisabeth Marie was found in her hut once again.
Jenne: No go on Missie.
She frowned and spoke rather tragically.
Jenne: She threw a fit today and caused a lot of trouble. Now Chris hates me.
Elisabeth’s eyes widened.
Elisabeth: Chris? What?
Jenne: He is believing lies being told. He trusts strangers over his friends, I guess. I don’t know. I’m voting for Jon.
Elisabeth patted her arm.
Elisabeth: I’ll talk to him. I believe you. What I’m believing you about, I don’t know, but I believe you.
Jenne: Thank you, Lizzie.
Elisabeth: If it’s a lie, it’s a lie. The vote is Jon then?
Jenne: I’m voting for him because Drew has been good to me. Your vote is yours.
Elisabeth: Hopefully we can figure this out.
Jenne hoped, but she wasn’t positive. If her secret alliance with Taylor had been exposed, she didn’t know how she would recover. Christopher would not likely forget or let it go.
Then she saw Kyle. Everything had been so turned upside down since the third tribal council, and she actually found herself missing the simpler times. She and Kyle had been good friends and somewhere along the way they had let some manufactured rivalry run away with them. What was the purpose of it anyway? Was it a power struggle between the two? Was it outside forces pitting them together? In all honesty, Jenne knew she hadn’t sat down to really hear Kyle out or he her. They had just believed other people’s words as fact.
When Kyle caught her eye, Jenne tensed. Then she relaxed and forced herself to approach him.
Jenne: Remember when we were friends? When we laughed and flirted and it was so nice?
Kyle took a breath and slowed to allow her to come near him. He remembered those days. He remembered how much fun they had had in Antigua during their stint in Valentine’s Day. Kyle: Of course I remember.
Jenne: I really miss that Kyle. Kyle: I’m still the same Kyle.
Jenne bit her lip. She could easily find herself getting angry again, but she had run the gammit of emotions that day. She was out of anger. She had moved into a new stage of hurt and nostalgia and confusion. If she thought about it hard enough, she could even feel a bit lonely.
Jenne: That caption to that picture was really mean, Kyle. Made me think that you don’t even remember who I am anymore.
Kyle: I do remember who you are, and that caption was meant to be between me and the judges. I had no clue it would be displayed.
Jenne: I’m sure you didn’t. I just know that a lot of crap has happened, and I think we both are responsible. I really don’t like where it’s landed us because I care about you, Kyle. It feels like a stupid game has ripped through us. I don’t like it.
Kyle looked at her for a moment. She seemed sincere in her apology. She looked sincere in her eyes through and through, but he wasn’t sure.
Jenne: I want to apologize to you right now for my part. I know this should wait till it’s all done, but I don’t want to.
She reached out and took his hands.
Jenne: I want you to know I am sorry for everything that I’ve done to contribute to this rift, and I really hope that when all is said and done I can hear that sexy Texan accent once again. And hear you laugh and forget all this crap. I just wanted you to hear what I’ve been thinking because I’ve been realy upset with everything.
A tear glistened in the corner of her eye, but Kyle still was not sure. By that point in the day, word had already traveled to Kyle through JoJo that they were flipping and that Jenne had been fighting a losing battle to off Missie. That led Kyle to believe Jenne was apologizing out of desperation. As much as he wanted to apologize and clear the air with this wonderful friend of his, from a game stand point, he just wasn’t sure.
Kyle: I don’t like what’s happened any more than you do, and I agree that we both hav been part of this rift. To me, it’s just a game. I felt very backed into a corner when I tried to tell you after Tenz was voted out that I was not against you— Jenne: I know it is, but you know how I am, and friendship to me matters more, and I was upset. My emotions got out. I didn’t meant to corner you…I had just had a fight with Chris. I was crazy emotional that day, and I wasn’t even upset that Tenz went!
Kyle: Jenne, the only thing that brought my claws out was that you were actively targeting me and spinning things about me being a power hound that could easily have hurt if I let it.
Jenne: Only thing that brought my claws out was that I was told you were targeting me. You called me a spoiled brat!
Kyle looked down and nodded.
Kyle: I never once targeted you, I can promise you that. I wrote our first argument off as you being in shock over the vote.
Jenne: I’ve been lied to a lot in this game by people I trusted, and it’s turned me around so much I’m dizzy. I feel like it’s pin the tail on the donkey, and I’m blindfolded, spun around a bunch of times, and told to nail the sucker.
She sighed and looked down.
Jenne: I don’t want to feel attacked by you, and I don’t want to attack you. It doesn’t feel right.
Kyle: No, it doesn’t, and it never did.
Jenne: I couldn’t stand to let it go any longer.
Kyle: Then we shouldn’t.
Jenne paused and smiled up at him.
Jenne: Can this be the part where we hug and make up?
Kyle grinned and spread his arms widely.
Kyle: Of course!
And they did hug. Jenne clung tightly to him, and as Kyle patted her back he couldn’t help but wonder how true all this was. Were they going to walk away from each other friends in the game again? Was it that simple? He wanted it to be, but was she true?
Kyle: I truly apologize for any hurt I caused you.
Jenne: I’m so sorry for my part, too, Kyle. I care about you too d**n much to let some feud brew. It’s stupid! I want only good in this world for you.
Kyle: This will actually make me feel so much better about the game than I have felt the past few days.
Jenne: Me, too. I’m really glad we had this conversation. After I read your caption, I was just like ‘enough is enough!’
Kyle nodded. The feud should not go any long and his less than sensitive caption had been the proverbial icing on the cake. Maybe they could actually turn around from that point on.
But as the afternoon turned into early evening and word spread quickly of Jenne’s flailing battle, Kyle began to wonder. When Christopher approached him and told hIm that he and JoJo were flipping sides because of Jenne’s aggression, Kyle no longer believed Jenne’s apology. It sounded too conveniently in the moment of desperation and loss of allies.
Drew seemed more and more like a lock-in in as people talked and decisions were nailed down. A few strays for Jon existed other than Jenne, but a bit of persuasion settled that issue among many.
Isaac: What do you think you’re going to do for tribal council?
Ashley shrugged.
Ashley: I heard Jon and Missie, so I’m going with Jon.
Isaac shook his head quickly and looked around before leading Ashley away.
Isaac: I think you should vote for Drew, but you can vote for Jon if you want. It’s your choice.
Ashley: Nobody really mentioned him.
Isaac: Well, I am voting for him, and I think others are, too. He has an alliance with someone.
He paused and studied her for a moment. Since the beginning of the game they had been friendly with one another and virtually working together, but they had never etched anything in stone. Isaac felt it was time.
Isaac: Ash, do you want to work together for the rest of the game?
She smiled at him and touched his arm.
Ashley: You’re about the only person I trust in this game.
Isaac: I trust you, too. So please trust me on this vote to vote for Drew.
Ashley: Ok, Isaac, but I think we may need him in the long run.
Isaac: Trust me, we can’t get Drew with us. He has an alliance with Jenne, and he won’t move from it either.
Ashley: Since I trust you, I will do it. Who do you think have the most power in this game?
Isaac didn’t hesitate.
Isaac: Jenne.
Ashley nodded quickly.
Ashley: I do, too. Her and Chris.
Isaac: Yes, I agree.
Isaac Miller couldn’t wait to bring the news back to Kyle. Not only had he gained another vote against Drew, but he had cemented another to his alliance with Missie and Kyle. Things were looking better for them by the minute—especailly after the debacle that was the previous tribal council.
Isaac: I have Ashley’s vote! And she also agrees that Chris and Jenne hold the power in this game right now.
Kyle: Schweet!
Isaac: I think we have Jon’s vote, too.
Kyle: Yes, we have Jon’s.
Isaac: Do we have JoJo’s vote?
Kyle: Yes, we do…and Jake.
Isaac: Good, then we have it!
Kyle: Yessir, people are fed up with Jenne. Jenne needs to go ASAP because the drama will be gone after she leaves.
Isaac: Is she still trying to get votes?
Kyle: She’s pushin’ it hard.
Isaac: She can’t do it. Nice! We have the power again in this game!
Kyle held his hands out calmly.
Kyle: Not so fast. Be careful.
Isaac nodded.
Isaac: Yeah, I know, don’t worry. I told myself to not get over confident. That’s how I got voted out in season two.

Kyle understood. He had to tell himself that every day as well. Even now as things were looking on the up and up, he had to keep it in mind.
On the way to the council that evening, Christopher waited for a good portion of the cast to get a head start on him before he headed out avoiding any more conflict or confusion. He had made his decision, and he didn’t want anyone swaying him in any other direction. Beth stayed behind to walk with him as he vented the entire way.
Christopher: I don’t want to get you in trouble, so I’m so sorry for blowing up like I did and even hinting that all is not well in my head.
Beth patted him fondly. Beth: No, it’s fine, trust me.
Christopher: I’ll put it together later and put my game face back on. I’m so disappointed in Jenne. I thought the four of us were playing on the level with each other.
Beth: I trust you and JoJo implicitly.
Christopher sighed as they walked, and he picked up a rock to toss into the surf.
Christopher: You know what sucks? There was a brief time I was questioning you when I should have been looking at Jenne! What is she thinking? What is the point in lying about Taylor?
Beth: I really, really don’t know. I hated that she wouldn’t tell you. It wasn’t fair to me, and it wasn’t fair to you.
Christopher: While this is stressful, it sort of lifts the weight. She has been duplicitious.
Beth nodded and allowed a silence to fall on them before she spoke up.
Beth: So who are we voting?
Christopher: I’m voting Drew. Although it would be fun to vote Taylor.
Beth laughed for a moment.
Beth: I told Jenne she should come clean with you.
Christopher: What did she say to that?
She shrugged.
Beth: Just that she hated you being mad at her.
Christopher: Why did she lie to me in the first place?! What an ass! Did she think I wanted to hang out with Michelle again?
Beth: I was telling her she needed to tell you, and she’s going to be ticked as hell at me when she finds out I’m the one who told.
Christopher: Well, I will not sell you out.
Beth: I appreciate that.
By that time they approached the council where most of the others had already trickled in, they quieted immediately. Beth made her way over to sit next to a solemn Jenne on one of the stone benches. Christopher walked past Jake at the entrance and ruffled his hair. Jake gave him a nod and remained standing in the entrance. When he turned around, Drew Herlitz was in his face.
Drew: Are you voting for me?
Jake: What?
Jake warded him off.
Drew: I figured that if Isaac is voting for me, you may be in on that, too. I’m not challenging you…simply asking.
Jake: I’m not working with Isaac, but I think you are going. I want to be in on the majority.
Drew: I still think the majority is Jon, but whatever you want. So much for our agreement.
Jake frowned at him.
Jake: You sure ain’t holding it up well.
Drew: What? I never voted for you. I never plotted against you! What have I done to break our agreement?
Jake crossed his arms.
Jake: Making alliances behind my back, yes? I hear things.
Drew: The deal was that we wouldn’t vote each other. There was nothing about making alliances. Whatever, you are free to vote how you feel appropriate.
Jake: I gotta do what I gotta do.
Drew: I tried to bring you into that alliance.
Jake: Ryan was at the top…I didn’t want it.
Drew glowered at him and turned away.
Drew: Ok, that’s fine.
Jake: Sorry, man—
Drew whirled around quickly.
Drew: Screw you! He glared at Jake, and Jake found himself speechless. Slowly Drew turned away from him and headed into the council area.
Tribal Council 6
Once everyone was in and situated, Karen addressed them all professionally as usual. There was a sullen air that evening, and Karen noticed it right off. She glanced around at blank faces, angry glares, tension, and even some anxiety. She could tell Jenne had been crying. Jon Kennedy twisted his fingers nervously. Even Christopher who was typicalyl collected and confident coming into tribal council had a light of stress in his features. There was contempt in his eyes.
Karen: Welcome Tribe Snickalick to tribal council number six. Unfortunately, one of you will be leaving the game tonight.
Drew threw a glance at Jake, then turned to look at Jenne. The tear that made a track from the corner of her eye down her cheek was not comforting in the least.
Karen studied several faces for a moment before speaking again.
Karen: At this point in all stars, how much do the previous seasons influence this game? Any old grudges that you hold or are held against you?
One could have heard a pin drop. No one even moved until JoJo snickered nervously. JoJo: Everyone is afraid to talk.
More silence ensued before Isaac looked around briefly and slowly raised his hand. Karen acknowledged him.
Isaac: No.
All waited for more, but when nothing more came, others began to giggle. Isaac smiled and lowered his hand.
Jake also raised his hand, and Karen called on him promptly.
Jake: I don’t think previous seasons are impacting the game at all. I mean, we have to keep previous relationships in mind, but I think it’s been so long—over a year for me. It’s hard to keep grudges. I think it really is a new game.
Drew shook his head vigorously and spoke up at once.
Drew: I know that we are all looking at the game completely idealistically, but I believe that as much as we like to think they don’t, previous relationships do come into play. There is no avoiding that.
Karen: Jake brought up a good point about previous relationships. Would anyone care to comment on their opinions of this?
Hands went up around the council area.
Isaac: When you’ve played with people in the past, your relationship does affect how you perceive them in this game now. Some may say it doesn’t, but we all cannot ignore things that happened in the past. We know how people have played, and we take that into account. I think that is why Jamie got voted out…so many people were intimidated by her from season four. At least, that was the message I got. So, yes, it does have a high impact.
Karen: JoJo?
JoJo: I think that it was overwhelming at the beginning of the game to look at the numbers from my season and see so few, then to see so many together from season four. However, it has felt like a brand new game for me, too. I have met incredible people who I never knew before, and I might be clueless but I think people are open to working with new folks in a new game.
Beth nodded her approval to JoJo then looked around quickly before clearing her throat.
Beth: Well, previous relationships are something I heard a great deal about in the beginning, and while I listened to other people’s perceptions of those relationships, what I have chosen to do is make my own judgments on people and move from there.
Drew raised his hand quickly.
Drew: I would have to disagree with what Isaac said about Jamie being vote out solely based on perceptions of her from season four. She was voted out because she had multiple alliances and played the game too hard. With that said, I really do like how people have seemed to at least try and judge everyone else based on this season alone.
Isaac shrugged.
Karen glanced around, but when no hands went up, she went on to her next question.
Karen: There are people who have been voted out of this game who played the game in its entire Survivor style. There are also people who have been voted out who were thought to be playing only for the challenges and tribal councils but not participating in the social aspect of the game. Many admit that it would be fair to say that of those thirteen remaining, there are still some who are not participating in the social aspect. How do you feel about this? Do you consider it fair to only be with a voting group just to make it further in this game? Should they be doing more especially since this is All Stars?
Again, hands went up around the area.
Drew: I believe that however someone wants to play this game, and it gets them farther, they should be able to do it. Maybe the people who aren’t playing the social part of this game are the smart ones.
Karen: Taylor?
Taylor: I have to agree with Drew a bit. I mean, look where the “non-players” are versus those who went earlier. They are still here so they obviously played better than those that went before them. Is it pretty? No. Is it fair? Maybe not. But since when is Survivor fair?
Jake: Some people are not participating a ton. If that’s the way they want to play, then that’s the way they want to play. I think everyone should be playing to win, ya know?
He looked around as others nodded.
Karen glanced around the room and zeroed in on Jenne who had been sitting quietly, mostly looking at the ground.
Karen: Jenne, you didn’t raise your hand, but I’d like to hear your answer on this topic, please.
Jenne looked up and sighed. She tried her best to paint on a smile.
Jenne: Some people can go all out with the social aspect of this game and some can’t. I don’t respect coasting, but I understand it, too. I think it’s served it’s purposes for many. If people are here, they did something right.
Jenne nodded her conclusion, and Karen looked around for more input.
Karen: Does anyone have anything else they would like to say or discuss before the vote?
Drew: Well, I am getting the vibe that I may be going tonight, and I respect that. Just think of the fact that I am at least good to talk to. I am participating socially.
Everyone grew silent after Drew finished. Karen prompted for any more discussion, but no on responded.
Karen: Beth, Christopher, Isaac, Jenne, JoJo, and Kyle have immunity tonight. The rest are vulnerable. With that said, it’s time to vote!
And one by one the remaining thirteen got up to vote. Kyle was first and seemed uncharacteristically blasé about the tribal council. It was the first time he hadn’t felt like a close ally was in trouble, and it was quite refreshing. Jenne reached over and patted Drew on the knee. He looked at Jenne quickly and immediately felt a sinking sensation in the pit of his stomach. Beth glanced around at everyone. Christopher merely pressed his lips together and stared off into his own space.
When Karen returned with the urn of votes, she faced the cast.
Karen: Once the votes are read the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave the tribal council area immediately. I’ll read the votes.
She reached in and pulled out the first vote for Drew. He nodded sadly and received another squeeze on the knee from Jenne. When the second vote was revealed for Jon, Jon looked over at Jenne. Two more votes were revealed for Jon, and his heart began to race. He had been promised he wouldn’t be receiving any votes, but Kyle had told him otherwise.
Karen: Fifth vote…Drew.
What glimmer of hope Drew had gathered from three consecutive Jon votes went away when he saw his name once again, then a third time, then a fourth. He nodded solemnly.
Karen: Ninth vote….and the eighth person voted out of All Stars…Drew. You’ll need to bring me your torch.
Another tear fell from Jenne’s eye as Drew stood and moved away from her touch. She looked over at Christopher who faced the front. She then looked back at Beth and JoJo who were both staring at the ground.
Drew grabbed his torch free and headed to Karen.
Karen: Drew, your tribe has spoken.
The flame was extinguished. He took once last parting glance at the remaining twelve before he turned and stalked away. Jenne watched him disappear into the darkness.
Karen allowed a solemn silence linger over the council before she spoke up.
Karen: As the top immunity winner in the last challenge, I asked Kyle to give me five names without knowing why. He chose Isaac, Jenne, JoJo, Jon, and Missie.
JoJo: Look at all those “J’s”.
Karen: The next immunity challenge will be played as teams. Kyle has chosen his team, and the second team will be Ashley, Beth, Christopher, Elisabeth, Jake, and Taylor. Tree-mail will be read at noon tomorrow. You can head back to camp.
As simple as that, they gathered their torches and headed out. The day had been too long and eventful to hang around and continue more dramas.
There was still so much more to come.

Drew's Final Words Well, Well, Well here I am giving my final words way too early in this game. I definitely did not deserve to be voted out tonight, nor do I know why I was voted out. I just feel awful that people like Taylor and Elisabeth outlasted me. There is absolutely no reason for them to still be in the game and for me to be in the losers lounge. I am definitely pissed at Jake because we had an agreement that we would never cast a vote for each other, and that definitely wasn't held up on his end. For all those that I asked for a straight answer if I was going tonight, you are all cowards for not telling me. This is complete bull shit that I was voted out and all of you know it. There is no logical reason for me to go at this point. I am not a threat in challenges, I obviously don't play the game all that well, so why vote me out? Everyone saying how much they liked me was complete bull shit, and I hope I don't ever talk to most of the players in this game ever again.
